Although the Tesla Model 3 has been out for a few years now, there are plenty of subtle differences as the car develops and production stretches to different facilities!
We had the Long Range on a week-long loan. This is one of the EC5D variants made in China. The battery pack is approximately 70kWh usable. The range is phenomenal. The user interface is superb; it's snappy and incredibly funtional!
We had a good look around the outside and inside of the car. Then we navigated to a Supercharger, tested out the acceleration and plugged in to see how fast we could charge. And finally, we asked if this was the best EV in the world?!
We love to get comments...and don't forget to subscribe so that you never miss a show!

How easy and quick is it to put on the windshield wipers compared to another vehicle. The reason i am asking is another review i was watching said the windshield wiper controls are in the infotainment system.
@BuckFush08
@BuckFush08 2 жыл бұрын
There is a button on the end of the left stock, which, when pressed, turns on the wipers, and displays the wiper settings on the screen automatically, so you can choose to speed the wipers up or slow it down. The wipers are also automatic, so when it rains, they come on automatically. That being said, I've heard that they aren't perfect... sometimes, when it's raining heavily, the wipers will come on low, or if it's drizzling, they won't come on automatically.] You can also simply press the right wheel on the steering wheel, which turns on voice command, and simply say "Wipers on", or "Wipers on low", etc. It really is a non-issue in my opinion.

That's just about the best concise review of the Model 3 that I've come across. It entirely concurs with my findings. I've had a couple of drives [I run a VW ID.3 simply because I couldn't justify the additional spend on a Model 3 SD+], one in a Standard Model 3, and that blew my socks off with its sheer all-round capability. And the other in an LR, which would be my practical choice. Enough performance. Plenty of range in the coldest weather. And that Tesla charging network. I also happen to love the look of the M3, so for me there is almost no downside. The craze for SUVs, I'm really not into. The M3 is low and I like it. My ID.3 is taller for a smaller car. The M3 boot? Yeah, a hatch would be better, as in my VW, but it's big anyway, so you can put a bicycle in there, with care and the rear seats down. And with the rest of the car being so good it's no wonder why people are buying them in such numbers. In Hampshire UK [my neighbourhood], you'll wait a minute of two and one or three will come by. People just love them.

Wow, thanks Andy...that's made Blake's day! We're a bit like you...love the Model 3, but can't currently justify the extra money compared to what we run. Now...if I was regularly driving 1,000km per week, I'd change in a flash!

Just had my new model 3 long range and bought the Acceleration Boost update over the air for 3.7 seconds 0-60mph, love it and the car really is amazing to drive. I'm getting just over 300 miles below 5c so can't wait for warmer weather plus a full charge for over 300 miles costs me under £8 at home 👍

I currently drive a BMW 330E but will go full electric in 18 - 20 months or so. The Tesla 3 ticks most boxes but I really don't like everything being on a glorified iPad in the centre. At the very least it is dangerous to have to look away so much. The lack of a heads up display option is quite frankly staggering and just because the worlds richest muppet finds them annoying. I find mine absolutely invaluable and would not be without it. Guessing it will be an i4 instead

Great to hear you're going electric Peter! If you're used to the 3 series then the BMW may well be the best option...as the i4 looks great! I didn't find the screen dangerous at all. So now we have 'long range' cars? Not the case with ANY ice vehicles. An app to open the boot?? Yes, let's use an app when it would be quicker to use your hand. Tesla? Ev? Definitely no on both counts

so does the app allow you to order spare parts and get third party garages to work on your tesla? How about trying an out of warranty car and then do 50000km and then do a review
@ciga53
@ciga53 2 жыл бұрын
Don't get caught out of warranty. I have 2018 model 3 with 50k miles. 100k factory warranty on battery, bought 3rd party warranty 110k for the rest of the critical components. Before then I'll sell the car for something newer
@kevsaccount3644
@kevsaccount3644 2 жыл бұрын
I can feel the salt in this comment lol. Reviewers now need to buy a car outside its warranty, drive it for 50k before the review holds useful information? Funny how comments like these don't show up on ICE reviews, it's almost like there is a hidden agenda 😏
@tomquimby8669
@tomquimby8669 2 жыл бұрын
@@kevsaccount3644 Almost everything non Tesla, you can parts for outside of the dealer networks and work done by your local garage, so out of warranty is not a problem. Anybody can get a test drive in a new car to get an impression but long term ownership really shows what its like to own.
@kevsaccount3644
@kevsaccount3644 2 жыл бұрын
@@tomquimby8669 While I agree with the sentiment of long term ownership being more indicative of the experience to own one, you're talking about a car released in 2017 for a start, nobody would say this on a review of say the 2020 Golf R, yet when it comes to Telsa people are pretty quick to dismiss them rather than posting constructive questions. Your comment used a highly illogical question "so does the app allow you to order spare parts and get third party garages" which is clearly biased against this company or EV's in general. If this was simply along the lines of "How easy is it to get repairs in the event of a battery/motor failure?" it would serve far more use than spewing shit because you don't like Telsa. The reality is that EV's are still in infancy and it's worth bearing that in mind when you consider buying one, but the issue of part availability isn't confined to EVs or Tesla and is affecting the whole sector (my GTI had to wait 3 months for parts just recently) what little data does exist for long term ownership so far shows a trend of spending less over the life of the vehicle even taking into account the increase in tyre wear. Given time and money the maturity of the sector will develop to the point where getting a repair done is possible through many third party vendors but for now, yes, you would be buying into a developing market. For many the best option is to wait a few years to let the dust settle, especially those who are unsure such as yourself.
@tomquimby8669
@tomquimby8669 2 жыл бұрын
@@kevsaccount3644 Well as you mentioned the app a lot it seemed a good question to ask as you relied it so much. Since it has limited use much like you inferring highly speculative motives on my part without enough data to work on. I might add that comments that you don't like is "spewing shit". Asserting that I don't like Teslas or EV's is indictive of a limited comprehension of critique.
