Welcome to my video on the 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XLE PREMIUM! This gas-saving SUV has the class and comfort above the pack, but at only a slightly higher cost. With standard moonroof, fog lights and power hatchback, the packages offered only get better from there. And check out the wheels!
In this video we will cover the exterior, engine and drivetrain, then make our way inside to talk about the space and style in the 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XLE PREMIUM.
We will go over some of the features unique to this RAV4, compare it to it’s close sister (the XLE), and then take it for a drive.

I have a 2022 Rav4 hybrid XLE Premium with a Lunar Rock exterior color and have a lot of upgrades, I have never owned a hybrid before but heard that Toyota is the king of hybrids so I bought one and love it and getting 69.8 MPG.... around town

Excellent informative video Brian! Not sure why I haven’t seen any of your videos recently. I think I would agree with you on the RAV XLE Premium Hybrid! I really do like the smoked chrome wheels. The Softex seating would be my personal preference over the real leather. I say that because I believe the Softex would wear longer than real leather. However I treat my Cockpit Red leather interior about every 2 weeks. This was definitely informative! Hope all is well! My 2021 Camry XSE Hybrid is still flawless! Mark in Iowa.

I bought this today. It's a great car but like you said when it's on eco it's really slow, when it's on normal it's meh, when it's on sport that's when the car shines. Once this car engine is broken-in, I will only drive it on sport/normal. I just can't do eco, it kills me. Awesome review and details! Love your content.

Love the wheels, same ones on my Limited! Been thinking of adding the side molding but not sure I like the looks, however added protection is good. I try parking away from other cars lol! Don’t know why Canada doesn’t get roadside assist! Ugh road sign assist! Auto correct gets me every time! Great video!

In our recent car search, we also test drove the Kia Sportage. Nice little car, but the biggest complaint we had was the lack of buttons, and that there was too much screen. I love having more accessible buttons rather than trying to flip through a screen.

@@brianruperti Hello, Forgot to mention one thing, it would have been a great help. if you add more features of the trunk door. While I was returning from shopping, accidentally I pressed the trunk open on my key without realizing I opened it. Came to my driveway and open the garage and parked the car. Here you go! All glass on the trunk door crumpled on the ground. Was terrible! There was no warning like doors open. Strange. Somebody told me we can adjust the height. I need to look at the manuals, I guess. I wish there was no open button on the key and a warning sign in my front. Just wants to let you know this. Thank you so much!😄

Love my 2022 rav4 xle premium hybrid, getting 44.7 mpg after 1200 miles, the nutmeg interior is beautiful. Subjective, the soft-Tex seats are a bit hard after 30 minutes; a memory foam cushion resolved it. Enjoy the JBL system and overall quality.

Great content as always. I drive 2019 RAV4 Limited and I learned all the buttons from you! Lol. Quick question- It's time for new tires on my 2019, you have any tire recommendations?

Thank you! Glad to be of help. I recommend whatever tires the car came with the car as a replacement but I know many people will chime in here and disagree. I’m still learning a lot about tires. For example. Tacoma guys will comment all day long and say to get the KO2s or the Grabbers which are nice tires but they are more speciality tires for rugged performance. This may take away from what the truck was designed to do, light off roading and highway commuting with ok gas mileage. The change in tires changes my truck to more off roading and less highway killing my gas mileage. So if I stay with the tires the factory gave me, I can trust it will perform how Toyota wants it to. But upgrades are always enjoyable. Just keep in mind your car may change a lot when you change the tire.

I'm glad that Toyota keeps the traditional shifter knob, unlike some of the new Hondas. Old school knobs & shifters help you keep your eyes on the road. Practical.

I like separation (modularity) cause then you can upgrade stuff without being a night mare. Now over all I don't care if it's all in one if it's done well (look at the upper trim gen 1 Nissan leafs on how not to do it)

I definitely prefer separate HVAC control. If the complex screen fails you’ll loose climate control. Bravo Nice video, thanks for sharing.

I’m going to get my first suv car, i.e. xle premium hybrid today, nutmeg interior and blue exterior, with loaded packages. It’s pricey since high in demand and less production from factory. $41,375 before taxes and delivery charge. Hope it goes well. Hope your demonstration will help me to navigate this new car. Congrats that’s a very tasteful color combo! You’ll love the car. Don’t forget to change/clean your hybrid battery filter at the specified intervals! It’s right under your back seat and so easy to do 👌🏼

I just bought this car in September and wish I’d watched all your videos beforehand (wouldn’t have changed my decision at all but I like having enough info to feel like I’ve done my research properly). I’m new to driving and would love a more detailed video on the different drive modes and examples of when it’s appropriate to use each. Also if sport mode is the most powerful will it put the most wear & tear on the engine/parts? Thank you for these videos they’re great - keep up the excellent work!

Rented XLE RAV4 for 3 mos. Great car/MPG - buzzy 4cyl. Precollision / traffic alert helped.. Auto up/dn windows standard. 👍Ok 7” radio - 9” perfect. You can lock/unlock the car from rear hatch. Cargo room decent - much more than Venza sibling. I like the comfortable cloth seats and cool AC. Good console - prefer buttons. 👌Video 👌

What’s the biggest differences of this xle hybrid vs se hybrid? Is it really that much cheaper with the technology package compared to se hybrid and technology package? To me I see the bright black fenders and side skirts including black 🛞 wheels.

Yes they’re very close cousins but the big difference besides styling on the SE is the sport tuned suspension

31:15 One thing I have not seen explained in detail: Why do some Rav4’s have the dial for Sport/Eco and others have button controls? I personally love the dial. Without it you get this weird coin holder cup that feels out of place. Is that something that is model specific? Something you can request installed? Seems silly but when buying the car I want to have all the features I like :X and I dislike that coin cup on the controls.

Yes so Toyota does the dial on the higher end RAV4s like hybrid adventure and XSE. The dial even lights up. The square buttons with the funny Nick-nack holder do the same thing, just diff style. You can always throw a lucky charm in that weird pocket! Hope that helps explain.

Use the steering arrows to go onto your SETTINGS menu in the MID and then access the BSM and select ON. I hope that helps.

Let's say I want those wheels on an Xle base model. What will be the process. They gave us options to purchase them individual? Or it just comes only for premium. Those wheels looks gorgeous!

They’re awesome wheels. Depends on your dealer. Chances are you’re ordering the wheels (and tires) separate from the parts department and having them installed. Chances are slim you’ll ever see an LE from the factory with those wheels.

I work from home and only drive 10,000 km per year. Is it still a good idea to get a hybrid? I heard hybrid cars needs to be driven often to make sure the battery doesn't die.

I’m not sure about the driving to keep the battery alive thing I’d have to look into it. At 10k per year you’d have to go by many years to get your money back w a hybrid but the smoother ride may be worth a few extra bucks

Just push it when you’re on a dirt or gravel trail! The AWD will adjust for the trail.

I completely disagree on the ribbed door handle. I think it adds a weird texture where I don’t want in my hands when using it. I also don’t believe ribbed textures give confidant and secure feel but hey that’s just me

In Canada, we don't have Hybrid XLE Premium, XLE Premium only comes in as an option with a gas engine. Too bad for us.
