TFDi Design 717: Flight Control Overview

In this video, our lead programmer goes over the flight control system on the TFDi Design 717 so far: the flaps system, the aerodynamically positioned ailerons, the aerodynamically positioned/hydraulically assisted elevator, and the spoilerons.

I misspoke when I said leading edge flap - they are leading edge slats. The simulator's flight dynamics engine does not provide a "slat" simulation - only leading edge and trailing edge flaps, so, internally, the slats are treated as leading edge flaps and tuned accordingly to provide realistic handling. -Collin

This is the kind of stuff that just blows my mind...How you can build code to simulate all of that stuff at the same time, it's just incredible.

This is absolutely amazing. I am going to have a very hard time waiting for this to be released, but you are doing a great job and I encourage you to keep up the great work and release a "study level" simulation of this 717. It will truly be a classic for many years. You might even look into making a version for X-Plane. If you do, I will buy all versions. More and more enthusiasts are also flying in X-Plane now. I fly in P3D and X-Plane and also FSX.

This is absolutely amazing. The 717 has always been my favorite commercial jet and I am an avid FSX simmer. Although I do primarily GA flights I could definitely learn and upgrade to jets, just to fly this baby. On the takeoff roll and climb does the buzzing noise occur from the Rolls-Royce's? That's like the 717's signature feature.

because of the throttel is textured with scratches you guys should make the flap lever the same gives it that old look in a way lol
