Lycopene is the pigment present in watermelon pulp n it's insoluble in water. So if your cotton gets any kind of color it's adulterated. It's as simple as if carrot n beetroot r kept in water, beetroot water becomes red(soluble pigment) n carrot water doesn't (insoluble pigment) Hence u can also keep a piece of watermelon in water, if colour changes, it's 100% adulterated

Every watermelon that i'm buying seems to be adulterated as cotton ball is getting pink by wiping on watermelon! Then how and what to eat!

Trust me, I tried with the watermelon bought from the xxx mart that turned pinkish red on cotton ball and no pure wateremlon like taste and sweetness . But the one bought from the wholesale fruit market didn't turn red and had a optimal red colour and natural sweetness. The shop vendors purchase them from the fruit market for wholesale rate and inject and sell them locally. Do not buy from the local markets and shops. Buy only from wholesale fruit markets.

But by rubbing the cotton swab like this in circular motion, every swab is getting red (shades of red vary just). Brought watermelons from local shop, D mart, Blinkit, Reliance fresh, and 4 are making the cotton reddish !!! Getting confused!!

What if the content of fruit adheres and cotton turn slight pinkish? Unlike in the video, it's practically not possible to get cotton no change in color right?

wipe orenges or pomegranate with cotton you will get same colour ...water check is correct method

Beloved i just bought a water melon for 17 pounds, it tasted funny to my sensitive taste so i run the test and the cotton turned red instantly. I believed the seller injected the watermelon because he guaranteed the sweetness and told me that i would return for another. I will be putting in the bin.

Minimum color of watermelon gets absorbed to the cotton ball... It cannot be completely unabsorbed... This video is misleading to the customer..

Since the watermelon is red color no matter what you rub on it will leave red color. Are you trying to say the a real watermelon would not leave and red color stain if you drop it on a white shirt??? I am assuming if it’s red it will leave a red stain. So how does that check the adulatory?

Organic is the only solution but what about the overly priced organic produce..how the poor can have access to it😢

The tragedy about our system is we take the strictest precautions while exporting and serve the worst to our peoples. Shame on this system! SHAME ON THIS SYSTEM! Every watermelon that I bought this season failed this taste. Breathe air and drink water. Oo sorry, we have highly polluted air with 300 above AQI in most of the times and extremely hard water.

Meaningless and completely misleading video. ALL ripe watermelons will leave pink/red blemishes on paper towel. The only ones that will not leave a residue will be unripe ones
