US Marines from Golf company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd deployed in a Ghost Town in Helmand province push their limits and go deep in to an unknown area to provoke the fight with the Taliban. Three US Marines explain how it felt to pull the trigger in the middle of a fire fight that lasted more than 12 hours. Afghanistan. 2009.

You’d be fooled, that he was a Doc without his Caduceus. Great guy... at the end he put the Battalion Gunner on his shoulder and walked him out. Doc Weber! Im glad I found this. That was definitely a really rough deployment. The unit featured was 2/3 Golf Company. Machine Gunner and all the Support with trucks was a Combined Anti Armor Team from 2/3 Weapons Company, Callsign “Havoc 3” they just had a reunion recently, and it was good. Everyone is out now. Trying to live better lives away from the war. Thanks for all the support, thanks for featuring us on your channel and rolling in one of the most kinetic places in afghan. Shino Havoc 3, Section Leader

These guys did a fantastic job in an incredibly dangerous area and deployment. My father fought in the ET during WWII. He was a replacement soldier with the 121st reg. at the Hurtgan forest. It was his first experience in battle. It was such a different war with the enemy tanks, the much feared 88's and so forth. But at the end of the day, war is war and bullets are just the same as any other conflict, which is deadly. Again, my hat's off to these fine young men for taking the fight to these asshole Taliban whose ideology is just as evil as the Nazi's. They're doing the right thing at the right time. Regardless of what Can't Bone Spurs says, ISIS is still very alive and active. It isn't over.

And we are willing to die for this beautifulu country as well, leave our families, our kids and risk it all for what seems a legit reason.. while our president sends troops and says for whatever reason we are out there for it's never really the reason.. there's always more to it behind the scenes with the American government.. alot of the lies they told and bullshit greedy money loving reasons they sent our people to fight in these middle eastern countries have gotten our people killed.. we are so blind by our government at times. And you know alot of the times it's for good reasons as well. I believe it's both good and bad reasons. We fight for what is right now matter what tho!

Invading force-"Town is empty because of the fighting of the Taliban" It's strange to see and hear people with the bodies of men and the minds of children playing good guys and bad guys telling themselves that they do it for their children. I can only imagine what life is going to be like when they get home. The power of the Taliban and their fanaticism grew in response to invasions. Dude, the Taliban were fanatical before the U.S. military even arrived. They were initially welcomed for shutting down the warlords who were terrorizing the population. Then the population grew tired and angry at the Talys because they didn't want to live under the harsh Wahabist interpretation of Islam that they were shoving down their throats. Why do you think there was a Northern Alliance in the country for us to link up with and advise in the first place? Remember: Anti-Western Howard Zinn revisionist history is not real history: it's just fanatical xenophobia turned inward towards the self.

@@brianpeck4035 That was the Mujaheddin. Different collection of groups that were fighting between each other after the Soviets withdrew. The Taliban were originally a student movement of ethnic Durrani Pashtuns trained up by the Pakistani ISI to attack the warring Muj factions and shut down their corruption, which they did. They enjoyed a lot of good will among the Afghans for that... at first. But once they took control, they lost that goodwill by replacing one hell with another: Sharia law banned a metric shit ton of activities that used to be lawful in Afghanistan, imposed strict rules on men and women, and began terrorizing the Afghan population into submission, and committing ethnic massacres of civilians left right and center.
@jonathanbecker8935
@jonathanbecker8935 4 жыл бұрын
@@StudM01 yeah but don't forget the continued complicity of the Pakistani military and Saudi Arabia. Without the millions of dollars of support from the Saudis, and the supplies and logistical support from Pakistani intelligence, the Taliban would've been crushed in a matter of a few years. The ability of the Taliban to rest, refit, and multiply with Arab Jihadists over the border in Pakistan was what kept them viable as a fighting force. US support, or deference to these terrorist sponsoring governments is the reason this way dragged on with no decisive outcome. And as long as the Taliban leadership is allowed to hide out, living comfortably and safely in Pakistan, there will be no end. As long as the Pakistanis consider the Taliban critical to their national defense, nothing will change either.
