So what exactly is a 1099 CRNA? Well it means you independently contract with a facility or anesthesia group. It changes a lot of things so let's talk about what some of those are and if the cons are worth it.

Would you consider doing a video on all the things you can write off on your taxes as a 1099 CRNA?

Great video man! I always learn a lot! Can you do a video about Honorary Anesthesiologist, I’m gonna be a Honorary Anesthesiologist soon, since it was hard for me to go to college after I graduated high school 08 to become a Anesthesiologist because of my cerebral palsy! Thanks man! I’m 31 from Memphis

Bolt, what are your thoughts on pursuing a saturated field? Before, I thought my profession in mind was the perfect one for me until I saw how much people say not to go into it. I obsess over it. I look up, watch, read just about every video, panel, article, and I also constantly (am a tech) ask people in the field about this profession. On the internet mostly in forums, it is doom and gloom but it is not coming from lies. In real life I get more of a mixed response. I would say 80% of people working in the field are happy and encourage going into it (granted these people all graduated 10 yrs ago before the ship started to sink,) the 20% which are new grads who say DON'T DOOO IT. (And if you are wondering what profession: PHARMACY)

Thanks for all the great videos you always make. My question is can a crna work both W2 and 1099 at the same time?

Yes. He covered it in another video with his mentor Joe. You can be a w2 worker and maintain your 1099 on the side to lower your tax burden.

Hi Bolt great video! 2nd year SRNA here in the midst of clinical- so far I love it and it is what I expected. I have 2 questions: 1. How do you find contracts with hospitals? Do you use marketing or go from hospital to hospital trying to network contract deals? Are there agencies that you can pay fees to to find places that have staffing needs? How does this work? 2. What are your thoughts on new graduate SRNAs doing 1099 right out of school? I do not work in an opt out state- so if I was in a pinch an MDA would be required to be there anyway

There are staffing and locums agencies if you choose to use them. I prefer to network with CRNAs and physician anesthesiologists to find the best niche groups that personally ask me to come on board and help them. An MDA is never required for a CRNAs practice. In states that haven't opted out any physician, dentist or podiatrist can write an order that they want the solo CRNA group to provide anesthetic services and that suffices the "supervision" requirement for Medicare reimbursement.

@@BoltCRNA And do you think 1099 can be done straight out of school? New grad here.

Hello Bolt, do you know if Florida, specifically Tampa, does not have State Income Tax so it doesn't have to be paid as a 1099 CRNA?

How much leeway do you have negotiating salary as a 1099? I have never really had to do that as a bedside nurse, except with traveling but it wasn't anything crazy. What's that process like? And do you think it's better to do 1099 once you have done regular W2 work for a while?
@BoltCRNA
@BoltCRNA 2 жыл бұрын
You have as much leeway as you have negotiating ability.

Are 1099 CRNAs common in states where they don’t allow autonomy? I am in and surrounded by no autonomy states 🤦🏻‍♀️

CRNAs are independently licensed full practice anesthesia providers in all 50 states and work 1099 as indie contractors in all states.
