The official trailer for #TheBeatlesGetBack is here! The Disney+ original docuseries, directed by
Peter Jackson, will be arriving on Disney+ just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Made
entirely from never-before-seen, restored footage, it provides the most intimate and honest
glimpse into the creative process and relationship between John, Paul, George, and Ringo ever
filmed. Be sure to check them both out, and don’t forget to watch “The Beatles: Get Back” when
it rolls out over three days, November 25, 26, and 27, 2021, exclusively on Disney+.
Directed by three-time Oscar®-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson (“The Lord of the Rings” trilogy,
“They Shall Not Grow Old”), “The Beatles: Get Back” takes audiences back in time to the band’s
January 1969 recording sessions, which became a pivotal moment in music history. The
docuseries showcases The Beatles’ creative process as they attempt to write 14 new songs in
preparation for their first live concert in over two years. Faced with a nearly impossible deadline,
the strong bonds of friendship shared by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and
Ringo Starr are put to the test. The docuseries is compiled from nearly 60 hours of unseen
footage shot over 21 days, directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg in 1969, and from more than 150
hours of unheard audio, most of which has been locked in a vault for over half a century.
Jackson is the only person in 50 years to have been given access to this Beatles treasure trove,
all of which has now been brilliantly restored. What emerges is an unbelievably intimate portrait
of The Beatles, showing how, with their backs against the wall, they could still rely on their
friendship, good humor, and creative genius. While plans derail and relationships are put to the
test, some of the world’s most iconic songs are composed and performed. The docuseries
features - for the first time in its entirety - The Beatles’ last live performance as a group, the
unforgettable rooftop concert on London’s Savile Row, as well as other songs and classic
compositions featured on the band’s final two albums, Abbey Road and Let It Be.
An exciting new collaboration between The Beatles and Jackson presented by The Walt Disney
Studios in association with Apple Corps Ltd. and WingNut Films Productions Ltd., “The Beatles:
Get Back” is directed by Peter Jackson, produced by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono
Lennon, Olivia Harrison, Peter Jackson, Clare Olssen (“They Shall Not Grow Old”) and
Jonathan Clyde (“Eight Days a Week”), with Apple Corps’ Jeff Jones (“Eight Days a Week”) and
Ken Kamins (“The Hobbit” trilogy) serving as executive producers. Jabez Olssen (“Rogue One:
A Star Wars Story”) serves as the film’s editor, the music supervisor is Giles Martin
(“Rocketman”), Michael Hedges (“The Adventures of Tintin”) and Brent Burge (“The Hobbit”
trilogy) serve as the series re-recording mixers, and the music is mixed by Giles Martin and Sam
Okell (“Yesterday”).

But nothing as involved as he did with They Shall Not Grow Old. The big thing they say they've pioneered with this one is getting neural network/ machine learning tech to separate the sounds of instruments and different voices well enough to remix them. This saves the footage that was done with poor mic set ups. A one mike set up might have drums ways too loud, and maybe you can't hear the back up singing or piano. I'm looking forward to it. For some reason John's "yeeeeah" 3:34 makes me so happy. I miss him. His awful murder was the first celebrity death that hit me really hard as a 9 year old kid in 1980. There is actually audio of George saying he is leaving the band. Unfortunately the fight that caused it, was not recorded, because it happend during lunch. The paper back then got the rumor wrong, George didn't had an argument with Paul, but with John. John was really rude about the incident, not only did he play "A Quick One While He's Away" a song by The Who, but actually was thinking out loud to get Eric Clapton to take George's place.

No they did not, and funny enough it has been pretty big news for the past couple days, cause McCartney just said in an interview Lennon quit the band to make art and Yoko had nothing to do with it. Yes that is correct, McCartney just confirmed Yoko had zero to do with the Beatles splitting, and even said Yoko was a great woman. He literally said Lennon walked in one day and said he wanted to be an artist and was quitting the band. I will take his word for it, cause he was there.

I think we should agree to disagree, personally I am disappointed to see that the original footage has been cropped from its original aspect ratio, and perhaps even worse, apparently scrubbed of all detail using DNR. I understand they have done this because this appears preferable to many of the philistines who typically use streaming services, however while I would consider this a poor restoration of the footage - in fact, more of a degradation/destruction of said footage - this does not diminish my excitement, I am glad we will get the chance to see it in any form.

I loved the Beatles from when we watched them on Ed Sullivan. Some how we all knew it was an important event. As we watched us kids picked out the one we liked best. I liked Paul - my brothers liked John and one sister loved George and other one Loved Ringo, Within days people were wearing Beatle boots to school. The parents liked them too but said they will never last as we watched. My father use to cut our hair on Sunday nights- after Sullivan we all wanted longer Beatle hair cuts - Suddenly very traumatic getting a dreaded haircut.

The last clips of this trailer are glorious. Most bands split when they're on their late adulthood or they've reached their peak maturity, and most people would assume the same happened to The Beatles, but in those clips you get to realise they were still youngsters, even a couple of years apart from turning 30. They spent most of their early youth years together, and you can see they bonded like brothers, having fun like kids would do. This documentary looks very raw, natural and beautifully edited🌟

my favorite musician ever...first heard him in the mid 70s as a little child while he was in wings I suppose...I was instantly hooked hearing his voice on the radio...then as a teen going back and really mining his entire catalog from please please me through the beatles, wings, and solo...his body of work is so great. what I find today is alot of his solo work (ram for instance) that was still getting panned for being too pop or not up to his beatles standards is now being revered. it started to change when Kurt Cobain had mentioned ram was a big influence on him...suddenly that album was looked at as being one of the first indie rock albums....I never cared what the critics said regarding his work...I always found his melodies to be the key to really appreciating how great he was/is....a living legend for sure....sadly I think even though he is loved overall nowadays , his work won't get it's just due until after he passes...when stars are taken from us before an old age they are sent on a rocket ship of praise...lennon (who I loved also) was given so much praise upon his death that it seemed to take away from Paul's contributions...it has come back down to earth in recent decades. he is the greatest living musician at this point in my humble opinion

The opening "Dont let me down" is such a powerful, emotionally honest song. I know it is supposed to be about Yoko, but I cant help thinking that the heart-wrenching vocals are aimed at the rest of the band, as well. And the swelling riffs from Billy Preston's Rhodes electric piano just carry that heartbreak into the stratosphere. A lot of people talk about how this movie shows a group of really close friends enjoying themselves ... and Im sure they were. But you cant rewrite actual history. The truth is that they all expected the group to fall apart in the very imminent future. All four were already two steps down the road on the next phase of their lives, and could see that they were headed in dramatically different directions. I suspect that a lot of the "upbeat" and "close, personal" moments in the film reflect their knowledge that they wouldnt be doing this much more ... if ever ... and that they wanted to focus on their long friendship rather than let the internal divisions raise their head. I think that may be why the others (Paul particularly) expressed negative feelings towards Yoko being in the studio --- not so much because she was Yoko, but because she was distracting from the four-scouser-mates chemistry that they were trying to revisit one last time.

The trailer is a work of art. It anticipates one of the greatest contributions to the Beatles legacy since their break up, and is light years ahead of the Beatles anthology in terms of its artistic nature.

@@jorgeb555 Usually the making of trailers is farmed out to "trailer houses", companies that specifically make trailers (which is part of why most trailers are so bad now), but I suspect this one was actually put together by Jackson.

Wow!! Beautiful! My daughter sent me this link. And my mom took me to their concert in San Francisco (actually Daly City) in August 1965. She sat way in the back. That is how this music transcends time and generations. We wore Beatle boots to high school. Man, I wish I had all the Beatle stuff from those days!

This band has changed my life in so many ways. No one can truly understand how excited I am for this. They are the greatest band in the history of music. They revolutionized everything that we know today and changed so many lives along the way. I’m so happy that Peter Jackson and Disney+ are bringing me this early Christmas present so that I can enjoy this beautifully remastered and edited documentary.

It's not an exaggeration to say I wouldn't be the person I am if it weren't for the Beatles. Music changed my life, and I only got into music... And the guitar... Because of them. Some of this footage was on the Let It Be film, but a lot of what I've just seen I've never seen or heard before. Not ashamed to say I've just had tears in my eyes. The video quality looks incredible.

I loved the initial promo but this one tops it. The other distilled the joy while this seems to capture that and a fair bit of the drama and emotion that's so associated with how we've known these sessions for decades. "It's going to be such a comical thing, like, in 50 years' time. 'They broke up because Yoko sat on an amp'." Paul, prophetically. Can. Not. Wait.

Yeah basically the Get Out sessions were a failure. They had all these grand ideas for a massive concert somewhere, and an album that returned them to their simple roots (get back), and a documentary to go along with it. But in the end they all got totally on each others nerves, argued all the time, weren't happy with the album so got Phil Spector in to redo most of it, ended up just doing the concert on the roof of the studio, and the documentary is only being released 50 years later. A really good documentary would be honest and focus on the way it failed, and how despite the fact it 'failed' it still led to the creation of some brilliant songs, and to an iconic moment on the roof. Making it all sugary and sweet would be a disservice.
