The Peoples' Friendship University of Russia in Moscow was named Patrice Lumumba University on 22 February 1961, a week after his assassination. Everyone in Russia knew his name. It was everywhere in Soviet papers, on the radio and TV. I was a little girl then, but I remember him ever since, as the greatest African hero.

@@kn0wr3zz Hey, I've got a better idea! Why don't you take your own advice? The only murderer was his successor, General Joseph Mobut. Who, by the way had him killed, the CIA's help of course. He made the egregious mistake of trying to take control of his country's resources. As a consequence they ended up with one of the most murderous regimes in central Africa.

Telling true history is so important. 1) you are not taught it in school 2) people to easily forget the horrors their governments create. People will never have governments that work for the people if the people do not demand it

Living Lifeform true, the capitalist have woven their way into the governments. If you look at the US Legislatures they come from prime stock. Look at what was voted into presidency, a capitalist that just spoke populist, running against another capitalist and then you had third party candidates smeared and shut out of media and debates.
