8:15 Back to the benefits of bile salts
The gallbladder is very important. It helps you store and concentrate bile salts. Your liver and friendly bacteria also make bile. About 95-97% of all the bile the body makes is actually recycled.
Typically, when people take bile salts as a supplement, they take them with a meal or just after they eat. Bile salts can help with bloating, belching, burping, and nausea. The primary function of bile salts that most people know of is the extraction of fat-soluble vitamins from the fat in your diet. However, there are many other benefits of purified bile salts. There are also benefits of taking them on an empty stomach.
For the benefits of bile salts below, I believe it may be best to take them on an empty stomach. I would take one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
9 potential benefits of purified bile salts:
1. Bile salts can help decrease the risk of gallstones
2. Bile salts can help you extract fat-soluble vitamins (A, E, D, and K) and omega-3 fatty acids
3. Bile salts can help with constipation
4. Bile salts can help you convert thyroid hormones
5. Bile salts can act as a VDR agonist
6. Bile salts can help decrease pain
7. Bile salts can help reduce the risk of SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth)
8. Bile salts can help reduce liver inflammation
9. Biles salts can help reduce the toxic load and help regulate excess cholesterol

It seems quite interesting that I was seeing oncology gastroenterology endocrinologist and a gynecologist and none of them can answer why my body was behaving the way that it was. I had my thyroid removed in 2000 and my gallbladder in 2010 so their answer now it was hysterectomy 😆 I said no thank you and then they shut the world down and 2020. Plus I've been to nursing school and alternative medicine School and they don't talk about any of this stuff.

40 years of quacks tellingme I'm a medical anomilly that they can't help, but can only treat symptoms, and 3 years ago I found Dr. Berg's videos concerning symptoms I was having that I was dying from ... I took the advice in he video figured I'm dying anyway what do I have to lose, and in just a few days my life threatening symptoms began improving! I will be forever grateful for your caring videos that break everything down to a simplistic understanding of how everything functions in a chain reaction. I started life with an inherited auto immune disorder and food allergies. My mother didn't think it necessary to change my diet, so the inflamation created malabsorbtion and chronic constipation. Developed into multiple deficiencies ... add some traumatic life events into the mix and a hyper active adrenal system began to rule my life. I began suffering transient strokes and nerve sheath damage. i could barely get out of bed even to use the toilet. Then I found Dr Bergs videos and ordered the product he recommended. Within 2 days I began improving enough in my adrenal system where I could get out of bed and gradually begin functioning in life again. Then I began watching all of his videos about all the other areas I was experiencing major issues, one by one my body is being healed and I am almost a fully functioning person again. Although I still suffer food allergies and chronic hypersensitivities and intolerances, I am better equipped to manage them to continue functioning and stay as healthy s possible. Just thank you Dr. Berg.

Good for you!! Bring down, re-think or eliminate everything that stresses you. I use Rescue Remedy. Any good health food store has it. Ask them how to use and store the drops. When I'm stressed I take a few drops under the tongue. Tastes fine. Fine for pets too. I give it to my dog during thunderstorms. They have a spray and gummies but I use the dropper. Only Hemopathic I need. All the best continuing your health journey. My story is very, very similar similar to yours. Kate

Man you nailed it Doc. I'm recovering from autoimmune problems and liver/gallbladder issues. Taking bile salts on an empty stomach, adding cod liver oil, doing a low carb diet and correcting my omega 3 to omega 6 ratio have helped tremendously. I can eat red meat again, although I'm not totally healed yet. I know lots of people on your videos are singing your praises but the information you have given us is nothing short of life saving. I've been telling everyone I know to watch your videos. I hate suffering needlessly and I hate seeing others suffer needlessly. You've connected so many dots for me in the past couple of months that I would have gladly paid for.. if I could have found a natural health doctor or any doctor that could have told me this stuff. I've spent literally thousands of dollars in the medical system, supplements and on alternative medicine that I could have bought a new car. Now, I know exactly what to do and I am eternally grateful to you for this. Have a wonderful day and I hope to meet you one of these days because I believe you are a good soul.

Omg this video is actually life changing for me... Crohns with known history of disease in the terminal ilium, hypothyroid, hypo parathyroid, low vitamin D, and now chronic hepatitis... I keep asking my dr to check my gallbladder because I’m chronically severely bloated, can barely eat and keep gaining weight, but it keeps being shrugged off. I’m desperately hoping taking bile salts will be the answer because it sounds so on track with my own suspicions of what’s going on with my body. I also work in pathology and this video was hugely motivating for me to continue onto my MD. Thank you so much for making such an informative video. I wish all drs had the sense to break down and explain these things to their patients. Absolutely brilliant. ❤️

Dr Berg, You are a very, clear and amazing teacher and doctor. I'm 69 years young, successfully using your plan. I worked as medical education coordinator in a required 4 year mentoring program at an Ivy League University Medical School. What you teach should be required education for all medical students. Thank you for all you are doing for patients who feel unheard by health care providers, especially when all patients really want is a diagnosis and positive plan so they can participate fully in their wellness, while understanding their bodies. My gallbladder was removed in 2018. I had 1 gallstone the size of a pebble (.669 x .5 x .669), and I expressed concern about weight gain due to the gallbladder's function. The surgeon told me there was nothing to worry about. I wish I had came across your videos because I would've never gone through with the surgery. The organs we're born with all serve a purpose. That I can recall I never had an issue with inflammation throughout my joints until my gallbladder was removed. You've answered so many of my questions and suspicions. I'm now doing Keto and would like some advice or at least pointed in the right direction. Thank you very much for all of your insight, knowledge, and willingness to share. I suffered for 6 years with GB pain and finally had it removed. I tried many natural remedies, such as the apple juice fast, 3 days, ending with a mixture of olive oil and lemon juice, afterward which I eliminated gallstones. The problem kept recurring. It was actually caused by my LOW FAT diet! I even took Turkey Rhubarb drops. Nothing worked. I finally had the GB taken out, sadly. 1996. I have since really suffered with insulin resistance and weight gain. Just yesterday I began to take TUDCA. Good luck to us both! I just realized the full program of HEALTHY Keto, as apposed to generally discussed "Keto". I have been eating higher carbs during my window of eating. Today is a new day! I had already lost 6 # Since January 2nd, 2023 and stopped losing. I use the fresh squeezed lemons with Dr. Berg's electrolytes, which keeps me on track, resolving the "Keto Flu"

@@3SeasonsUSA My gallbladder issues spanned from childhood. I just didn't know that was the problem, but the pain was recognizable. Would last a few minutes, then go away. Fast forward to October 17, 2018, the pain set in and didn't leave. That's when I checked myself into the ER and my GB was taken out with a rather large stone in it. I've gained way more weight than I've ever had. Losing it has been nearly impossible. I do notice that when I increase my protein intake helps me a lot. I began taking TUDAC with NAC as well. Thank you for your reply and definitely good luck to us both. :)

The role of bile salts in the body is: Aids in digestion by breaking down fats. Helps absorb fat-soluble vitamins. Eliminate waste. It plays a role in modulating the secretion of pancreatic enzymes. It has antimicrobial activity especially against Gram-positive bacteria. It plays an important role in preventing bacterial overgrowth and regulating the formation of beneficial gut flora. It has a regulatory role in controlling energy metabolism, especially the way the liver processes glucose

Bile salts break down larger fat globules in food into small droplets of fat. Smaller fat droplets are easier for the digestive enzymes from the pancreas to process and break down. The bile salts also help the cells in the bowel to absorb these fat droplets.👍

I was starting to get that pain you describe, the familiar gallstone/blocked bile duct pain, was falling asleep after meals, even small ones, and had a LOT of edema going on. I started these new supplements and 6 months later it's reversing to where I have much more energy, no more edema, and I feel so much better. Now to lose the belly, which I've heard can take about 3 years to really make progress. I now carry all of it with me and when people ask me if I have anything to help, I offer the natural stuff. I'm called the Hippie lady by a lot of our customers because I always tell them of the natural stuff that helps.

@@JT-un7dc It's the NOW Super Enzymes. They help better with diarrhea than immodium, too. But I started taking something called Liver Tonic (purple bottle), Tudca, and Berberine with cinnamon a bit after that post, because I started falling asleep again after meals, even small no carb ones. I took Tudca in the morning before any food (for a while until I noticed a marked difference in my ability to tolerate it) and I still take the Liver Tonic before dinner, almost every day. I take the Berberine in the morning before any meal, and during dinner. I stopped taking the tonic for a month or so, but noticed I started feeling sleepy again and not feeling very good. I also backslid on the IF and have been struggling with not eating or drinking something with calories after a certain time and then waiting until at least 12 hrs have passed to eat. IF really does help a lot. As does Berberine, since it basically does what both bile salts and HCl do, but more naturally as it causes your stomach to produce more acid, which helps with digestion and triggers your body to release bile. I rarely ever have heartburn anymore. But I also take other supps regularly for pain and inflammation like ginger, a lot of ginger, and a little turmeric every day, which also help with digestive system. And I switched from drinking any soda to real lemonade. Chick fila has great lemonade that isn't super sweet.

@@notadumbblond3 I took a L- glutamine several years back and it started healing my stomach. then, I took peptides bpc-157. Bpc is expensive and I took them for a longer than recommended time to heal my stomach. Thanks to those combinations, haven't had heartburn in 4 years. I'm no longer gassy or bloated in my stomach after eating. The other herb I took was called kratom. This herb is the first thing that stopped my chronic diarrhea (sorry tmi).... I stopped taking the Kratom 4 months ago & my bathroom trips resumed. Trying to figure out how to cure this chronic issue is exhausting! Last week, I went back on low dose kratom. Constant bathroom trips & feeling lethargic and sleeping after every single meal isn't a good quality of life! For Most of this year I've been IF & it helps. Unfortunately, I get hypoglycemic. Already have a very low carb & sugar diet. Thank you, for your response I will look into berberine. PS. Kratom stops me from getting sleepy after meals and gives me a little pep in my step. But, not all vendors are legit. Absolute scientific has the best product that I've come across & it'stested. Edit: tested.

@@JT-un7dc Thank you for sharing. I had opposite problem, going too infrequently. Probios helped, but not enough. Tudca helped with that for sure, until it helped too much 😏. I had some stones that needed to get released apparently. No GB since 2001 but still got stones. I try to limit my daily supps if possible when I start feeling better, but have my natural arsenal I replenish as needed.
