The Basics of Shotgun Chokes

Күн бұрынWhile the focus of shotgunning falls on the firearm itself, without a basic understanding of chokes, shooters and hunters can end up sorely disappointed. What are chokes? How do they work? What’s the difference between Extra Full and Skeet? What do you have now, or what do you need?
Here’s a primer for beginners; however, even experienced shooters may glean a few tidbits of information as well.

Thank you for this information, Kristin. I have been an active target and sport shooter for over 10 years now in Canada and have owned almost every type of firearm except for a shotgun. I'm currently in the process of looking to purchase my first shotgun and found this video on chokes to be very informative. Thank you.

Nice job Kristen, you are by far one of my favorite presenters. Very clear information. My wife and I have a Beretta 1301 tactical 12 gauge, and when I bought it I didn’t know that some shotguns have chokes. Great gun.

😲 you really know your stuff good for you I learned a lot of stuff just watching this I'm going to go check out my shotgun I'm not a shotgun person but I have one for home defense and I'm going to take a look at it and see what going on with the choke

so my new shotgun came with a tube installed, a ported tube, bur it's probably just a cylinder open choke right?
