The 2025 #SubaruForester has been fully redesigned and as one of the most popular models in the segment and one of the best-selling vehicles in the #Subaru portfolio, the new generation takes the #ForesterTouring into luxury like levels with premium materials, better tech, and more luxury touches. While we are still waiting for the upcoming #ForesterHybrid to show up in a year, this new #Forester should continue to appeal to the faithful looking for a comfortable, practical, and capable compact SUV.

Happy Monday everyone! The wait is finally over and our full review video on the redesigned Forester is now live! While this is still not the quickest or most fuel efficient option in the segment, if you don’t want a complicated hybrid or turbo engine and just want a pure ICE vehicle, it’s hard to beat the combination from this new Forester.

@@Hallowsaw not sure which model you have but the steering and suspension of the forester is extremely responsive compared to other vehicles. If it had more power, it’d be a really fun vehicle to drive. I’ve never driven a Mazda but from the reviews, I imagine that’s what it would be like with its handling and more power.

You mentioned the take rate for the old Forester Turbo was not high. The issue with the old Turbo was it used Premium fuel. Put the 2.4 liter turbo from the Outback in it (using regular fuel) and it will sell.

@@letzgow6110 The only people that are buying those cars are long time brand loyalists for life and young kids getting WRX. They have no way to attract new customers. This is not 1980's, anyone coming from a half decent car after sitting in one of their cars will leave. Most of customers buy with emotions, those cars don't invoke any. That company has no vision, stuck with the same worn out motto for ages. What they project as "rugged" is a combination of bad looks, hard plastics, cheap materials and bad infotainment. Reliability is also not there, from imminent head gasket failures, coolant leaks to oil consumption and now excess RTV in oil pan seal getting sucked into engine. I get it that they don't have resources of big car companies. but instead of making 10 crappy models, they should make 3-4 excellent and innovative ones and build from there, otherwise they will be stuck in the same loop making mediocre people movers forever. Look at Koreans, they dug themselves from bottom of the pack, overcoming bad reputation and are now cranking highly desirable vehicles that have style, comfort and technology. Sure they have some duds (2.5 is a dog) and their dealership service is an utter disgrace but their 1.6T and hybrid models are pretty good.

Owner of a ‘19 Sport w all the options here. I really enjoy my Subie. I’ve actually off-roaded in it, traveled cross-country, commute, you name it. Has been totally trouble-free. This new one does NOT give me “want this” or “ooh an upgrade.” Soooo many shared parts, barely anything new. And IMO they made the Forester uglier w the facelift and even uglier with this “all new” model. I still think the ‘19 serves “unfussy utilitarian boxiness” but that’s all subjective. Curious about if any current owners get any desirous tingles from the new model. Also I know a lot of time has passed and the days of getting a great deal on a new Subaru has passed, but I got my fully fully loaded Sport new for 30k even. I don’t think, if I was in the market today, 40k for this model would be at all tempting.

Yes. Wife owns '22 Forester and loves it, I want to trade in '20 CRV Touring for this. Reasons: 1) 360 camera for parking. Can't see my front end in the CRV 2) Less road noise 3) Aspirated seats in hot climate. 4) Much better stereo. 5) CRV infotainment operation is a mess. 6) This has better ground clearance for flooded streets. I don't care at all about 0-60 times or gas mileage. I'm semi-retired and only put on 8-10K miles a year.

Not loving the Mpg though. One thing I wasn’t a fan of my forester was that when I drove to visit my cousin he lived on a hilly road and putting power to that thing was like I strangling it to breathe to make it up he hill. Now with my outback it has no issues. When the new Outback gets redesigned I will make the decision if I am staying with Outback or the forester gang. I recently was able to sit in one of these newer Subaru vehicles with that size of center screen, but what I found to be problematic with it is the portrait orientation. Seems nice, but the size of the backup camera screen, in effect, is the same size as my 2014 Civic's screen. I'd prefer a horizontal style screen for larger viewing. Excellent overview. For me it comes down to the Forester vs the CRV. Both at about the same price at the top trim I believe. Agreed, a hybrid should have been introduced at the initial offering; faster and better gas mileage. Maybe not enough incentive as is to trade in our 2019 Forester Limited.

So glad I got the 2017 Outback, just before the steering wheel redesign and the eventual move to side by side cup holders (for some reason cup holders are a pet peeve of mine). I also got the base model (25k) which didn't have the eye sight tech, I can drive myself thank you. In this Forester I like the rear view camera and things like blind spot and cross path detection, but other stuff like giant screens and start/stop engine is just annoying. And I'll take physical controls over screen controls any day of the week. I would also want to see the rear seats lay completely flat like my Outback, probably just keep it forever.

The SUV was never meant to be a race car. The 8.5 0-60 is not really slow. It will not challenge a current Corvette, though in 1985 & 86 the 0-60 would match the Corvette V8. If packed with gear and four people inside, while being at 5,000 foot elevation, you might have a problem. I guess at that point the turbo is needed, and I will agree with you. Of course the gas mileage goes down and long term reliability might go down -- hard to say.

This thing looks like its inflated. Even the d-pillar looks like it's splitting from being inflated. It's 10+ seconds to 60 for 40k? That's a hard "No".

41k for a 180 hp awd SUV? and it looks like that? Why did they completely move way from the tradition styling. It looked so good before. now it looks like a last generation ford edge. so this is competeting with a RAV4 TRD offroad that is 3 k cheaper 21 more horsepower, looks better and is more reliable? Subaru wtf

I heard the seats no longer recline the 2 inches for safety purposes and high-speed accidents. They are more rigid allegedly

Over $40000 for a vehicle that can barely get out of it's own way? At $40000 most competitiors come with a turbocharged/hybrid powertrain. I think the last gen looked better as well. I think Subaru is going overboard with some styling cues.

It kind of looks like a Ford Explorer as it is right now. Wish it offered an XT trim. I'm spoiled by the 268 HP my WRX has.

Sorry, this thing is snail slow. It is way too underpowered. If you are merging onto the highway, trying to pass (especially in a mountain type of environment) you are living dangerously with this low power output.

@@NoName-gv6nm Been driving for a long time pal. Probably longer than have been alive. I've lived in the busiest cities with the heaviest traffic. I grew up spending a lot of time in the mountains driving in various conditions. I know a thing or two about driving and the power that is required at altitude to merge and tow trailers. Sounds like you probably own one of these weak ass Foresters or something similar.

Another great review Sofyan. Thank you for that. But, lost interest in the middle of the video due to Subaru misses in this new 6th gen Forster. Thank you!!! I have a 3rd generation, 2011 Forester XT Touring. I have to say the last generation, 4th, has kept its value as in resale. But, not worth the upgrade for me to get the last 2018 Forester XT Touring with turbo boxer. Besides the "new" tech and safety features not worth the $41K with a puny engine. Another disappointing generation, 6th gen. Way to go Subaru. You know what would be nice. If Subaru would put a Turbo boxer engine with hybrid in the Forester Wilderness edition.

To make it a dream car Subaru needs to fix front/rear design, bring back XT engine, make it a bit longer to be sleepable, bring back control knobs, get rid of shiny plastic inside. Not asking about the CVT, this probably will never go away.

looks nice and would have considered it, but power is just not enough. Something like this, you need about 250 hp to move it around. Merging into highways will be difficult with 180 hp

This only makes sense in the Sport down trims. Anything more than that begs for a better engine. Too slow, too inefficient and would be too expensive. The looks are fine, it actually reminds me of the 1st gen cause it looks so boxy. Overall if you get this in premium trim it’s a decent deal. Anything else there are just better options. If prices don’t drastically increase I think it will continue its sales numbers
