• CLAY I USE: Laguna red low fire earthen ware clay without grog. (EM106 or EM334 wards)
• Firing (Bisque) at cone 06. (I don't own a kiln, so I take my pieces to a pottery studio close by and get it fired in an electric kiln there)

Glad you like the content I share. Mine is probably ply (picked it up from home depot, the staff there suggested this one). It's almost an inch thick, a little heavy and hasn't given me much problems inspite of constant working. The earlier one was probably a pine one and it warped very quickly. You can check with a local carpenter/ hardware store on suggestions on what you can use. You can state your purpose/usage and they might suggest an apt one.

Hi mam, I'm a huge fan of yours...for baking the terracotta shall I give to chips shop... they have furnace....how long terracotta to baked in furnace

I don't know the specifications of the furnace you use. One thing with firing clay, is that it needs a gradual rise in temperature which the latest kilns do as they can be programmed. You could check with someone more experienced to help you answer this. With my limited knowledge on firing this is the only info I can provide.

Wow. Was really fabulous. lovely 🌹. What is the difference between the nichrome of gauge 24 and 26? And also I used to give the black colour paint after diluting as a base coat. But if I am colour with any other colour over the black coat it's not very much bright and the black is dominating. To be more clear, it's not looking beautiful as yours. What is the ideal solution for this? Do I need to change my paints? And where are you getting these materials now? It seems to be in good quality.

- The difference is in size. Gauge 24 is thicker than gauge 26. -Do you get your work fired black or red? Typically if it's black, then that's a common issue people face. It may require multiple coats. - I don't what paints you use but as long as they are acrylic it should be fine. I would use fevicryl hobby ideas in India, but here I use multiple brands. - I currently live in the US so I buy things like clay, paints etc here. My cords, wooden beads is something I got from India during my last visit.

I used to get the jewellery black after baking. And I am using camel acrylic paints. Thank you so much for your response. I am just a beginner. I learned from your videos on how to make terracotta jewelleries. It seem to be very easy by watching your videos but as soon as I tried it was not.

@@rajarajeswaris8875 it requires practice like any other craft form. You might want to consider firing it in the right manner. That makes a big difference to the overall finish the jewelry.

In furnace, it has very high temperatures..is it similar to kiln baking

In the kiln, the pieces are bisque fired between 999 - 1060 degrees C. The firing happens for an approx duration of 8 hours if the kiln is small and cools for another 6-8 hours inside the kiln before it can be removed from the kiln.
