700HP from a LSA 6.2L is super easy to make. LS9 cam, under drive pulley,Tune, and a bigger intake is all that's needed. You could get that done for less than $3000.

The 628 HP Dinan M6 is a stroker kit. I'm not sure you can run the stroker kit in conjunction with the supercharger, but if you can, it's probably closer to 800 HP. However, even a base BMW M6 is over $100,000. The stroker kit (installed) is another $30,000, and the supercharger package from Dinan is $20,000. All that together is more than double the price of the 700 HP CTS-V from Hennessey.

dude when the zl1 won that 1st round i was like oh SH1T!!!!!! the cts had more power but somehow the zl1 pulled it off. but when the 3 dudes jumped up in the cts v i was really laughing! cmon this is SO cool! anyway we look at it chevy/GM rocks! now if only they can make a stock zl1 with 700 to shut up the hellcat and gt500. go GM! they should make a deal with hennesy and make some 700 andd 850hp limited edition versions just for the hardcore enthusiasts like me and many other drag racers out in the crowd.

The exhaust sound is amazing

Calling someone fat is literally the laziest way to insult someone, and reeks of lack of creativity. Just because cost is taken into consideration doesn't mean we won't do expensive cars. A tuned Lamborghini is expensive, but when you compare it to other cars with similar performance (I.E. Pagani Zonda, Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari Enzo, etc), it's a very good value for money. And as the host and PRODUCER of the show, yes, I make the show.

Doesn't really matter if your car has 700 horsepower when it weighs over 2 tons.

Great video, the smile on John's face says it all...it's fun. And he's right, some of these foreign car companies don't leave alot of reliable horsepower on the table. If you stress these smaller motors too much it's a go then blow situation. I don't have time for that rebuild it every weekend crap...

Thanks Abdul, I'll check out SLP and Lingenfelter too. I plan to get the new 2014 Camaro Z/28 and was considering having it tuned right out of the factory. I reached out to Hennessey first after seeing a promo Jay Leno did with him. I also saw Howard Tanner (Redline) out there, but I didn't reach out to him yet. I'll keep doing research! Had a 2013 CTSV coupe with Hennessey HP700. Bought it with 5k miles for cheap and sent it in for the package. Best thing I ever did. Sold it to a friend so its still in the fam. Had to get another car.

both car are super clean. thats the first station wagon i seen thats worth getting cant beat the style and power of a wagon and camaro is extra loud that i also like. i have a 08 trailblazer ss and it would be nice to see a hennessey tbss only cause i havent seen or heard of one yet. wish i had the cash to be the first one to do it in 2013 it was be really nice

I was replying to the point of the M3 being less tune-able than the ZL-1. Both cars have nearly identical base prices, but to get to the 700 HP level, you're going to spend a lot more money with the M3. That's a valid point when the difference is the price of a whole other car.

Yup, would love to help anytime. I own a 2ss, myself. I know the Z/28 is way more than the SS. I would recommend that you use it stock initially as it is a LOT of power to begin with. When you start to get used to it, upgrade it. My previous car was 250HP and going to 426HP was a really big deal. Controlling the car and stuff is not as easy as i thought it would be. Especially when having traction control off. Good luck with the Camaro. It's an amazing car.

yes, but on a dollar-for-dollar ratio, the ZL1 is a much better value for similar performance. The total cost of the ZL1 with HPE package is around $75,000 out the door. The VF engineering M3 was, as tested, nearly $120,000.

We've said this many times: traveling is expensive, and if we get on a plane, we have to make at least 4 episodes to make the flight financially work out. Hennessey tunes a wide variety of cars and gave us full access to his demo fleet. So when we went there, we took advantage of the situation and drove a few different cars. That's all.
