Acrylic Pour Painting Fluid Art Abstract Art DecoArt Ready to Pour Test
Hello Friends!
One of my viewers had asked me what I thought of the new line of DecoArt Ready to Pour Fluid Art Acrylics.. so I got some! Today we are going to try them out! I'm excited!
The Colors I got were a 4 pack called "Lagoon".
The colors are:
Blue Violet
Sky Blue
Tropical Blue
Aquamarine
I also added some of their Ready to Pour White, and I mixed up some DecoArt Americana Decor Metallics 24K Gold. I wanted a darker purple in there also, so I added Liquitex Basics Dioxizine Purple with a bit of ColorShift paint to my color palette to make it a bit sparkly.
I put down a basecoat of 24K Gold.
I layer a 5 ounce cup carefully down the side, and do a ring pour on a
12x12 Gallery Wrapped canvas.
The consistency of the paints is lovely, I really enjoyed pouring with them. Not too thin, not too thick.. just right!
I really love the way this pour came out! I see beautiful separation of the colors and the lines have held their shape. There are a few cells where I stretched it, but not a lot.
I think this is a great product. If you are just starting out and don't want to invest in pouring medium and Floetrol, or you can't or don't want to mix your own paints, this is a fabulous option.

I hope you guys enjoyed this pour, I did! These paints were super easy to use, and gave beautiful results.
The only things I did not like were that there was no Gold included in the 4 pack.. and that I used up the 4 ounce bottle VERY quickly.

Love listening to the coyotes. We were raised in Hawaii so the first time I heard them in the wild was when I visited our older sister in California. Beautiful So is the painting I am new to this and purchased the ready to mix and I can get a great ring pour but I'm having trouble with the stretching

What I found especially helpful was the measurements (like 12 x 12 canvas - 5oz of pour). That is helpful when you are doing your first pour.

Love the color combination and how this pour turned out. I put together some small canvasses and bottles of premixed paints together for the gal across the street who baby sits her granddaughter. Start them young when housebound due to corona!

I'm so glad you tried them and liked them! Its a great product, but like you, I wish the bottles were bigger. Its great to get an idea of what your consistency should be like tho.. for when you mix your own paints.

I think these are a great alternative for people who either can't mix their own paint or are just starting.. you know they're more expensive because you've been doing it for a while lol 😉 but imagine if they had these when you first started! lol the reason I really like them is because the consistency is good, and if beginners start using them they will know what the consistency should be like when they do start mixing their own. Beautiful colors! I love it. I love your work! (We had coyotes yipping behind our back fence the other night. Had to quickly bring in the Corgis. We only have a 4 foot fence. Small hurdle for a coyote. I like coyotes - from a distance.)

Thank you for demoing this product. I like the idea of using these premixed bottles for when I travel to paint with friends. This came out gorgeous and quick. I wonder if it would come out the same with a white base or if the gold base does come thru and add glimmer to all the paints. Love your videos

Hi Linda! I think that's a great idea about taking them to travel! So Easy! .It would have had gold cells popping thru, except I forgot to thin my basecoat 😕 I was watching the video while we were editing and noticed the paint eating itself as it slid down.. because the basecoat was too thick. LOL A white basecoat would also be pretty, but you would get white cells (if you stretch the pour a lot) . If the gold in your cup is thin it will do that shimmer on top of everything. This is lovely Mina. It has great delineation of the rings. (Is that your magic touch or DecoArt paint?) I like DecoArt products too and also (mostly) enjoy mixing my own. A purest no less. Take care and thank you for sharing this test.

Absolutely gorgeous AOA! Could you mix the paint with more pouring medium to make it go farther? Beautiful colour palette, you could do your own set of palette cards just like Gina did Stay safe and well Mina as we need your videos to keep us smiling and encouraging us to do paintings of our own! And most important these days: I hope you and your love ones are safe and sound. In Holland more and more people get Corona. Even my grandson has Corona, he is only 5 years old. I can’t visit him, it worries me a lot......

Mina, thank you for your prayers. About the Keukenhof: I don’t know if the tulips are blooming yet. Due to the Corona crisis the Keukenhof is closed at least till the 6th of April. But if you decide to go: I live about 25 km from the Keukenhof., so very close by. I invite you and your daughters to stay at my house. On Google Maps: search on Leiderdorp ( my place) and Lisse ( Keukenhof ) Hope to see you sometime! The both of you are more than welcome! 😘

Hi Louise! I mixed up some DecoArt 24k Gold the way I normally do, with liquitex gloss medium and varnish and floetrol, and I used that in addition to the ready to pour paints. It worked great 😉 I did not add anything to the ones that are the ready to pour, just squirted them directly into the cup. Thanks for watching! 🌷

When using the blow torch when you refill it is there a difference between Butane fuel and Butane gas.

Hi Frank.. we get the small canisters of butane gas from Home Depot. They are not refillable, to the best of my knowledge. The last cannister lasted me about 4 months or more.

New to this What is the pouring medium that is in the coffee creamer bottle?

Hi Frank! I use Liquitex Gloss Medium &Varnish as my pouring medium. I buy it in a one gallon tub, and then dispense it into the two half gallon bottles, easier to pour. If you check the description box I always list all my colors and pouring medium so you guys know.. its also on the screen when I show you the colors 😉Thanks for watching!

@@MinaVillegasArt Thanks for getting back to me. I have some Minwax one coat Polyurethane clear semi gloss can I use that and if not (Liquitex) Gloss Medium &Varnish I am guessing the Liquitex is the brand name which can be found in hardware stores.

@@frankkelley4025 there are some people that add the Minwax to their pouring medium. I did it once and was not really impressed by any visible difference. You will have better luck finding the Liquitex pouring medium in Michael's or on Amazon (but who knows when it will get delivered!).. you can also check out Micheals website.. (sign up for emails and you get groovy coupons!) It's not cheap, but it makes a huge difference in how stretchy your paint is and creates beautiful effects. There are lots of pouring mediums out there.. I love Liquitex products. I like the Gloss Medium &Varnish because if I'm pouring a huge canvas I dont have to worry about varnishing it after its dry. Let me know how it goes! ❤

@@frankkelley4025 you can use a kitchen torch, like for Creme Brulee.. lol my small one is just on top of a canister of gas.. my big one is actually a charcoal starter lol but its convenient for big canvases.
