I like the eyes without the white because I think they show more emotions. However, I think it would be sick if they did the white eyes for night vision or something like that

Mad Hatter is such an underrated villian, the visuals with him in the movie would be insane, i would hope for something like the arkham city mad hatter mission or arkham knight DLC fight

If there is a time jump, I think scarecrow should be the main villain but if the sequel happens right after the first one then I would love to see freeze and croc since those 2 would utilize the flood to their advantage and even start their character arcs. The white eyes could be for detective-, night vision and maybe combat.

I like to see Mr. Freeze to be main antagonist in The Batman 2: The Ice. And Mad Hatter as secondary antagonist use to be Joker’s partner!

If Mad Hatter and Scarecrow show up in a film, I'm worried that they will feel too similar. Obviously, they focus on different areas of science, with Mad Hatter using tech and illusions and Scarecrow using toxins and hallucinogens, but with the same effect: causing hallucinations in their victims.

What if Mad Hatter used that device to control his thugs but also was a Human Trafficker? He could use the Drops that was featured in The Batman giving some sort of tie to the first installment yet also giving us some backstory in letting us know that drugs are still being on the loose and used in different ways. You could say that he was another child in the orphanage and was friends with Riddler, or maybe even looked up to him if you wanted to make him a little younger. You could say that he had OCD and the only thing that could calm him down as in fact reading, leaving him to read Alice in Wonderland.

I like the idea of Mad Hatter for The Batman! It makes a lot of sense actually! But my personal hope is definitely Harvey Dent, the up and coming. Having a whole movie of The Batman gradually finding a colleague of sorts in Dent. Having them close some cases with mutual input. And then. Then the crime families are having their moment and TwoFace is born. That would be awesome. My other dream/hope is for an end credits with a circus. Bringing in Robin in any form - but in particular via original story of The Flying Graysons - is a very tough challenge to pull. Also, Dark Victory comes after Halloween, and in a long term scheme could be thematically, well, perfect.

I think the cowl looks great & it is definitely not the weakest, but these are the TOP 5 upgrades I would recommend for the new cowl for the 2nd film. 1. Pointy nose 2. Still make the mouth part of the mask wide, but make the angle a tiny bit less wide. 3. less stitches 4. Make the bat ears look the same but look even better. 5. Lastly make the eyebrows or whatever they're suppose to be look even more angrier & more intimidating then before. Still love the cowl from the 1st film btw🦇

I definitely think that Scarecrow or Dr Hugo Strange should be the main antagonist in The Batman 2. Someone to psychologically challenge Bruce Wayne/Batman, considering that he now knows about his mother's past incarnation at Arkham Asylum. Leaving him to question his actions as Batman and whether or not he's actually insane. I also think that Harvey Dent should appear in the second film too. But he shouldn't become Two Face just yet.

My Batsuit concept would be similar to the current suit, except with a few differences - namely sonar eyes like Bale and functional cape wings replacing the glidesuit. Also, he will have to ditch the Batknife at some point, so the chest emblem will be replaced with a more substantial symbol with ears like in the film logo. It's a few updates to an already good suit that will make it better.

I would really like to see Scarecrow as a main Villian he is probably my favourite Batman Villian and it‘s just the perfect choice for this version of Gotham he would fit in perfectly and i just can‘t see how Matt would leave him out for future Movies at this point i just wanna see him to be honest.

Scarecrow has been my first choice villain since I watched The Batman. He's a character that fits Reeves style really well and can tie it to some of Bruce's comments. I think you can also use the fear toxin and mix it with the Drops (maybe useage goes up after the flooding) and they have Scarecrow looking designs.

#BehindTheMask honestly, it is actually impossible to guess what Reeves will do. He could have any inspiration, choose any time jump, and take Bruce's psychology in a ton of directions. For me, I hope to see the visceral feeling continued into the next films. It makes sense that the next movie will have something to do with him taking responsibility for the city and the issues that will cause for him. What will bring this apart from the Nolan trilogy is this Batman is so emotionally damaged and addicted to fighting crime. He doesn't have as clear of a path towards "being a hero." The next movie could possibly play with his temptations to kill or take things too far, but I can't be sure. Thanks for the content Boba!

if they do mad hatter in the second movie i think they should go with the storyline from new 52 where jeris tech goes on a date with a girl named alice in a wonderland themed park and many years later he creates a whole set like the park they went to as kids and kidnaps different women to play alice and even kidnaps and kills one of bruces girlfriends that was a pianist that causes batman to literally beat the shit out of the mad hatter and almost kills him.This can also play in the fact that bruce is trying to be a symbol of hope and not vengance and the death of his girlfriend causes to come back to his old self where hi is more brutal.Also they can make the girlfriend be dax from the batman prequel novel,she maybe comes back to gotham to see bruce causing mad hatter to kidnap and murder her which then drives bruce crazy and almost brakes his own rule of not killing

Hey Boba always love hearing your discussions! A villain I would love to see in the Reevesverse is Poison Ivy. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to make a grounded version of her character sense in her og comic depiction she wasn't a metahuman. I think Reeves could do a lot in his grounded approach by exploring the potential of biological warfare with Ivy's toxins used against the city, and if he *were* willing to take her at a slightly more fantastical angle, her character would allow for some really macabre body horror what with her turning people into plants and stuff Fun video as always! #behindthemask

I personally really want to see more than just a trilogy of these films. His world is so dense and there’s so much to explore for example. Trilogy 1- is just these super down to earth serial killers, Riddler, Mad Hatter, Professor Pig, Doll maker, and I know their not serial killers but the court of owls. Then Trilogy 2- Introduce more fantastical characters that are still dark and gritty with a scientific explanation that isn’t to out there and keep the same tone as the first movie. Then you get Mr. Freeze, Killer Croc, Clayface, Poison Ivy etc. and obviously have the Joker just be there and maybe take up on of the movies as the main villain. Or maybe have a third trilogy devoted only to the Joker. Someone made a really interesting comment before about Riddler being the main villain of a trilogy and I think that would work for Joker since Batman’s greatest villain kind of thing. I know I’m rambling just some thoughts on it

I’m in total agreement with you on the whole white eyes topic. With an actor as talented as Pattinson soooo much comes through with the eyes…to hide them would be a complete mistake. Even if he were just to wear white contact lenses (think blind eye) it would be a disservice. Totally amazing for the comics & toons. It’s bc they draw the cowl change shape and when he furrows his brow, squints in anger or suspicion, the go wide with surprise or fear. Think Batfleck’s “oh shit” eyes when he sees Sups right b4 he crashes the Batmobile into him…priceless! We’d never get stuff like that

in a documentary on the animated series, they talked about how they would constantly be altering the capes length for dramatic effect, so that they could have the best of both worlds. sometimes its above his legs and others its trailing, or huge and long when hes gliding, etc. so obviously in real life its gotta be one or the other. and how i would solve shit like this, granted they have the time movie and overall trilogy wise, is to give him special occasion suits/gear. like instead of altering his main suit, just have modified parts of the suit he may interchange for certain circumstances. or whole other suits for a villain like Mr. Freeze for example. like i do not want the main suit to change, other than some minor shit. so thats what i've been hoping for. that he makes some badass spinoff suits. however, i'm not vehemently opposed to a new main suit, like obviously theres a combination of factors that could make a suit i like even better. like i'm sure that p[possibility exists, and if they can find it, so be it. but ultimately, this suit is fucking perfect. as far as minor variations, i think it could be a little less bulky for the sequel. i love the bulk so much, but as he evolves into a more stealthy Batman, he should adjust the suit accordingly, as he wont just be tankin around everywhere. and it could be a tad sleeker and streamlined. lastly, i pray to god they do Scarecrow. i think it could end up being the most iconic Batman sequel of all time. like hes the perfect fit for this iteration, this Bruce, this Batman....Robert period. the imagery could be unprecedented and unparalleled stuff. i also kinda wish they had saved Halloween for Scarecrow, but in any case, i think Batman and Bruces evolution in the first film could turn Bruce into the perfect target for Scarecrow. hes trying to be more of a symbol for the city, which is gonna come with some adjusting and concerns, he's going to try and integrate more into society as Bruce, which will carry even more fear for him i imagine. And he just had some major revelations about his parents. Then theres Gotham being pretty vulnerable, right between fear and hope, and i think Scarecrow coming in to try and plunge it back into the grimy depths would be fucking sick and twisted in the best way, and that it could all gel into a classic Batman movie

I think you’ve said before that you don’t think corruption should be a main part of the next movie, but what would you think of Wayne Enterprises corruption being the thing connecting Gotham’s underworld, the main villain and Bruce’s character arc together? We don’t know much about WE in the Batverse yet, so what if after the Waynes’s deaths it fell into the hands of Gotham’s corruption? The next movie should definitely be more Bruce centered and focus of his character arc of retaking control of his family’s legacy, and I think it would be a great way to involve it in the the plot if both Batman and Bruce find links between the mob/villain and WE, and then both try to take down WE, in organized crime (Batman) and in public (Bruce). WE’s corruption could also have had a hand in the origin of the main villain (Victor Fries, Jervis Tetch), or even use the villain against Bruce (Tetch, Clayface) to discredit him. Love the videos man! Also Tim Roth should play Mad Hatter. He’d be perfect and he deserves to be in a good superhero movie.

I've been thinking that it would be a really cool idea to throw in villains that are a bit more obscure, and low-level threats for the sequel. Considering that Robert Pattinson's favorite villain is Condiment King, I thought it would be interesting to use him, Killer Moth, and possibly Kite Man, as throw-away villains, so to speak. They could all be low-level thugs, who pop up for their 15 minutes, thinking they can easily take on Batman, but he's able to thwart them all relatively quickly and easily. His rapid succession of victories would lure him into a state of over-confidence, to the point that when the real villainous threat reveals themselves, he underestimates them considerably. Now, sticking with the lesser known (or lesser utilized) villains, my picks for the primary antagonist would be between Professor Pyg, Hugo Strange, Mad Hatter, Ventriloquist, and Prometheus. Based on the world that Reeves has already created, I think any of these five would fit exceptionally well, while still creating a compelling story, and posing a true challenge for this iteration of the dark knight.

Why is it, that the characters that portray characters on TV are 10x better than the actors they use in movies?

My expectations for the presentation of TB2: the film begins with the narration in off, with Bruce saying that after the flood the city hall put in airships as a rescue operation. It would open up the BTAS vibe and show that new criminals have emerged vying for the space left by FALCONI: ventriloquist, black mask, Professor Pig, Mad Hatter and so on. There could be quick shots of Batman investigating some and capturing others. In parallel, we will see that DROP has also started to be used experimentally in Arkham with Kane, at the request of Hugo Strenge.

Hey boba! I’m thinking a good way they could use the first movie being set in 2019, would be to jump the timeline to the release date of the Batman 2 in like 2022-2023. This way they could kinda jump into a slightly more developed Batman with more experience. I don’t know if that’s really for everyone but my main problem with the first movie was that he really wasn’t the greatest detective. I would like them to just kinda have him say he studied deceive work more in the “Gotham project journal” exposition in the beginning, so we can just jump into a more experienced Batman.

I feel like the mad hatter doesn't have to kill anyone, just putting their lives in danger. You could have him just kidnap people and call them alice, then have him hypnotize people and put them in danger so batman has to try and save them all. hey boba, love your videos! I have a theory that in the Arkham series riddler and joker might cause some mayhem together but then possibly become rivals or something like that because i feel like that would be a great nod to the "A friend" scene in the batman.

I think Reeves should avoid Hatter for now, being his similarity to Riddler, that general non-comic book fans would be confused with. At least for the movie trilogy, for one of the TV series he could work really well.

I'll admit I've had Mad Hatter in my head for the Reevesverse since the beginning. Perfect for a grounded version. All psychology and technology based! Also about the cowl, what stood out to me is that it's the first time it doesn't have facial features on it. It's all smooth somewhat similar to the 60's version. I love the suit but am also looking forward to him upgrading throughout the trilogy.

I’d love to see professor pig as a main antagonist of a future movie in this universe. Having a really dark horror aspect would be great for Batman. Imagine saw but with barman as the detective.

Nolan used the white eyes with Batman when he used the sonar to track Jokers voice. I always figured if Reeves did it , it would be some sort of night vision. Just not sure if this Batman would have instant nightvision tech on that suit yet. If they should him make it , that will be cool. Maybe it works at first them someone like Mr. Freeze who makes everything bright will disrupt them

We have already seen "therapist Scarecrow in Batman Begins, I would much prefer a team up movie with Scarecrow and Mad Hatter terrorizing streets of Gotham like in Long Halloween animated movie. Think about it, both have 'Alice in the Wonderland' theme and both use mindtricks to mess with people. First half of sequel should revolve around cult-leader Mad Hatter and second part revolve around Freddy Krueger-esque Scarecrow, at the end one comes across each other like Riddler did with Joker

Hopes for the sequel suit 1. Cowl changed to more of a composite shell than leather 2. Upgrade the logo, it needs well defined ears and a tail. 3. The cape NEEDS SCALLOPS I love the suits but the cape isn't as batlike as any of the other capes 4. The gauntlets should be modified in movie, like bruce gets stabbed between the plates of the suit so he adds some aramid mesh between the plates, and specifically add the gauntlet scallops specifically for disarming and or breaking bladed weapons. Show the evolution of the suit and the reasons why some things work and others dont 5. WE NEED A REAL BATARANG, and we need a real reason to use them. Like After the last movie, he realizes he has no form of ranged weapon to be used in situations like the gotham square fight. He got shot alot, so he develops the batarang as a way to stun or disarm people from a distance so he can focus on the thug who's bones he's busy snapping.

I was initially not fond of the cowl in publicity photos, but seeing the film its definitely one of my all time favourites along with the suit. It's quite beautiful. For the next big bad, I think calendar man fits the bill, and throw in a fight with a young killer croc too.

What if the contact lenses are designed like cat eyes, in the dark his contacts are translucent so we can see his normal eyes, but if a light was shines directly at his face, the contacts glow like how cat eyes would, they could say this is a side effect for having night vision added to the contacts. Love to know your thoughts on this.

IMHO I think we continue with Penguin, Catwoman as well as joker & Riddler waiting in the wings. Part 2 should introduce a new set of villains and I think the main should as been stated before be Mr Freeze. That story line is too good and Reeves will do that character justice. I also think it’s important to introduce Harvey Dent saving Two Face for Part 3. Lastly Mad Hatter needs his big screen debut! I think he should be the creator of the “drops” lending towards a more grounded basis for mind control obsession. Not too mention if they start shooting in a year and with the timeline and ages of all involved I believe a young Dick Grayson should get his proper due too. So, if I wrote the script, I’d fall in suit with the HBO shows following a timeline, introduce the Mad Hatter/Harvey Dent(saving the change for part 3)subplot with Freeze taking center stage all the while laying more and more bread crumbs for the Court Of Owls to end the trilogy.

For Mad Hatters tech they can kind of take inspiration from the first Kingsman movie. When Samuel Jacksons character had a chip I think in peoples phone, I don't really remember, that would basically hypnotize them into going berzerk. They could probably do something kinda of similar to Mad Hatters tech but I can only imagine it being done with a song or some sort if visual shown on TVs or phones getting a majority of people to do his bidding

I know this probably won't ever happen but one of my all time favourite villains is firefly. I was very excited to see Brendan Fraiser in that role and the set footage looked so cool. It would be so cool if they rehired him to portray the same character but in one of these films. Garfield lynns has so much potential as a character to be interesting and his vibe fits perfectly with this world and the colour palette etc. They could even change things about his backstory and expand in their own way as he doesn't really have a solid one backstory. He could also work great just as a cool looking henchman if they didn't see potential in him as a main villain.

Since you mentioned how the first film is so heavily leaning on a serial killer, I think the sequel should be more about gangs and Arkham. They could introduce Harvey Dent as a good guy. The Penguin could have a major role since he’s basically the kingpin of Gotham now. I personally think Scarecrow would be a perfect fit for this trilogy, but he needs to be the main villain of whatever movie he’s in. One villain that could be interesting would be deathstroke

There’s a drug called “Dragon’s Breath” that could easily stand-in for Mad Hatter’s tech. Makes people completely susceptible to suggestion without making them loopy and with no memory of their actions. I realize he’s a tech-based villain…but Riddler became Jigsaw with little fan push-back 🤷‍♂️. The drug angle fits better with the Alice in Wonderland analogies, imho.

It may just be me but I’m honestly shocked to not see fancasting for Stanley Tucci as Mr Freeze. He has incredible range and the biggest problem would be his age and the fact that he’s been in the MCU but when someone is that perfect for the role I don’t see that as an issue 😂.

I think they should do Mad Hatter and Mr. Freeze with a down the rabbit hole dark twisted winter wonderland vibe. Really think Mad Hatter should be a therapist who hypnotizes or simply manipulates his patients. Would be real nice if they introduced a young Grayson who needs to seek therapy then maybe gets kidnapped for the Owls while Bruce/Batman tackles the cold cases left for the Batman to solve while Mr. Freeze takes down corruption in the medical field or keeps bodies on ice for the Owls. I'd like Simon Pegg as Mad Hatter and Bill Nighly as Mr. Freeze.

So for future Batman movies with reeves I think joker should be in them but as a side character like they did with the bonus scene I like that. I also have mixed feelings about the cowl I think they should just upgrade the ears

i like the mad hatter idea on how he will put a big number of people into a danger and then this forces batman to accpet that he cant save everyone, but i dont know if it would work for a full movie

I’d like to see a compromise with the white eyes. Do what they sorta did when Batman goes into detective mode in the arkham games. Have them slide down from the mask for protection/intimidation/situation analysis during combat and then retract back into the mask during intimate scenes. They could even add in a bit explaining it if they want like they did with the new armor cause of the dog attack in dark knight. Who knows maybe some thug threw pocket sand into his eyes.

The white eyes could be integrated in the movie added as a detective mode feature when he uses like a night vision esk type of feature when trying to use clue to solve the mystery

wonder what they would do for Scarecrow costume? An even more intense, scary looking mask than the Cillian Murphy version? or a leaner, more grounded gas mask approach. I expect the latter, especially with the stripped down, realistic approach to Riddler and Penguin in the first installment. I would love to see Reeves take on that iconic rogue.

Mad Hatter is a little too similar to do for the 2nd film. Just the way both villains commit mysterious crimes and dance around their answers. I think Mr. Freeze is the best way to go. Not having him turn people into ice blocks, but hurting/killing them with frostbite. It grounds the mythical aspect of the character, keeping it more believable in this version.

I wish they would give Mr. freeze another go, but do it right. He has such a tragic story, and he’s not necessarily evil but just trying to save his wife, I’ll also being emotionally dead. I think that would make a really interesting story

With this new, more realistic Batman I'd love to see Mad Hatter finally, or a movie where Scarecrow is the main antagonist, and gets more than 3 minutes of screen time lol. But if that's not what he's looking for, then perhaps... Pyg? He's another underrated villain, and in this universe, he could make for a very thrilling antagonist. In the games he's a lil goofy imo, but a realistic adaptation of his character could be legitimately terrifying

If I was writing the trilogy, the sequel villains would be the Court of Owls and Strange/Joker in Arkham (whichever comes first). BUT I also think that popping Scarecrow into this world would be easy as pie, by revealing that he’s the Drops supplier and wants to up his game with a new “drug”. Definitely think it makes sense for the Penguin series.

Mad Hatter would no doubt be introduced in this universe either the sequel or the third for sure, but imo you have to get two face implemented in this story with the next movie either just him as Harvey for the whole movie for character building, then the third with his transformation, it would make such good story telling and would make Bruce's relationship with Harvey that much impactful. His guilt even stonger since Harvey was like a brother to him in the animated series and the comics.

Hey Boba man, I'm back. I gotta say I loved the cowl. Could it be better, yes of course, but it fit Pattinson's aesthetic really well. And even more so with it being a year 2 Batman. I don't want the chinstrap (I think of the DC movies when I think chinstrap) and it's awesome, yea, but it doesn't fit with what Reeves is doing. I mean, did Bruce's cowl fall off? I think he'll upgrade any flaws that were weaker points for the suits first iteration.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Mad Hatter as the main villain for Batman 2, it gives us a different villain to see the Dark Knight go up against, like what they did with the riddler in the Batman. Personally however I would really like to see Killer Croc make his way into a movie somehow. We NEVER see Killer Croc besides in Animation or in a video game or comic. It would bring a much darker, scarier tone and mood to a Batman movie and I would love to see that. He don’t even have to be the MAIN villain of the movie but it would be nice to see him make an appearance because I think he’s one of the more underrated Batman villains out there

For me I would love at the beginning of the batman 2, batman and gordan wrap up a case before the main story would be great like hunting a certain Professor Pig and arrest him and then have the main story then kicks in.
