I love how John Lennon goes on a walk and talks about life with a weird stranger because that’s totally what he’d do in that scenario
@matthewharper5387
@matthewharper5387 3 жыл бұрын
Very. Especially when you see him talking and trying to help and feed that young burned out hippie that showed up at his estate. He was John Lennon... he didn’t have to do that. But he did. As harsh as his personality was... that’s the John I imagine. And can we just give Yoko the respect she deserves please? The way she handled his death, the media, his band mates, and his legacy. If the John and Yoko thing never made sense to you, then you’ve never really been in love. I loved this scene, closest thing to closure we may ever get ✌🏻❤️

@@matthewharper5387 I remember seeing the clip of John talking to that young man. I remember feeling so sad for the guy, he seemed so sad and lost. As I recall, John was kind of stern with him, telling him not to look to others for the answers, that he (John) was just a person who happened to be famous and that he wasn't any wiser than anyone else, then he invited the man in and let him eat with them.

It's what he'd do... but again, as age would definitely add a bit of sensical behavior to his already hippy-esque attitude of life, by the time of reaching 78, as much as he'd be open to talking to a complete stranger, he'd still (at the end) be like, "...but yeah mate you probably need some serious psychological help."

One of the rare scenes that brought me, literally, to tears. Just goes to show you don't need a $200 million budget, huge movie stars, big explosions, and fancy SFX to make a good movie. Talented actors. A clever script that avoids cliches. And a deft director is all you need.

Cerberus Muzak did my research, it is never stated in which occasion John said the quote, neither in which year. On the other hand, it is never said where te quote actually comes from. Yes, it is unlikely that John said the quote himself but until the real source of the quote is found, this will remain a John Lennon’s quote.
@luxi1216
@luxi1216 4 жыл бұрын
Cerberus Muzak bruh really I literally searched for this quote and on every image and every website it was said that it was a John Lennon quote. I understand that you are certain that he didn’t say the quote, and I’m not saying he did, but unless you can track down the real origin of the quote it will still be attributed to John. It’s fairly simple, the quote is John’s until proven otherwise, much like a person is innocent until proven otherwise. I mean, if someone is killed you can’t send to prison a random guy just because there is no proof he didn’t commit the crime. In the same way, there is no proof to support the claim that Lennon actually said the quote but there also isn’t proof that he didn’t and that someone else did. The absence of proof proves nothing.

John Lennon’s death was the first celebrity death that ever actually affected me. When I heard the news, it hit me hard. I remember looking at the album I had only recently bought and realising he would never write another song. It felt impossible and surreal. I’m not ashamed to admit I cried. I wasn’t a Beatles superfan or even a John Lennon superfan, but I did love their music and most of his songs on “Double Fantasy” really resonated with me. His death just felt like an unimaginable loss, especially given his age and how he died.

Yeah let's just forget that Lennon mentally and physically abused both his wives, yelled into his sons ear, deafening him and distanced himself from him, with Paul being more of a father to Julian than Lennon was (Hey Jude is about Julian), and also the fact that Imagine is the peak of hypocrity, where Lennon talks about imagining no possessions despite being rich and very much possessive, no religion despite being very religious seemingly for style reasons rather than genuine belief, and preaching peace despite being a drunken abuser. Also he often showed up drunk to recording sessions and wasnt even that talented on guitar.

John abandoned his wife and their son Julian. They had to get married because Cynthia was pregnant with Julian, that never works out well. While the other 3 Beatles were having the time of their lives dating actresses and socialites, John was unhappily married. Julian should be talking to a therapist about why he did not like seeing his father alive again, and happy, instead of talking to a reporter.

I used to feel sorry for Julian, but after so many years, I realize he’s just a whiner. True, his father didn’t want much to do with him, but he needs to move on and stop thinking anyone owes him anything. He’s had plenty of time and opportunity to find out who he is outside of being John’s son and he hasn’t taken it. He seems to prefer to wallow in misery and use his father’s name for gain. His mother was a shameless extortionist of her status as the ex-Mrs. Lennon and a bit of a narcissist. This is probably where Julian got this mentality from. He needs to grow up and move on with his life. The best revenge is living well.

Since the Beatles never existed in that timeline, John Lennon was never assassinated, and while that's emotional enough, Robert Carlyle's acting made this scene absolutely perfect. Jack was just so starstruck, but John never understood why, and ... it just makes me cry every time I see this.

Just love it when he said the his life turned out "fab". A subtle reference to a life he didn't live in that timeline. The brief delay before his says "fab" is genius......like he was searching for a word to say and that one just popped into his head. Lennon's death happened in my first year of college. Shocking, tragic, and senseless.
