+1 for Chris Cain..he really is something else..not tps material though..he plays a 335 straight into a musicman amp..not even reverb..but what a phenomenal player..oh and he sings like BB too..

Echoing many of the comments here already, but this one’s up there with the Joey Landreth ‘episode’. When TPS exceeds the sum of its parts; Mick’s journalistic and analytical skills, Dan’s tech know-how and passion, mixed with wonderful and soulful musical expressions from awesome players and great technical solutions united in a common quest for tonal bliss. Remarkable.

This could be the description for That Pedal Show and what makes it so special. Earlier this week I introduced the show to a local guitar legend: mayor, business owner, guitar/amp collector, and weekly musician. He will really enjoy this episode.

Extremely underrated guitarist. Kirk is so natural - and humble as a player. I love to hear someone walk lightly over a song and not over-play, and that's Kirk. Truly great!

Good lord, enjoying a rewatch of this episode after spending the day redoing my board. Two things - Mick, your skill as an interviewer should not be overlooked, you ask some great questions and make the best of each guest. Bravo! Secondly, this show is completely responsible for me rediscovering my love for electric guitar after yonks of playing acoustic. In the last 2-3 years I’ve gone from zero to too many pedals and loving it all. My first QMX switcher was installed today and I had the same revelation that Kirk did by the clarity and lack of noise. You guys are ace! Thanks!

What a remarkable show! These Pedal Show interviews will become an important archive. Already are. Dan and Mick are, straight up, fine guitarists themselves. They ask guitarist questions and in this setting (with this audience), aren't afraid of getting too guitar nerdy. These are the good times. Good on ya, everyone involved.

Fascinating to hear Kirk on Blue, because THAT - the general basic tone, not the playing, god knows - is the kind of sound that comes out of a Strat when I try to play it, and I've wondered if Blue was some magical anomaly. But no, as Dan says, it's Micky Magic and his completely unique touch and feel. As great as Kirk is, one of my main takeaways here is how utterly unusual and wonderful our Mick makes a Stratocaster sound.

A little late to comment but I was just able to watch this. Thank you for introducing me to Kirk Fletcher - a phenomenal player! He has what a wise formally-trained musician once referred to as "rhythmic authority" and what I would call groove: perfect time but it breathes.
