I attended Bishop Favors church when I was homeless in Dallas, Texas. Bishop Favors was laying hands on people all in a row, and the people were falling out, when he got to me, I didn't fall out. He looked me in the eye with this stern look and put his hand on my head again, and again I didn't fall out, I was taken to the back and admonished for my actions. I told them I wasn't going to fall out if I truly didn't feel anything. I never attended his church again and less than a year later he was found dead in the seedy hotel room. I knew when I was there at his church that he was a fake.

I have watched many Men of the Clergy fall, I personally meant Bishop Favors 2 years before his death, through my former Bishop Woods who also fell in a affair & had a Child. But First Lady (Pastor Favors) is doing a great work moving the church foward. The real thing is this Dawson BE Real and Genuine with God and Yourself. People fall when they feel they have arrived, pride and are not accountable to noone not even God. They think the Position will keep them from the temptations but the truth is Satan wants to walk you down,wear on your emotions and caught you at your moment of weakness. The key is staying humble and submitted unto God regardless of how God uses You. Keep your Spiritual walk strong to keep you running from your past with strength.

Look I have a cuzn who went into the ministry after his father, my uncle passed away...Now he really had no desire to be a pastor, but he allowed my aunt, his mother to push him into taking over the church right and bcoz he didnt like saying no to his mother he relented! After doing so he became extremely overwhelmed with the whole thing in spite of bringing hordes of young ppl into the ministry and even starting new ministries...It was so sad to see him be so sad and then he started using drugs to somehow "cure" the pain inside...But look once he saw that it wasnt the answer he went to his "elders" for help and told them that he wanted to talk to a therapist and those men actually told him that he was foolish, that he didnt need some "therapy!" That he just needed to get on his knees! WHAT??? That broke his heart & broke him down bcoz he trusted them for advice and a "more positive" word.....#TheBlackChurch🤔

I have one friend I’ve had for over 30 years that knows me inside and out. I can tell her anything and she will tell me the truth and she won’t judge me and she won’t turn her face away from That’s what everybody needs somebody that tells you about your stuff and tells you to clean it up and steal Love you unconditionally.

This is why I’m not in a rush to do ministry. The higher you go, the harder you fall. All these people in the church want to be pastors and bishops so bad, but lack the discipline and integrity to sustain them in those higher positions.

A lot of women that are in those kind of positions they enjoy their lifestyle and they will pretend they didn't know these things. But, the truth is alot of times they just don't want to give up that lifestyle and position they have became accustomed too.

Thank you, Lord, for my Pastor. He knew I was gay but loved me so much he told me when I was in my 20s no one not even him can judge me. That he began a good work will complete it not man. Even tho he doesn't agree him and his wife still love me. Which makes me want to do the right thing. One day at a time😇

Hello 👋🏾 Dawson I've MISSED You I hope and 🙏🏾 All is Well with You, Denise and your family. All I can say is this is such a very SAD and TRAGIC 💔😭 story. So MANY people STRUGGLE with being molested as children which MOST times lead to promiscuity, alcoholism, drug abuse, self sabotage, etc! A colleague and friend of mine just lost her brother to life long battle with Drug Addiction. Some people I know personally were addicted to drugs and were able to be delivered from it NEVER touched the stuff AGAIN! On the other hand like Whitney Houston, Corey Haim, Amy Winehouse just to name a few could NOT get the "Monkey" OFF their back! My deepest condolences, sympathy and prayers to his wife, children, family members loved ones and their church congregation.

@@sanjoserock1 find me scriptures that prohibits a woman from preaching, speaking, or prophesying. You can't use when Paul (1 Corinthians 14:34) was correcting the wives in the Corinthians church when he told them to be silent. In that case, he would have contradicted himself when he told women to cover their hair (1 Corinthians 11:5 ) while praying or prophesying. Prophesying is not being silent, and it's for all men, women, and children. Those who God has called, He also ordained. They will not stop at opposition.

Many active church members despised me for almost no reason, while a person at work, who obviously had no interest in the Lord, gave me a hug when I was upset. Some people be dealing with drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling, abuse and instead of seeking help or just talking about it they will say "I'm fine". Yes i live in Dallas and i remember Favors and his story. Dawson did you ever hear about another story in the DFW area involving a pastor/funeral director who was murdered in the early 2000s? I believe his name was Gregory Spencer

Dawson, first thank you for acknowledging your messiness. People don’t realize that women & men in the ministry are imperfect people trying to get it right…although they hold such titles. Different struggles are real and deep for many. Deliverance is also real, but when you can’t contain that back sliding spirit, and pride gets in the way of you reaching out for guidance, you become slipped between the cracks. This man should have had someone to confide in, and help hold him accountable. I had 2 years of therapy at age 52, that I should have had at age 8. Being from that black household it simply was not addressed. Because of that therapy, and the word of God, I am a happy 57 yr old Sis…and stronger in my walk with God! Therapy is A Good Thing. My condolences to this family 🌺

FYI: There are special therapy centers around the country specifically for spiritual leaders which address the need for privacy while seeking help for your issues. Pastors get help now!

Pastors need people to talk to as well.. As our Pastors are covering us, who is covering them? I do not condone what was done but we all have issues. We need more transparent and non judgmental people in the Church.

The congregation with prayers and other ministers who will hold them accountable. It’s pride that keep people from asking for help and stepping down when they know they either weren’t called by God or have moved away from him.

People are caught between those four walls. Our bodies are the temple--we should know this. Saints are struggling in their discernment, and some unable to hear what the Lord is saying within that temple (body) are becoming more desensitized than where we should be in this time. Prayers for the people.
