Just two colours - black and white. And a simple yet striking geometric pattern. This is the legendary Porsche fabric called Pepita. First appearing in 1964, it became famous with the start of series production of the 911. Before that, it appeared as a special request item on the Porsche 356.
Now, decades down the line, the Porsche Pepita Edition by Vitra brings a new dimension to this classic design. Watch the video to see how the iconic fabric is woven to life.

@@tobiaskolb9011 Hi Tobias, I can't upload pictures on YT. I imported the tartan from Scotland direct for the mill. Checked that it was strong quality for seats etc. Then had the best upholstery people copy the originals, then using their own hard foam. (cost a fair bit, but I wanted a top job) They came up really well and have lasted 2 years so far with no issues. They are dark blue which suits the Gentian Blue really well. Originals are stored in the house, so they will be new if I ever sell it.

I would love some seats covered in this fabric. Both for my Toyota pickup, and my house.. Why not my Porsche? Because I dont own one. And I foolishly passed on a few back when they were dirt cheap on the used market... 🤦‍♂️

It’s german made by a small company that is located in the area of Porsche Headquarters.

Other weaving machines in German Automotive are made in majority by Dornier (german) and Jaeger (Swiss/german).
