4:50 The best foods to remove fat from your liver
7:38 Check out my video on how to get rid of 50% of the fat on your liver in 2 weeks!
Today I’m going to share which foods to eat to strip fat from your liver.
Fatty liver disease has become a common health issue. Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and alcoholic fatty liver disease are essentially the same problems with different causes.
One of the worst foods for your liver is fructose. Anything that increases insulin can also contribute to a fatty liver, like sugar and refined carbs.
Inflammation and insulin resistance can lead to a fatty liver. Of course, having a fatty liver, to begin with, can create more inflammation and continue to worsen the problem.
Foods with a good ratio of high omega-3 fatty acids and low omega-6 fatty acids are great for the liver. Small-chain fatty acids can also help get rid of fat on the liver. Your body creates small-chain fatty acids when you consume fiber. Healthy fiber from vegetables feeds your microbes, which then make small-chain fatty acids.
There are also all sorts of phytonutrients that can help lower inflammation and indirectly help you reduce fat on the liver.
The best phytonutrients to help decrease fat on the liver:
• Curcumin
• Resveratrol
• EGCG
• Thymoquinone
Other things you can do to reduce fat on the liver:
• Fasting
• Exercise
• Get out in the sun (get plenty of vitamin D)
• Get plenty of vitamin A
• Get plenty of vitamin E
The best foods to get rid of fat on the liver:
1. Cruciferous vegetables
2. Dandelion greens
3. Salmon (wild-caught)
4. Olive oil
5. Probiotic foods
6. Garlic
7. Onion
The best drinks to get rid of fat on the liver:
1. Coffee (1 cup a day)
2. Green tea
3. Black tea

I have never paid too much attention to any 'health' channels on YT, simply bc they never made sense, too many technical terms & usually boring. I also believed I was treating my body correctly & the aches & pains that I had were normal, that's what is supposed to happen as we get older.. right? By fluke chance I watched one of Dr Berg's older video's, & then another 10, I realised how little I knew, & what I did know was wrong, I was compromising my health severely without knowing why. This man made sense I have been taking his advice for over 2 yrs, I have given an overhaul to every aspect of the way I treat my body inside & out. I never could understand Keto, until Dr B explained it at a level anyone could understand. This alone has changed everything for me. I feel that I'm physically & mentally more fit now in my 50's than I was in my 20's. This man is amazing. Many ppl around the globe could benefit from his vast & extensive knowledge, all this, given to us for free. I appreciate the time & effort he invests in various studies, helping us improve the quality of our wellbeing. Much love & respect from Australia

The man across the street from my parents when I was growing up hated dandelions. He wanted a perfect golf course for a front yard. To my parents there were advantages to having a "weed" filled yard. During July ours was the only green lawn on the street because their roots go deep, dandelion greens have been used for generations as salad, milk weed greens are edible too and some varieties are the preferred food of monarch butterflies, etc. Now both are being researched as a source of natural rubber instead of relying on Asian countries as a source.

Not an alcohol drinker, don't even keep beer in my fridge. Never would have thought my liver was an issue, assumed my pains were related to gall bladder since everyone in my family has had to get theirs removed. Ended up with a bad bought of diverticulitis and lower descending colon felt like it was going to swell from my body. Now I'm here.

@@gatopard77 I'd say I suffer more from IBS type symptoms than I do constipation. Low energy is definitely a result of this. I don't eat a lot of grains typically, but was eating a lot of high fat meats and butter. High LDL, etc. I get a lot of bloating or inflammation eating bread or pasta so I tend to stay away for that reason. Had a lot of bad indigestion too, chronic. I don't like taking pills long-term so keep trying different foods that don't bloat me or give me terrible indigestion. I have to start eating vegetables and just chicken and fish with water. Anything with sugar makes me swell too, have insulin resistance.

1st thank you for making me more concerned about my health. I like intermittent fasting it suppresses my hunger. How can i measure the fat on my liver to know it will be 50% less?? Confusing statement. How do we know when we are going overboard and putting ourselves out of balance? Im going to watch every video you made hoping to find answers i need to stay balanced, positive and get healthier than i am now! I’ve survived cancer and just had 2 stents added to my heart. I might even be to far gone, but im here trying.

Hi Dr Berg, great content I learn a lot from your channel. Are you able to expand on your point about olive oil? How can we tell if it’s not the proper stuff or ‘good oil’? and does cooking with it impact the benefits of using it? I have heard you lose the nutrition benefit when it’s heated

He answers this in a few videos on olive oil which you can find on this channel or possibly easier on his website or by asking his staff.

I use California Olive Oil from Trader Joe’s and just drizzle it over my chicken and broccoli. I also make a garlic butter using crushed garlic and olive oil and mixing it with butter and putting it on my steaks.

Thank you very much for this! I think I have drug induced nafld with ibs so it can be tough to eat a lot of vegetables but I would rather have more energy and be bloated than continue to deal with fatigue, hair loss, etc.

I have done these things for over a year. EVOO, sockeye salmon and celery and citrus daily, saurkraut, kale out my Yang Yang….for over a year…. Is my liver so corrupted that the fat around my liver and pancreas will never really go away? I have lost 160 pounds but have come to a place where the fat is being replaced by muscle tissue as I exercise 70 minutes per day , walking, weights, and stairs. Even four days of intermittent fasting for months does not lose weight anymore. What happened? I cannot lose weight no matter what you and Dr. Gundry say. I still have belly fat. I wish more drs. knew what you know and I could talk to one. This comment is more likely hit and miss than try and succeed to speak to you.

I quit alcohol back in 2019. I have more of a belly now than I did before I quit, haha. I do need to eat more fiber and less carbs. I love veggies, should be less of a problem for me than it is.

Stress and a few other factors can make one have a persistent belly, beside alcohol. Dr Berg made a few videos on this, which one can find on this channel or his website.

Do not worry about the fiber. Rather, stop the carbs and increase the saturated fat intake.

For all you Dandelion fans out there..I see a lot of different types of Dandelions in various sizes growing wild. Are they all edible? Honestly some of them looks scary to eat and this is a whole new world to me. Thanks in advance.

Dr Berg, another valuable, informative video, thank you so much! Question: You’ve said in a few of your videos that you don’t even count the carbs in the veggies; you’ve also said to keep your carbs low, ideally between 20-50g. If I am following the healthy keto plan, doing OMAD, eating only a very large, colorful veggie salad (no croutons or other bread-type additions) with an EVOO-ACV dressing, plus an Impossible burger patty and fried egg, both cooked in EVOO, are there basically no carbs at all to count in my day, or do I assume that the veggie carbs are included in the 20-50g carb count?

I just found out I have early stage of fatty liver disease. My doc said to take vitamin E 🤦 I'm so tired of trying to educate mainstream docs! Thank you so my Dr. Berg for everything you for us. Because of you I know exactly what to do and take. I can't wait to do follow up bloodwork and shock my doc when she sees my markers are within normal 😀❤️🙏

@Dr Berg. I read olive oil is nearly pure omega 9 and only has 1% ALA form omega 3. I fail to see olive oil helping.
