Some people say there is only one "correct" and "American" way of celebrating Thanksgiving. But this rant proves Thanksgiving was pretty much a fabricated holiday anyway.

Oh so many people didn't get the joke and it's probably because they don't live in the US. "Sangiving" it's how our mothers, aunts... pronounce thanksgiving. "Sangiving" it's only celebrated by Latinos that live in the US!! That's way you don't have it in Brazil or have never hear it of it before in your country...

Cris Henriquez Bruh. My mom HATES turkey. We had it one year and she didn’t like it. Our church this year decided to give out food for those who signed their children up for Church school and they gave us a turkey. At least we’re going to Mexico in December because she doesn’t like spending Christmas here. Apparently it’s boring.

"Their people"? Christ, "Native Americans" aren't *a* people, they're like, hundreds of different cultures. The people who were (allegedly) murdered on Thanksgiving don't even exist anymore, and a Navajo, Cree or Lakota native today has less in common with the Algonquian people killed in Virginia back then than a Polish immigrant today would have with the British colonists killed by the French in the French-Indian war. Honestly, if a native american is "humiliated" by the fact that some white people celebrate a cheesy holiday based on the fact that their ancestors learned how to plow a fucking field four centuries ago by eating turkey, he's an idiot.

In spain I don't know if it's the same day because I don't know when is thanksgiving but it's about commemorating the people who died surround you like family and so and being thankful for the things we have, we do it the day after Halloween and it's called "el dia de todos los santos" it's like a fusion between "el dia de los muertos" (excuse me if I messed up with the name I don't know exactly how it's called in Mexico I only know whats about) and Thanksgiving. A lot less consumist than Thanksgiving I must say
@ishrod_tweaks6 жыл бұрын

kpoping your lifeu thanksgiving is towards the end of November and it has nothing to do with death nor anything like that it has to do with history of the United States and the pilgrims and stuff I️ never heard of it until I️ moved here(US) everyone seems to celebrate it no matter the culture it’s nice families get together and eat lol

In Perú there are not such a thing as thanksgiving but on Christmas Eve...boy, better buy something for your liver cause there are no chance you don't gain at least two kilos (4 pounds) for all the food you ingest at midnight: turkey, pork ribs, chicken, puré, salad and the stars of the table: the panetón a hot chocolate (witch is a foolish costume inherited from the Italians but we love it, even if we are at 30 °C) 😂 ah, almost forget the wine and champagne.

In Perú we don't celebrate thanksgiving or sangiving, is a non existing holiday. We do celebrate halloween (mostly kids and drunk people parties)/el día de la canción criolla Oct. 31, and the next days el día de los muertos/el día de los santos, skip thanksgiving and go big with Christmas and new year's eve.
