Enjoyed your video a lot! Being more of a an axe user and not so much into big knives, I got surprisely totally in love with the Skrama, such a simple looking efficient tool .. love this "no bullshit" type of tools, no fancy looking useless feature on it, just the useful, good design and good steel, use it a lot even at home to pick up logs from the floor before splitting.. Same feeling when it comes to this "one tool option" fantasy, first choice.

On mine, I rounded the spine more as far as I could stretch my thumb down the spine, then put a 90 on the remainder and the front section from spine to tip. Amazing knife, the balance of the forward grip makes it feel and handle like a much smaller knife, and dropping back changes the feel radically to a front heavy dedicated chopper. The difference is huge, like two separate knives. Best multi-grip handle out there. Love the 80crv2 steel!

They sell out fast because the words got out. They are that good, and a bit of a bargain. I love mine and can't stop smiling when mine cleaves through stuff leaving a clean cut. Just the ticket for the daysack, or around the camp; around the garden too. No worries they will be back in stock, just have to push the button when they are. The Terava 110 and 140 are great too, and the leather sheaths worth having. Want something more pointy then the Peltonen good. Nice review, sums it up well.

I gotta get one! I like the 140 but have the Garberg already even though I know the 140 would be cool I rather get the big boy for now and pair it up with it. Yeah the sheath is awesome, but ya know you could a paracord wrap around that plastic insert and connect a nylon belt for the belt loop, dang ya got me thinking now LOL

straight out of the box the spine isn't quite sharp enough to throw good sparks to be honest. i've had mine over a year now, and had to get it sharpened to work better with a ferro rod. once that's done tho, it works a treat. only bad thing about this blade is, if you've got nice knives or axes, it's gonna be a while before you take them out, cos this does everything and doesn't weigh much.
@ramza7817 жыл бұрын
could you use the hole in the knife to strike a ferro rod?
@rorybyrne39777 жыл бұрын
it would need to be a pretty thin ferro rod. problem is that a normal sized ferro rod wouldn't be able to be positioned at the right angle to throw sparks. if you are in any way handy with a metal file and have 15/20 minutes patience you can easily make your own 90 angle on the back. wouldn't let that put me off though, it's a fantastic piece of kit. does everything you need.
@pascalhogstrom22037 жыл бұрын
bring a damn lighter. wtf
@canofspam43376 жыл бұрын
A lighter sucks too You can't use it to throw Sparks either 😂
@stalwart2636 жыл бұрын
What is the obsession with using the spine of a knife to throw sparks and complaining when the spine isn’t “Sharp”. Use a ferro rod striker. That’s what they are for. Safer and you will not ruin your knife.

Badassery, is a term seldom used, but when it comes in the correct context, it just provides the perfect solution to the use of inaccurate superlatives... In other words,, jeez, man, you nailed it,,, anyway, you had me with the laugh,, .. great video, great knife,, nuff said,, atb, buddy, , ps the leather sheath is brilliant,,,

These are really great knives. I'm going to scoop up as many 110 and 140 as I can. Once the world realizes the great quality and superiority of this knife , they will be in great demand and be very hard to find.
@cyantadeo9752 жыл бұрын
Forward to 2021 you can get the 110 with a leather sheath for $79 usd
@bushcraft_in_the_north6 жыл бұрын
The leather sheat is great! get the whole package,i highly recomend it. It works great here in the Norwegian forest. Mine came with a supersharp spine. This with a good litle carwing knife and a saw. But i must say it is the best one tool option i have ever used,it really does everything fantastic if you have the skills,if you dont. Well then,nothing works.And get the one in carbon steel.

That is one badass blade. I just got the 140 knife in carbon steel. Attach that to the the skrama sheath and that is a dynamic duo. And how do they make money when these are so damn cheap I will never know.
@EattinThurs616 жыл бұрын
If you have a loop from the lanyard hole around you arm near the elbow then hold /pinch the blade at the top for like skinning?

Im not the only one i guess that f^%king loves the knife love love love it just wait till you can get the sheath from them its awsome
@harvestblades7 жыл бұрын
So two months in how are you liking it? What are your thoughts on the finger groove? Some have complained that it gets in the way and is aggravating for carving sessions.
@OutsideTheBoxUS7 жыл бұрын
Larry Koziol Im still loving it. Has been my go to for larger tasks. To be honest the handle doesn't bother me at all, but i do have x-large gloves size hands and always have another knife for smaller tasks. Thanks for watching!
@stolman21974 жыл бұрын
Bought the 240, hardly used it (to sinking big to pack), sold it. Bought the new 200 blade, just right love it.
@kaikkimeni25197 жыл бұрын
It says on the site you need to grind/sand the back to get a decent spark. It's only 4x HRC and high carbon, the steel is a lot harder.
@luisloya11202 жыл бұрын
I had the same laugh and shit eating grin after receiving my skrama 240 and jaakaripuukko 140.

You could probably find a sheath for a machete that would do the trick. Varustaleka does have one also, it's got camouflage design.
@abdullaex41196 жыл бұрын
Received all my cutting things from Varusteleka. Yes, if it's not in stock you will need to wait, but worth it. Good folks to deal with. Ended up ordering much more when I realized the quality and price on clothes, marino wool socks, packs, etc. No doubt why they sell out so fast... Anyway, wondered if you treated the leather sheath? If so, what chems/process did you us? Or how you would treat any leather chopper sheath? Thanks
@kennywheelus68573 жыл бұрын
You ever used frog lube to coat your blade or heard of it,it's nontoxic, biodegradable an also safe for food prepping afterwards, soaks through the steels pores like lotion to better protect your blade from rusting an corotion.

I think practicality is beauty That said the skrama is one sexy beast
@lakrabid6 жыл бұрын
Only way to make it a one tool option is to have the spine with a sawback that is as good as a silky... Would be nice of that existed. One tool option is very much season dependent. But the Skrama is as close to the mythical one tool as can be gotten.

@jamesaritchie16 жыл бұрын
Pure stupidity. That isn't even a knife, and has nothing to do with being a woodsmen. It's the kind of thing people who never grow up use. You look like a laughing stock when wearing one, which is what happens behind your back, and you look like someone who has no clue what a knife is for, or what a woodsman is, when using it.
@NYstranger745 жыл бұрын
It is patterned after a viking/saxon long knife long used in that time period...
