I'm glad to be back. I took some time off after the holidays. A lot of times when I use the bevel function I just use a digital angle gauge. I have some more tool tuning to come, so it will be a slight change from my regular crafts that I do.

Oooo that's a tough one. That almost sounds like the notches aren't cut correctly. I wonder if that's a warranty thing?

It could be that the miter detent has slop in it. I looked at those Rigid saws and the ones on display had slop. I don’t think there is anything you can do about that except know that it does and adjust it every time you cut. If it’s not that, your fence may not be flat from one side to the other. I’d guess it’s the former rather than the latter. It’s amazing how poorly built most miter saws are- and it doesn’t matter which brand it is. Tables are rarely flat and fences are rarely square and flat. If the fence and table are off, it won’t matter how much adjustment you do, it will never make a square cut.

The detents are correct on mine. It was tuned in before the video, so I had to re tune it. You are correct, if you move the 45 it will also effect the 90.

There should definitely be some adjustments to help get everything in the right place. Thanks for sticking around to the end.

Are you able to use it in a single position? Or is it that you cant use it at all? Maybe you can extract and replace the bolt.

@@Spartan-hs8nn With the correct tools it should be easy. Also like mitch suggested you could take it to a shop and they will probably do it for a case of beer.

How do you like that saw?

@@cedarriverwoodworking It works well. I haven't done the miter testing to see how off it is. The angle guide is cut into the frame, so I am not sure on adjusting it. I also added a 1/4 backing to the fence since the saw seemed to miss that last bottom corner of a cut due to the curve of the blade and not able to get the saw a touch further down.

I believe the dewalt is adjusted very similarly.

It's pretty simple to do.

Actually most modern saws have this system to tune in their saws.
