Interestingly, he may have also been in touch with Lennon a second time. In an appearance on the Dick Cavett show in September 1971, an audience member that asks a question seems to bear a striking resemblance, in terms of both looks and voice: • John Lennon and Yoko O...

It amazes me how john had such a rough and "get over it" type personality and was still so compassionate for everybody. I think that is the perfect mix. I could see him calling somebody stupid for something, and at the same time offer them help for whatever they needed. I think that no nonsense and sill compassionate personality is great personality to have.

I think a lot of people who are "rough and get over it" types are very compassionate. It just has to do with passion, IMO. If you're passionate about yourself and not letting anyone walk all over you, you're probably passionate about other things, such as the homeless, etc.

It's true though, especially with hallucinogens. You'll see people get stuck on ideas and grand conspiracies if they have been using psychedelics a lot. I've had friends that thought they found the eternal truth to life and everything in the universe listening to king crimson and pink floyd. It's refreshing to hear a musician tell it straight and let people know that a lot of music is simply things that sound good or follow a certain theme, random even.

I like how he didn't avoid the guy or have a goon security guard rough him up, he stood there and talked to him then invited him in for a bite to eat. Sadly his openness to his fans was his downfall but it's still nice to see John show compassion to a man who was looking for answers.

Let's be honest, there are very few people let alone celebrities that'll invite a homeless man that's been living in their back yard without them knowing into their house for something to eat if they're hungry. Yes I've seen that video of him talking to that fan in Central Park that guy in question was called Derek Shrubtree he was in a band called the something oranges.Have you seen that other video of him strolling through Central Park? a teenage girl approaches him hands a scrapbook and requests his autograph.John signs her scrapbook and even has the decency to aplogise after forgetting to return the pen to her.He looks in a very casual and relaxed mood.In his last ever interview he talks about life in New York saying how great it is not to be hassled by fans.He felt at ease and not caught up in histeria like when he lived in Liverpool and London. He had people approaching him wanting his autograph and wanting to shake his hand.

And to find out that the lyrics people obsess over and dissect to bits are sometimes just words that rhyme or sound nice in a song! I didn't want it to end. 😊🎵🥰🎵

1:29 - this sums it up. A lot of times people will take a song and think it was personally meant for them. As John says, he was either writing about himself, Yoko, or just having fun playing with words. Sure, certain songs have meaning for us - but they do for a lot of other people as well.

Found a bit of information on him plus a comment left by his brother. Curt Claudio was born Cesare Curtis Claudio in Alameda, California on August 28, 1948. He was a class of 1966 at Kennedy High School in Richmond, CA. His father Cesare Claudio Sr was born in Victoria, BC, Canada to newly immigrated parents from Italy, and soon moved to Seattle, WA., and eventually to San Francisco. Curt's father was a professional violinist and urged all four of his children to become professional musicians. Cesare played the cello at a very young age and went on to the Prix de Rome to study at the St. Cecilia Academy in Rome. Upon his return to the US, he earned a seat in the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra where he played until he was drafted into the Army. At UC Berkeley, Cesare met fellow student, Martha Curtis, they had four sons, one of whom was Cesare Curtis Claudio “Curt”. This story ends sadly with the December 22, 1981 death of Curt Claudio. While it doesn’t say how he died, I imagine he never recovered from the Vietnam war. As you can see from his musical family history, it’s no doubt that in his state of mind he felt a connection to Lennon’s music. In memory of Curt Claudio 1948-1981. I hope this info helped those who were concerned about him. Hi Fans, my name is Ernie Claudio. I am Curt’s older brother. Curt was never in the military. He was a straight “A” student in high school and earned a scholarship to the University of California in Davis, California. Then he started using drugs and dropped out of school. He spent most of his life working on farms. We worked at Ford Motors in Milpitas, California until they closed the factory. Ford gave their employees $12,000 so could re-train for another job. I asked Curt,” What are you going to do with your $12,000?” Curt said, “I’m either going to buy a Harley or an ultra-light airplane.” He bought the ultra-light, and that’s what killed him. He was flying too low and too slow and the plane stalled. It happened in Fremont, California. The plane came down, bounced off a carport roof, and landed in a tree, six feet off the ground. The high impact caused his aorta to separate from the heart. Dead was instantaneous.

I'm not entirely convinced. One way to tell if a person is really homeless is to look at their teeth. Homeless people usually have yellow, unbrushed even rotten teeth. This guy's teeth were pretty clean. That's the only thing that makes me doubt he was really homeless. He probably wasn't. He was probably an American kid, living in London with his parents and just took off on an acid trip for a few days, ended up in John's garden, talked to him, then sobered up and went home.

This was only two years after Charles Manson and his followers went on a killing spree partly inspired by Charlie's belief that The Beatles lyrics were specifically written as a message to him to start a revolution by going on a murdering spree. I wonder if that went through John's head as he had to explain to this guy that his lyrics were just personal to him, not a message to anyone.

Yoko correctly said this homeless man was a product of John’s or indeed Paul’s songs in The Beatles, but John was “the voice” of that whole counterculture 60s generation that whatever he said, wrote or sang had a huge influence of millions of young westerners that he felt responsible towards them. His rebellious nature, surreal take on the world, brutal honesty, made him the best loved musician in the world and his death we never got over.

Ok but that homeless guy was extremely handsome. With his wolf like eyes he would have been KILLER as a male model.

I feel bad for him too. Traveled all that way, invited in for breakfast and all he gets is a cup of coffee and some toast? John couldn't have had one of his boys whip up a nice 4 egger omelette with ham, or perhaps some French toast, or a decent stack o' buttermilks? Perhaps stoke him..and hip him to a full English? In fact, watching it again, I can see the envy in his eyes watching Yoko grub down on eggs and zauseege. Oh the humanity!

probably not “homeless” as he likely flew to the UK to meet Lennon, maybe just a bit tripped out- and rough from sleeping outside

His name was Curt Claudio. and after this he started to work on farms and a factory in USA. the factory closed, gave him 12.000$ he bought a light plane, he crashed, and he died. And i think they are making a documentary or a movie about him.

A lot of these Paul is Dead theorists and others who think the Beatles were divine messengers should watch this clip. There is no special code or meaning to their songs, you will not unlock life's mysteries by studying the lyrics of "I Am The Walrus". People go absolutely mad wanting to find meaning where there isn't any, its how you get people like Manson or Chapman.

This part of the movie made me sad when I saw it at the theater. Poor guy was lost, misunderstanding everything. But Lennon still saw him as a hungry person and brought him in for some food.

It is a pity that the whole sequence of the breakfast is not in the video. You could see John's son join the breakfast and the young guy staring at the scene just as if he was dreaming to be there, with normal people having a normal family life, instead of being in Olympus
