Everyone wants to serve faster, and there are many videos with advice. Unfortunately most of them do not address the underlying cause preventing racquet acceleration. In order to serve faster, you have to learn how to coordinate different body parts to transfer force from the ground to your racquet head. In this video I will discuss the easiest way to learn to do this.

This is really good advice, and 100% accurate in my opinion. The only additional complexity a server presents is the toss

I didn't learn this from this video, but it made a big difference to me. Understanding how to put the chain together on something with as many variables as a serve was always hard. Just thinking of throwing the racket was all I needed. Sure I still need to make all of the bits much better, but at least I understand how to stick them all together. Taught it to someone else too who I knew had a good throwing action (a cricketer) but had no flat serve. Within a week he had a pretty powerful flat serve as it just came naturally to him when I explained it that way - I am no coach but 1/2 hour of explaining and demonstrating, and it just clicked.

Hard is good, but is it consistent? Can you hit it with different spins? Can you hit it hard for the whole match? Does your shoulder or elbow feel ok over time? If you can do all this and have no body problems then you are an exception! Congrats!

Great, but shouldn’t you emphasize that in a tennis serve you are throwing up not laterally. You did say it once, but it wasn’t emphasized..

You probably found a way to compensate but you are probably serving below your potential.
