96 CHEVY 1/2 TON 6.5 DIESEL 4X4 EX CAB
Hi, Subscribe! Thanks.
This video and others that I upload from my Apple MacBook pro computer or my desktop computer.is intended to make you smile and save memories for my family and friends. Hope you enjoy! Other forms of upload that I have used is my iphone and ipad. I can't believe how fast videos are uploaded. Some things you will see on this channel is my hobbies like diesel trucks and my IH Scout. It has a 6.5 turbo diesel engine in it along with a NV4500 trans. Maybe I should have put a 7.3 Powerstroke diesel or a 5.9 Cummins diesel or even a Duramax diesel in it. Nope, they were all to heavy. The 6.5 produces 200 hp which is enough, even though I always want more horse power. Speaking of ponies, my daughter had a few horses, someday maybe a video of her on her horse. She loves her cat Katrina. yes she was named after thew hurricane. My other kids love their music. My oldest son actually composes some music. We sure love our cats, dogs and other animals. We live out in the country so there is sun rain and snow, then fog. To clear the snow I have a skid steer that acts like a snow plow. I like tractors IH tractor (International Harvester) not John Deere. Haha. It's like the old rivalry between Chevy and ford. Dodge always comes in third. Being in the country taking the motorcycle out is safe and fun. Just don't hit a deer. That would kill you. If you did die where would you go? Heaven or Hell? Tough question that needs to be answered. Read your bible. Also watch my video "This message will change your life." We are here on this earth only for a little while compared to eternity, so you must be ready. We won't get out of this life alive. Hope a war doesn't take us all out. We have the best military, but China is building theirs. They have the strongest economy in the world, backed by gold (soon). USA has way to much debt to keep going like it has. Our political landscape doesn't look so good. The politicians have figured out that they can buy votes with our money...Taxpayers money! Enough rambling on about politics, cars, trucks, tractors, nukes, the bible and on and on. You have a great day & thanks for looking at my videos, I hope they bring you a little Joy in this crazy challenging world.
Thanks!

I had an 84, a 94 and a 96 half ton diesel. 94-98 you could get a 6.5 in the 1500's. The early years they were offered in turbo and non turbo but I think they dropped the non turbo but not sure what year. Prior to 94 it would have been a 6.2 for the 1500's. The 6.5 came out in 92 but only in the C6P 2500's and 3500's and 3500HD's.

The minute my "new wife" told me that she didn't want the truck, she would be told that the truck comes with the new husband and if she didn't like it, the truck told her to fuck off. It was here first. Any man that gets rid of of himself to appease his wife is not going to be a happy husband for long. The one and only time I "almost got" married, my fiance demanded that I pick out a church to attend and that I had to attend pre-marital counseling from a minister that was younger than me. I laughed, I stared at her, and she left. I now have a motorcycle, a 4 wheeler, a car, a truck, 2 tractors, lots of guns, a sweet job, a house with 3 acres of land (sold the 26 acre hunting camp so I could build a pole barn for all my shit) and I'm still single. I will be able to retire at 56, and I'm the happiest man in the world. Girls, if you ever tell your man that they HAVE to get rid of their truck, the truck isn't the fucking problem.

It's a pipe dream. The woman that left me for Jesus was smoking hot and we sinned at every opportunity. The sad part is, even 17 years later I still love the bish. Once you have those kinds of feelings for someone, it's tough to turn them off. I'm still happier than a pig in a mud bath because I know the nagging would've never ended. I've looked for a woman that doesn't want to change you to fit her, and they just don't exist.

And you think the 6.5l is a great engine? When I was a kid I use to love Chevy till I grew up. Chevy has to be one of the biggest piece of shit money can buy. For over 30 years Ford has out sold Chevrolet and GMC combined. I'm a fleet mechanic for a large gas company and we carry all three Cummins,Duracrap,and Powerstroke. We dropped GMC and Chevrolet because the problems they have. Pulling is a joke. So keep your Chevy on the street and step aside and let the real men work...

I'm guessing this was the last body style that you could buy a 1500 with a diesel until the 2019 present body style of the Silverado/Sierra 1500s came out. Probably was because the 1500 versions of the GMT800s, GMT900s, and GMT K2XXs didn't have a diesel option.

I had a diesel Suburban It just had a new PMD when I got it, Right away I remoted it on a plate of aluminum behind front bumper so it would have air flow. The 1/4" thick aluminum tread plate was the size of a license plate. PMD mounted with the silver stuff for heat conduction to the smooth side of the tread plate. Did everything top notch. The Grey (best one, updated from Standyne) new PMD still failed after 100k miles. Pretty much right on 100k. more than half of the miles were highway. Bottom line, expect to change every 100k.

From what I understand stand if you put a liquid filled dampener and change your injectors every 90 000km aswell as a luburcant fuel additive 4" straight piped exhaust and these things will last forever. I'm looking to buy one soon. Might sound expensive but I just priced out a new highcounty Dmax 2500 HD windows sticker said $89 700 plus dealer fees taxes and interest. Getting further into the video you can tell the Turbo gauge is COMPLETELY custom as its completely different color than the rest of the interior and you can tell its one of the Amazon/Ebay gauges.

Still a really nice truck and overall its extremely light compared to a full 2500 Diesel. Which equals to more use of power when not hauling, Better fuel efficiency.

It's chipped, EGR delete and a spring wastegate. Puts out nice HP, not to much to wreck the engine in short order.

Wrong. It's factory original. They had to add an EGR system because it wasn't a 3/4 ton.

Nice truck, but one of the biggest piece of shit diesels gmc ever made. Think god they started making duramax, other than injectors that motor is night and day difference
@werdCanada
@werdCanada 9 жыл бұрын
+dsimondublin actually if you do your research GMC didn't build this diesel nor the Duramax, plz do your research before you start chirping.. this is a Detroit diesel built NOT to compete with the Cummings but was engineered for respectable towing and mainly fuel mileage, Isuzu builds the Duramax case your curious about that engine as it was built to compete with the rest.. but thanks for your input!
@dsimondublin
@dsimondublin 9 жыл бұрын
Lol I could care less who built what or why. That diesel motor in particular early Chevy/GMC was the reason you very rarely see one there are tons of 350cc and the common 454 in heavier set trucks. As I mentioned other than injectors the duramax is night and day difference. If you want to make your argument step up.
@werdCanada
@werdCanada 9 жыл бұрын
+dsimondublin also i never argued the duramax wasn't a more powerful setup... just stated the fact they are built by (2) different manufactures to compete in (2) different classes.. if you need to yap please read what I am typing so we can keep this logical ;) love from Canada!

The motor is a piece of shit regardless who built it. You're are correct GMC did not build it, but they chose to put it in their truck. Powerstroke and cummins are WAY BETTER. Proof look at how many are around still from late 80's tell now. Your the fucktard trying to prove me wrong on the fact that Chevy/GMC used a motor that was used for adequate towing and fuel economy? Tell me what other diesel at the time did not provide that plus additional power, torque, field economy, and many dependable miles on the road? Do you know what the issues with these motors are now? Transmission failure. Motor has more torque and power than what it can hold up to. As I mentioned they had the option for the 350 and 454 that were in my opinion more powerful and reliable. I have seen multiple older Chevys with an upgraded cummins, or duramax. As I stated earlier I could care less who built what piece of shit motor. You can make what ever argument you want. Chevy/GMC decided to put an unreliable motor in their trucks. As I mentioned I support and approve of the duramax, other than the early injector failures.

The only issue with 5.7/6.2/6.5 diesels are lower power output than new diesels. They're as reliable, get great mileage, etc. 99% of their issues are lack of maintainence or misdiagnosed problems (IE crank pulley vibration misdiagnosed as wheel issue, leading to snapped crank shaft.)
