Patsy Cline has one of the best country voices around. Patsy had so many great hits such as "She's Got You", "When I Get Through With You", "So Wrong", "Leavin' on Your Mind", "Walkin' After Midnight", "I Fall To Pieces" "San Antonio Rose", "Blue Moon Of Kentucky", "Half As Much", "He Called Me Baby", "Faded Love", "Imagine That". She was only 31 when she died in a plane crash in 1963. In 1985 Jessica Lange starred in the movie about Patsy's life called "Sweet Dreams. You reacted to Home Free's version of "Crazy" awhile back.

Sweet Dreams was a great movie. Jessica was great as Patsy, as was Ed Harris as her husband. Shows a very different Patsy to how people would have pictured her.

Willie Nelson wrote the song, her husband was drinking with Willie and Willie played the record he made and her husband wanted to go play it for Patsy at midnight while they were both half drunk. Willie said she came out after hearing it and cut the track the next day. The rest is history

I saw an interview with another country singer (forgive me I can’t remember who) that Patsy wasn’t a fan of the song after having to sing it a million and one times 🤷♀️

@@armywife1641 I think Patsy died less than 3 years after the recording of the song. Maybe the star was tired of singing Crazy?

@@chrissiler6075 You know, people come on the internet and make everyone believe they are an authority on this or that individual, like you saying, "maybe she was tired of singing the song"!!! Ridiculous!! So let me also be an authority on Patsy Cline. I have gleaned my information from some of the you-tube videos dealing with Miss Cline's life, especially those where her husband is interviewed (you could have done the same). Miss Cline entered the recording studio shortly after her accident still showing physical signs of that accident. When Patsy Cline first heard the song she didn't particularly care it. It took a long one day or two day session (this is where my memory fails me) to finely hit the interpretation she liked. And the rest is history!

Willie Nelson wrote and recorded this. Patsy took it to a sophisticated, jazzy place. Don’t see this in modern County. Live in Tennessee and keep my finger on the radio station change button constantly, seeking anything close to this level of excellence. Most stations are the cookie cutter, pop, overly produced, boring crap. Mix that in with the screaming preachers and I usually just meditate while driving. Patsy was one in a million 🌞

The backing vocals by the Jordanaires appeared on all of Patsy Cline's Decca sessions from her first in November 1960 to her last in February 1963, during which time they backed her on songs such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, Walkin' After Midnight. They are widely known for providing background vocals for Elvis Presley in live appearances, recordings, and feature films from 1956 to 1970.

The richness & warmth of her voice almost puts me in a trance. You already did my favorite, "Sweet Dreams". Now you need to hear "I Fall to Pieces", another huge hit. And her hits attained legendary status, as did the lady herself.💙🌿

She's fantastic. My strongest memory of this son was in the movie Nell staring Jodie Foster in the 90s it's when I really fell in love with this song and it's stuck with me ever since. Will sing this when my family jam together.

What I especially love is that not only did Willie Nelson write it, but his original title for it was "Stupid". I almost wish he had kept that as the lyrics. "Stupid... I'm stupid for feeling so lonely..." 😂

This was a one and done, once she recorded this song, there were no other versions. Everyone loves the song and has covered and tried and failed to come near this perfection. Fine to sing it as a tribute, but no one is ever going to do it better. Even Willie Nelson who wrote it and had his own hit didn't try to sing it in Patsy's style. Also, the backup by the Jordonaires who also backed up Elvis and Brenda Lee among many others and that Nashville song make this a preservation of perfection in time.

Hi. The video you reacted to here is an audio dub from the original record. It's also on KZfaq in its original live version, from the 1961 TV appearance. That's what was used for the video portion. I like the way Patsy Cline sang "Crazy", but I do think Angelina Jordan sang it better. Regards from Long Island, NY.

today we have the Taylor Swift imposter singers. Patsy was on TV and Radio when I was just a 10 yr old boy. I didn't understand why all my relatives on the farms were in tears. I was just a boy. Her airplane left my hometown of Kansas City and all died. But, I didn't know about death then until November 63.
