*Things you Missed: Revised Edition:* *Minigun:* It's not entirely clear _how_ Heavy fires the Minigun; a purchasable Minigun poster at the Valve store depicts a trigger in the far-rear handle; other media sources often show/suggest a small button on the front handle; neither of these are present on the in-game model. Heavy claims that the Minigun weighs 150 kg (~330 lbs), yet the real-life hand-held counterpart only weighs 39 kg (~86 lbs). Now for the elephant in the room: "[She] fires $200 custom-tooled cartridges at 10,000 rounds per minute. [Pause] It costs $400,000 to fire this weapon for 12 seconds." In-game Heavy fires a rate of 4 rounds per second, which totals up to 2,400 rounds per minute (rpm)...which is nowhere near the infamous $400k mark. (The actual cost is around $480,000/minute /$96,000 per 12 seconds). Now while we could blame him simply screwing up the math, I personally think it's a bit more likely that Valve made adjustments. "Meet the Heavy" was released on May 14, 2007; the actual TF2 Release date was October 10, 2007. I think it's quite likely that Valve had originally given the Minigun a _much_ higher rate of fire. This explains the claim that Sasha can fire 10,000 rpm, and, if you do the math, it turns out that at 10,000 rpm, $200 a round, means that firing the gun for 12 seconds would indeed match that infamous $400,000 mark. My guess is Valve nerfed Heavy at some point before his release. *The Iron Curtain:* In Poker Night at the Inventory, Heavy directly refers to _this_ gun as Sasha. When he fails to show up with money, and proceeds to bet with the Iron Curtain, he makes the following quote: _"I do not have this money... I did, but Sasha has been very good lately, and I wanted to get her gifts."_ Using a bit of assumption, we can assume that the Iron Curtain is actually the default Minigun with cosmetic upgrades. This would explain why it has identical stats to the standard Minigun. *Natasha:* It's Not Sasha! ..."not"..."Sasha"..."not Sasha"..."Natasha"...(I guess that one's a little obvious, but that said maybe some people haven't noticed that...) *Tomislav:* Old promotional artwork indicates the original name of the gun was "Black Market Brawler". The name "Tomislav" is derived from the Slavic verb "tomiti", meaning "to suppress". *Huo-Long Heater:* Not only does the name originate from the Chinese God, but apparently the word ""huolong" (火龍, huǒlóng) translates to "fire dragon". The TF2Wiki shows concept art before the gun got the requested overhaul. This included a large wooden box for a magazine with Chinese writing on the side, a pair of long whiskers on the face, and a pretty clean paint job. I wasn't able to find firm evidence, but (to me) the barrel of the gun and the receiver looks like that of an oversized Sterling SMG. (Opinion: I much prefer the cosmetics on the "beta" version of the Huo-Long Heater over the one we actually got. It looks so much nicer.) *Family Business:* Previously named "Soviet Stampede" and "Russian Riot". The phrase "Family Business" refers to crime families that operate within the Mafia. The Family Business looks a lot more similar to a Benelli M3 Super 90 than the Mossberg 500. (Most notable: M3 has a pistol grip very similar to the Family Business; the 500 lacks the pistol grip.) However, the 500 was designed in 1960, whereas the M3 was only produced in 1989. *Panic Attack:* Originally called "War Drum", The weapon's name is from a panic attack, which is a sudden feeling of intense fear and anxiety. A real version of the gun would have the drum _behind_ the pump. (Opinion: Speaking of which, what's the damn point of the drum if you load the gun like any of the other shotguns? It'd make more sense for a reload to consist of replacing the drum.) *Sandvich:* Most of the voicelines for the Sandvich had been recycled lines that were recorded (but ultimately cut) for "Meet the Sandvich". The festive wrapping depicts the TF2 classes as Matryoshka Dolls. *Buffalo Steak Sandvich:* Blah blah "buffalo are extinct" blah blah blah "American bison are incorrectly called buffalo" blah blah blah *Second Banana:* The item was submitted to the Workshop under the name "Battle Banana". It seems the creator's agree with the idea of using it for the showdown taunt: there's three images that show Heavy using the showdown taunt with the banana in hand. Missed opportunity, Valve. *Fists:* Bucket icons indicate that, at some point during TF2 Beta, Heavy would have had RED or BLU gloves over his fists (team-dependent), rather than black. *Killing Gloves of Boxing:* Blah blah blah "KGB is short for "Komityét Gosudárstvennoy Bezopásnosti" blah blah blah "USSR's foreign intelligence agency" blah blah blah...Heavy's taunt with the KGB is a nod to Mr. Sandman's warm-up technique from the game _Punch Out!!_ *Bread Bite:* According to the promo video "The Spoils of Love and War", the weapon is the result of a bread monster literally being torn in half by Heavy to be worn on his hands. The "head" of the monster (right "glove") occasionally makes vocalizations, sometimes turns its head to "look around", and will bite when throwing punches (whilst making an audible grunt). (Opinion: This probably my favorite weapon reskin in the game. It's such a shame that it got stats based off the GRU and not the KGB...) *Fists of Steel:* The original mod had a robotic sound play whenever Heavy threw a punch. Valve removed this before they officially added it to the game. Heavy also originally said the quote "My fists! They are made of steel!!" regardless of melee equipped. However, not long after the Fists of Steel were added, the game was modified so that this line only plays when using the Fists of Steel. Both the name and the quote are a nod to an infamous quote by Duke Nukem. ("I've got BALLS of steel.") *Eviction Notice:* Originally called "Soviet Slammers", the Eviction Notice originally was much different in design; it was to made of pewter instead of brass, had fresh blood on the spikes, and had the Mann Co. logo stamped on them. "Eviction" is the act of forcibly expelling someone from a property. The term, however, is a euphemism for murder in the Mafia. *Holiday Punch:* Uploaded to the Steam Workshop as "The Masculine Mittens", and included a "Ushanka style" that changed the team-colored wool to all black, with a 5-point yellow star replacing the snowflake. I probably wasted ~90 minutes typing all this. (To be fair, I always check my sources.) Now I gotta redo Engineer, do the Medic, and that should be it! _("Your comment is too long.
