OMG, my mother's SAVORY cornbread dressing! I live for the holidays so that I can have some. All the adults, kids and grandkids agree - my mother even has to make it for the childrens' birthdays sometimes! One year everyone was sick and we actually postponed Christmas. We were all so upset and it was February before we were able to get together. So we had Mimaw's dressing in February and everyone got happy again, Lol!

Hi! I’m from Maine, and up here we call it stuffing. When we say dressing, we usually mean salad dressing. 😊 All of your recipes look great! Thanks for sharing... ❤️

The pineapple dish I’m gonna have to try!! Our traditional Thanksgiving meal is turkey and dressing and gravy Ham and raisin sauce Mashed potatoes Sweet potatoes or SP casserole and yam patties (my girls think it’s a must) Fresh green beans Fried corn Cranberry salad Cole slaw Potato salad Rolls Desserts pumpkin pie and pumpkin rolls. And we haven’t decided what else yet. I’ve got to try this carrot cake roll and see how it does.

My must-have Thanksgiving dish is my mama’s sweet potato casserole. She makes hers with the brown sugar and pecan streusel on top, not marshmallows. It is my absolute favorite thing ever.

My favorite side dish is my grandmother 's version of green bean casserole. She used flat Italian green beans, and diced canned tomatoes. Them topped it with grated parmesan cheese.

Thank you for the recipes! Our favorite dishes are dressing, broccoli casserole, and sweet potato casserole. All of my recipes were my mom’s, so they are very special, and hold many sweet memories for me.

Green bean casserole is my favorite, but in my family, we top ours with onion rings instead of the crunchy onions - it's so amazing! In fact, we are going to my sister's for Thanksgiving, and someone else is bringing the green bean casserole, so it won't be the same. I'm going to have to make one at home just for me!

I have a binder of family recipes collected over the years. I call it the Holiday Recipe Bible because if these dishes are not on the table, it's just not Thanksgiving. My great-grandmother's crescent rolls, my husband's grandmother's stuffing (that's what we call it because dressing refers to salad dressings in our minds), my aunts cheesy corn casserole, my husband's aunt's cranberry fluff salad, and the recipes I've tried on my family's very traditional palette and obviously made the cut are all in this binder. There's a maple whiskey smoked turkey, pumpkin cheesecake, and pecan pie. The only mainstream, American culture recipe that has made it into the binder is Libby's pumpkin pie. I like to use the puree not the mix so I can tweak the spice combo, but overall it's pretty much the same as the recipe on the can. As my dad would say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. And according to a food science documentary, it's next to impossible because Libby's has a patent on their hybrid of pumpkin. It's one of the very few short-cuts I use.

These look so good! I don’t actually have a favorite specific side dish that is had every year at Thanksgiving but there is a corn dish and a broccoli dish that we sometimes have that I love. ☺️

It all looks good... never tried the pineapple casserole dish before... the green bean casserole looks good too... I personally don’t like stuff or dressing but I’m going try to make a homemade one this year for thanksgiving dinner.. cause family likes it. I’m also going to make a cornbread salad which I love. And make a special kind of macaroni and cheese... For my macaroni cheese... I melt white American cheese with the tomato and green chili’s and a cup of milk. Stirring constantly so nothing is burning or sticking... after the cheese is melted and it’s mixed together well... I just pour it over my cooked macaroni .. it’s really good. You can also use the cheese for dip for chips or over cooked dishes you like.

We use stuffing and dressing interchangeably in our house. But, the proper term is stuffing if it is stuffed in the turkey and dressing if not. My favorite side dish is probably my mom's recipe for homemade cranberry relish- it's so good.

I call it Stuffing, but I heard someone say _it's only called stuffing when you're putting it in the Turkey, otherwise it's called "dressing"_ 🤷🏻‍♀️ You're making me hungry lol

Hi! I must say the Crock Pot Macaroni is a "must try." It looks so cheesy and yummy--good job on that!! 👍👍 A Thanksgiving side dish staple in my family is Southern Cornbread Dressing. My mom puts a few pieces of shredded chicken in her dressing and some pieces of chopped boiled eggs--with sage, parsley, and poultry seasoning. It is a must in my family! Also, I was told folks up North are accustomed to "stuffing" but folks here in the South are accustomed to dressing. I've even had a few of my Northern friends ask me, "What is dressing?" Lol! So it definitely varies depending on one's location and upbringing. 🍂🦃 - Vicky from S. Carolina

I have made the pineapple dish before and I love it! Love green bean casserole but have never made it. This one looks delish. I can't wrap my head around eating sausage dressing with turkey, but it looked good. I love my Mama's cornbread dressing. My Mama has passed on but my sister makes it. Great video!

Mashed potatoes are my son’s favorite food….actually he loves potatoes cooked most ways, but during the holidays I often peel 8-10 pounds of them, and since he is 99% vegan, I put aside half for him and the rest for the rest of us. He puts vegan butter in his, no milk though. I always heat up the milk and butter in the micro so it doesn’t cool down the potatoes before everything is on the table.

We always do the norm in KY....turkey, mashed tators, corn, green beans, mac n cheese, dressing, but we always...always gotta have pecan pie! And let's not forget the giblet gravy!

In the South (Alabama) it’s called cornbread dressing, I’ve never had Thanksgiving and it not on the table. Also make the pineapple casserole, it’s served in restaurants here. You have some good recipes, I leave off the green bean casserole and add sweet potatoe casserole. Thanks for sharing

You can put a wet paper towel under the cutting board so it doesn’t move. It helps me whenever I chop a whole bunch of stuff and it’s annoying that it moves around while I’m chopping.

Stuffing and dressing are totally different things imo lol. Stuffing is with bread (whether it's in or out of the turkey), and dressing is with cornbread! I'm in Georgia!

everything sounds so good! I definitely want to try that pineapple casserole. I’ve heard of it but I’ve never had it. I do love pineapple on my pizza LOL. I like the way you made the green bean casserole. My sister-in-law always brings the green bean casserole and… She uses frozen green beans and mushroom caps.😒 maybe this year she’ll let me bring the green bean casserole and I will try this recipe LOL.It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving at our place without my mom’s cornbread stuffing. We say stuffing here. The sausage and cranberry stuffing sounds amazing. Thank you for sharing all these recipes you’ve given me some new ideas.

Hey Jen, thanks for sharing. We use mayo in our mashed potatoes instead of cream cheese. Im going to have to try the cream cheese next time I make them. We call it dressing in our family. We live in Alabama. Oh my goodness, that pineapple casserole looked amazing!

Stuffing is stuffed in the bird or pork chops or whatever & dressing is cooked in a pan or dish.

Yes it is! I make dressing. We do not stuff our bird. We smoke the bird in a smoker and cook the dressing in the oven! Yum😀😁

Dressing: made with cornbread Stuffing: chunkier Lol best way I can say it. For me stuffing is just bigger in pieces and usually made with anything but cornbread. Dressing is always cornbread and finer in texture.
