I went to the dentist and the dentist was younger than me, so I didn't know if I should treat her as "vos" or "usted" so I panicked and left... not really but it was weird.

"Adulting" it's a lot harder here in Venezuela.

I remember being 6 or 7 and just wanting to grow up to be able to have MY OWN MONEY (like if money starts falling from the sky when you grow up) so I could go and buy 30 BAGS of potatoes chips and plantain chips without having ANYONE telling me NO -insert tantrum-. Now, flash forward 19 years; at 25 you could buy all of that (if you had the money), and eat it... But do you really want all those calories in your body? Do you really want your cholesterol level to be even higher? Do you want to spend the night vomiting potatoes chips and having reflux? Do you want to then, go to work the next morning feeling like crap and having Cindy, the front desk girl telling you “oh you look terrible, are you ok?” No. You don’t. So you just hold off on those kiddo tantrums because, in the end, you won’t eat those 30 bags of chips. To me, that’s adulting. And it sucks.

I went to the supermarket and I had enough money to buy that Ice Cream I always wanted but then I realized that just because you have some money in hand that doesn't mean you're not poor so I took what I needed and saved the rest 'cause things are harsh.

Rant about how we as Spanish speakers either native or US Latino when speaking English with an American accent we sometimes use our Spanish accent in some words because they sound better in the Spanish way than English. For example, “I am from Venezuela” (Vene-SWE-la) NOT (Vene-ZWAY-la) because it sounds weird to me

Pro: Having a living space that is yours to do with what you will! Con: I've put myself through school twice now to try and live my dream but all I can do is work this 40 hour a week job to be able to pay my student loans from getting 2 degrees and my rent for this shit hole apartment that is all I can "technically" afford while not having a savings account that has anything in it or an active, guilt free, social life.....but I got to decorate my apartment, right?!.....actually not yet. I'm waiting on my tax return. #adulting

Adulting is a nightmare, based on a book adultish I am NOT an adult. I am a teacher, pay bills yet don’t drive and still live with my parents. My student are like why do you still live with your parents you must be rich! That was a teachable moment I taught them about my salary, the money I actually get after taxes, money I spend on my classroom, student loan, credit cards, to explain why I live with my parents. What my students got from that lesson “I don’t want to be a teacher Ms.” I agree sometimes I don’t want to be a teacher because I will be poor for the rest of my life. Fact

Hey Joanna, Love your show. I started adulting when I was 20 (which was scary as hell!). But now I got this shit down!!! I'm in my mid 30's and now I adult when I want to, which is very powerful. I am more of a kid now then when I was a kid. Plus this new attitude helps me enjoy my kids which are 11 and 6 years old. By the way, I'm not rich or anything like that but have plenty of experience in living a balance life.

I'm a 23 y/o doctor and I've been working full time in a surgery specialized clinic for 4 months, and it's 80% administrative work and 20 % medicine... I HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA about any of the paperwork I have to do... The only time I know what I'm doing it's when I'm in the OR.

Depression. When I was a teenager I just thought I was bored of everything and everyone and could stay in bed without any real consequences. Now it impacts my life and creates a whole lotta mess; learning to cope with it is what is making me an adult, I think.

I am 23 years old. I am almost done with my STEM degree, I am looking for internships, I lost my job because the grocery store I worked at closed down, and I have to get my driver's license in May. I also take summer classes. I am hoping that I will get my dream job of being a GIS analyst after graduating, and go to graduate school for meteorology. The millennial generation, our generation, is struggling with student debt, job uncertainty, and struggling to pay bills. Many of us live at home with our parents because we can't afford to move out. We work and pay off our student debt, then leave our parents' house; OR we live with roomates to have a better cost of living and pay the student debt off faster.

I don't pay my bills yet, so I'm not an adult but that part of the teacher doing shrooms really got me. I'm in college and I'm studying to become a teacher and it is crazy to see some of my friends going on about being teachers, then stop it and hit a blunt and say some shit. Like, as a child it was really that sense of security when you were with an adult. A teacher knew about what he/she was talking about. A police officer was a bastion of truth and could never break the law. Now I know that probably at least once my teacher was teaching in class with a hungover. It is crazy.
