The newer build (OPL-UDPBD-2044) requires the PS2 ISO partition to be formatted as exFAT with Linux/GParted Live when using UDPBD-Server.exe.
If you want to skip this step then use UDPBD-Vexfat.exe with a partition formatted as exFAT by windows.

For anyone having issues: - Test your ethernet cable - Try the same build of OPL (fixed my issue) - if you have 2 memorycards with 2 instances of FMCB/OPL, slim it down to one if possible (this was my first step) - Turn off windows firewall temporarily; if that works, create exclusions for your PS2 IP

question: does it support other region games (NTSC on a PAL console?) i think it does, because i was able to play MGS3: Subsistence (the NTSC version) on my PAL ps2 but other games dont seem to work and i understand udpbd has some problems on some games but why is that?

To play games with LAN or online support, you need to either use a disc or load games via the slower USB method. If you have a fat model, loading games from HDD should work but I have not tested it.

Thanks for video! Had a problem with UDPBD-server, it didn't open in any OS (XP, 7, 10 x64). What's wrong, any ideas?

Try running udpbd-server using the command prompt as admin.

virtual memory cards are tested and working with opl-1973-udpbd and udpbd-server (win 10,11). It must be enabled in per game settings, make sure to save settings after creating a vmc file. If you ever want to transfer a vmc save to a physical memory card or pcsx2, you can use this tool to export a .psu save: github.com/MegaBitmap/PS2-VMC-GUI

should I do something different if I'm using a router connection instead of direct? I've tried with both the updated files and the original files, and the IP showed up in both UDPBD versions so it looks like the connection was established, but my games haven't shown up on the ps2 at all so far.

When you run udpbd-vexfat it will show all the files mapped. Make sure your game isos show up. For example my game shows up as: - ro:vexfat:/DVD\Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.iso

The current build of OPL with udpbd support has a hard coded static ip of 192.168.1.10. The network settings will not change it.

I've tried this and the BDM games list remains empty. Tried with both a normal ethernet cable and a crossover one because nowhere is there mention of this information except for people that ask and do not get an answer. Some people say to delete previous OPL configurations, but no one says where such files are store, I deleted the previous OPL folder that had configuration files inside and still it did not work.

I used a straight cable in this video. There are three main things that will prevent games from showing up. Make sure the server has permission through Windows firewall. Make sure all USB drives are unplugged from the ps2. The PC must have a static IP address manually set.

You can use a USB stick plugged into the pc instead of shrinking the internal drive.

The main benefit is faster loading times. UDPBD doesn't have the security vulnerabilities associated with SMB.

Crash wrath of cortex works with smb but not udpbd currently. As for gradius v and others, I suggest enabling mode 1 in per game opl settings and see if that works. If you have a game that still won't work, try using smb with a older version of opl like v0.9.3

I get as far as having the list of ISOs, but attempting to run any of them just results in a black screen.

Damn, at times there is still a bit of stutter going on in fmvs and even a few crashes. I notice my computer hangs for a second when this happens too... then the server just stops giving feedback. I formatted some of my C drive for the roms, and using ethernet directly from my ps2 to pc... any suggestions? I'm still testing and most of the times the games work flawlessly... until they don't and crash lol

I would suggest trying a different PC. Maybe a background program or some sort of sleep timer is giving issues.

@@MegaBitmap Actually switching to the newer build of updpb helped.. but now whenever i try to load my games in OPL they refuse to show... and CMD says "unexpected command: inforeply" :( also games.bin just refuses to be created...

@@MegaBitmap I ended up switching to SMB instead... UPDBD had slightly better load times, but getting OPL to read my games and having the server connect properly was too much of a gamble on whether it'd work properly. 0 problems using SMB though

I did not upload the files. They are from Matías Israelson. I checked the files will virus total and nothing is flagged as malicious.

I did exactly same process i can see ps2 ip connection in udpbd server but it is not running and opl is not showing anything in bdm games list

Make sure that you don't have a flash drive plugged into the PS2 when launching the OPL-udpbd ELF. If there are OPL configs from a previous version, delete them. Move udpbd-server to a different folder on the C: drive and make sure to allow it through the firewall. Make sure that the drive letter in the shortcut for the server matches the exFAT partition with the DVD folder. If none of those steps fixed the issue then it is most likely a networking issue. It could be bad cable or incorrectly set IP address.

In case anyone decides to reply to this I’m no longer having trouble with OPL copying since I accidentally deleted the boot folder in UlaunchEFL. Thankfully, while still having the system powered on, I was able to make a new FMCB card and somewhat repair, the old one and now both have the beta-2044 version of OPL hopefully I won’t need to come back here and comment needing more help

@@AltrekLol Does the black screen occur in the opl menu or after choosing a game to run? If it crashes before choosing a game, try deleting the opl config files. If it crashes after, then that game is either not compatible or needs a compatibility mode enabled.

I used a regular cable in this video with one side plugged in the ps2 and the other into the pc.

Because the Udpbd opl build is hard coded to 192.168.1.10 you can only use the router method (indirect) if the default gateway of your router is 192.168.1.1 If it is then just plug both Pc and ps2 into the router and it should work without needing to set a static ip on the pc.

Its not start. If open it with cmd i have error Failed to read entry: IO error for operation on //./A:: Incorrect function. (os error 1) thread 'main' panicked at 'attempt to subtract with overflow', /rustc/84c898d65adf2f39a5a98507f1fe0ce10a2b8dbc\library\core\src\ops\arith.rs:221:1 I couldn't add it to the firewall exclusions when windows asked me. Please help

If using udpbd-vexfat change \\.\D: to D: in your shortcut. If the drive letter for the exFAT partition is different, you must change the letter D to E or F or G... For the firewall you can create a new folder then put udpbd-vexfat.exe inside. udpbd-vexfat cannot be in the save partition as the exFAT one that has the DVD folder. When you run it as administrator a UAC prompt will appear. Check both boxes to allow it on your network.

With the current version of udpbd-vexfat this is what the server reads out when everything is working. @@antontornvall8526 Here are a few things I recommend checking. Make sure you are using the latest OPL with UDPBD support. Before launching OPL, unplug all USB devices connected to the ps2. When you launch OPL you should see this in udpbd-vexfat: UDPBD_CMD_INFO from 192.168.1.10:48573 If you do not see this then you have a network issue. Please note that after restarting the PC running udpbd-vexfat the initial connection attempt will fail. Just restart OPL on the ps2 and it should connect the second time.

@@MegaBitmap I am having the same issue with the last line not showing. It worked before but it is not now. I don't know what could possibly be wrong with my network as I didn't change anything
