@@RainaAudron That would be the final game in the series then, Kain would probably destroy the Elder God at the end and fix time so he could prevent the blood curse of the vampires and thus all the events leading to the destruction of the pillars, saving Nosgoth.

@@RainaAudron Bit off topic, but not really :) If i were to point bit of lore, i`d love to know more about, and of which we get only bits and pieces in games- that would be Vampire- Human wars, that Kain started... I mean, the amount of possible stories of resistance, betrayal, political games and plain epic battles between Kain`s fledgeling Empire, and Human Kingdoms... Silenced Cathedral and Human Citadel would deserve story of its own, in my opinion...

Not to mention Janos, Rene was also another one too.

It makes me sad to think how many of these legendary voices we have lost. Really makes me think how the voice over would be handled, we still have Templeman and Bell, but we have three of the other major players. To me Tony Jay is the most prevalent of them.

A) Zelda, as a series, predates LoK by almost a decade, so more people grew up with it. B) Zelda, provided you try to avoid putting everything in a timeline, is relatively less complicated than LoK. When it comes to comparisons like these, do keep in mind the concept of Lowest common denominator in marketing. The less complicated it is, the better chance it has in getting popular. C) It's a Nintendo property. If Nintendo wishes it, they will ensure an IP will be known.

Because zelda games keep releasing to keep it relevant. The last lok game we saw was in the ps2 era. Sony NEEDS to revive LoK, pun intended, and give its story the polish and continuity the original games were missing to tie up the time lines better in a more cohesive way. And with the modern sheen of graphics and 60 fps, LoK has the makings to be this gens horizon or 2018 gow or spiderman or bloodborne. Really hope they working on LoK for this gen. So much story, lore and awesome well developed characters. So much material both in games and left in the chopping block!!! They could all tie it up nicely with a revival of the series!

@@RippahRooJizah you sure? I was under the impression that it's a Sony owned IP developed by crystal dynamics. The way bloodborne is a sony IP developed by FromSoft.

@@aeolussvichi7680 LoK was never a "Sony Exclusive" series. There was Blood Omen, but that game had a cancelled Saturn version, and SR2 was, PC aside, Sony exclusive. All the other games have been on non-Sony consoles. And the latest cancelled game was controlled by Squeenix and was going to be on the Xbox 360. Unless the IP changed hands and I don't know it, Squeenix is the one that "holds all the cards".

In "Soul Reaver" there is a line- Raziel comments, that his brother Dumah was a great warrior in his life... Probably same thing, when it came to his time as human. I think he wore same colors, as Malek did... Who knows, maybe he was his direct disciple, chosen for his weapon mastery? Even his crazy vampire offspring do try to "arm" themselves... In that way, it would be quite possible, that he`d be depicted as the one, who put most fierce resistance against Raziel

One of the problems is that our fanbase is nowhere near as big as Tomb Raider, for example, even a few million copies sold were a disappointment to SE. Modern day remake would require a significant investment but if they can't be sure to get it back via sales, it might not be feasible to them as much as it pains for us to hear.

The sad part is right now, with the tech and how much gaming has grown, if they did it right and put marketing behind it, the series could take on new life beyond its original potential. The landscape is so different now. But oh well.

I'm not sure I'm following this 100%. I think you might be conflating two different things here, but just to cover the bases: That particular section is going through the events of Blood Omen 1 from the perspective of Vorador (or Nosgoth in general) and refers specifically to the young Kain meeting Vorador in that game: Kain has met Vorador, been advised against interfering in human affairs, has gone back in time and then fought William the Just. All of that is the first timeline we see in the series. As recounted later Kain's killing of William changes history and creates a second (observed) timeline where instead of the Nemesis we get the rise of Moebius's hunters (and a slightly more cynical Vorador). But the events surrounding the time travel don't change in the second timeline or going forward - Kain still meets Vorador, still is advised against interference and still goes back, just this time he'd always killed William. One of the principal rules of time travel in LoK is the rule of least resistance: history will maintain the same events where possible and only allow the least possible changes, so when presented with a change the default is that everything is the same except where explicitly stated. Add to this the explicit mentions of Vorador's warning and Kain's time travel in later sources such as manuals and the like and developer comments that the events of the Blood Omen and Soul Reaver eras didn't change for the later time travel shenanigans - virtually confirmation that everything we've seen in the series occured right into the most recent timelines. The change of Blood Omen 2's events (or rather the end of SR2 ) is a totally different timeline shift - in that specific case it's from the third timeline (that the audience has observed) to the fourth - and yes that one does cause some big waves and changes through history but those don't change the course of the earlier games (only add new events in the background) and most of the fallout is concentrated in the Post-Blood Omen era where we get the rise of HL after he is able to leave the Demon Realm etc.

Yeah. The Hylden and the Elder God are opposed forces, with no love loss between them. However their goals do align on some things, like the fall of the pillars and the Raziel's fate.

The demon behind Dumah is actually Raziel (made to look monstrous, just like Janos).

That is Raziel depicted behind him. The artists of the era intentionally demonized their enemies.
