Been shooting 360s with DSLR for years. Great job Hugh of presenting a super concise and efficient workflow for the Z1. Especially needed was the tutorial for using the Dual Fisheye plugin. Yes you need HDR to make anything decent with this camera. If you compared to DSLR - DSLR is still going to be better as bigger sensor

2D video has a 360 photo in it like the demo of this video? It is usually the same technique of flatten a 360 video into a 2D video - called reframe. It is done with GoPro FX Reframe plugin: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d66Dfc6elq2Zcas.html - or Davinci Resolve (also on this channel)

I do have a question, I see that you have the Bushman light below the Theta Z1 in your video and you use the light for 360 video but is it necessary for real estate virtual tours since we are braketing the shots already? Any added benefit in using it?

Thanks for another great and free tutorial buddy! I agree with you. I prefer my Z1 over the qc8k super HDR. The colours look more natural. I think for professional virtual tours the Z1 is a better camera. I really like photomatrix. Awsome piece of software just like aurora HDR. Topaz denoise ai is great for removing noise. Inside the images can be quite noisy.

So can you speak your native language? 😂 And then the translation of subtitles in KZfaq translates a little awkwardly when it seems to me a broken one. I personally only know one Russian, I turn on the translation in the KZfaq settings and watch the subtitles. I wanted to ask where to get the rest of the plugins for Photoshop topaz and others?

I love your videos I just would like to ask why go fo HDR dng 9 is it big difference from 3 and 5. Single dng I know is not as good when you have different lights

9 give the smallest interval so we can get the best details with minimal noise. If time allow - always go for 9

I agree 9 is overkill, especially when you have a large house to walkthrough, and the battery life on the Z1 is a joke. But yes you do get the best details with the 9 blend dng. Its too bad you cannot use the Ricoh app to wifi control the shutter, which can help shave of the 10 sec timer for you to go hide.

Hugh, Hello, I really appreciate the time you take on your videos, and clearly your very knowledgeable on the Theta Z1 and the Insta360 One rS 1” 360 camera. I wanted to ask you what your opinion on the overall image quality for still 360’s from each camera. The reason why I am asking is that I currently own both, and I have been trying for a better part of a week to get the quality output from the Theta to match the Insta360. It seems no matter how much editing I try to do the Insta360 quality right our of the camera looks so much better than theta’s z1, am I missing something? I would greatly appreciate your input.

No I don't. AI Denoise will sharpen your photo - but if you use AI Sharpen - too aggressive you will introduce seamline again - which we try to avoid on this workflow.

What I am looking for, is how to setup Davinci Studio (the paid version) together with the GoPro Max including the maximum import and best export settings for reframed video? What is MP? Matterport? Why you suing them? lol. I use KRpano - but I will recommend 3DVista as KRPano is pretty hardcore.
