Do you have a recommended entry level spindle sander? I've heard that the Rigid belt/spindle sander sucks and on many you can't get the bed perpendicular to the spindle.

I normally have safety glasses, hearing protection, closed shoes/ steel toed boots, and heavy clothing.

It would have been good to see the piece that you made with the template. We don't know if worked well or not on the inside radius.
