The Antarctic Winter Film Festival is an awesome tradition that has been going on for quite a few years now! It's an amazing opportunity for the different stations on continent to interact and for everyone to see what life is like at each location! ☺️

I am currently living and working at the South Pole Station through the United States Antarctic Program. I am not down here as a filmmaker or photographer, but instead work in the Logistics and Supply department. All of these videos are being made during my free time and not during working hours. We are very busy down here keeping the station running at maximum efficiency, but I have managed to find some free time to make these short movies!

Great movie. I worked at McMurdo for 6 months, was offered a job at South Pole for a year but unfortunately had to turn it down.

Very interesting to see what life is like down there. Thx for sharing. Being disabled after a stroke i guess Mauritius is the most adventurous thing ill experience, which is more than good enough. Otherwise id definitely go for antarctica in some way, since it fascinates me so much. At least closer from Mauritis which on the right hemiosphere. Thx for sharing. Your videos always fascinates me& i especially love the round tours at the station

Ahh that would be fun! Sadly it doesn’t look like I’ll be doing a winter again anytime soon though.. I will probably do the 2020-21 summer though! Maybe we can do something for the holidays? I’m not sure!

Sadly I don’t know if you will be able to! Unless they upload them there isn’t much I can do. I can’t put them here because I’m not licensed to use most of the music they used.

In years past, it's usually been possible to find most of them posted on KZfaq or Vimeo; but so far this year this video is the only one I've found! I made a year to year list of the links, one year one individual at one station hosted all of the videos so it was possible to just watch them as a playlist. Discovered them several years ago after a local couple overwintered at the South Pole Station, participated in the creation of the 48 hour film; and gave a talk about their whole experience at the South Pole Station when they returned home - very interesting!

Last year have had a coworkor who actually believed in the flat earth shit. He is the person I most want to show photos of Antarctica when I get there.
