About 1 Year ago I saw my first ever Video on this channel, Mikhail #Tal vs Rashid N. Game 1, this game really impulsed me to start playing chess. Tal not was ignorant in opening theory, he have own style how to avoid the home preparations and force opponent to play fully on board, in realtime. This way not all Tal's combination was correct, but the solution is hard to find in game time.

The first time I ever saw a Tal game was an analysis of Tal vs Koblents by joshua waitzkin. Years later I saw your video of it too. It was a very important moment for me and my relationship with chess. Before that, all I had seen was principled, boring games from the likes of karpov, that is all my coach ever showed me. Realising that there is another, vastly beautiful side towards chess. The sheer complexity and beauty of that game was what generated a much deeper love and appreciation for the game in me. #tal

I wish he would show more AlphaZero games. Alpha is the God of chess and easily beats any master, even Tal or Carlsen for that matter.

zdes nikovo Engines have been better than GMs for decades, that's nothing new. Covering human chess and engine chess is just not the same thing, even though AlphaZero and LC0 admittedly do play more human-like than other engines.

@@davidcharles7106 There's no such thing as a sacrifice in chess. Everything is done with the goal in mind to checkmate the opponent. Any piece you send to die is a trade for the win. Not a sacrifice.

Actually, Tal would lose vs today's top 20 and never beat Carlsen in any format, simply because chess evolved too much, like any other sport. I love him the most among all players in history of chess, but even in his career, he got negative score vs majority of good positional players who didn't fall on his tricky style (Keres, Korchnoi, Petrosian and many more).

No. He would've found the inaccuracies in most of the sacrifices and wouldn't have tried all that in the real games.
