I came to the conclusion that the only way I would have prevented dbmII would be to eat as if I had it. Both parents, no Grandparets. Standard American Diet 100 times more sugar than 2 generations ago. Sugar = Kryptonite.

I'm a type-2 diabetic, diagnosed as such in 1997. I'm nearly 73 years old. I eat any fruit I want in moderation--for example, half a banana in my hot or cold cereal each morning; maybe a half dozen cherries as a snack; half an apple as a lunchtime dessert, sliced, with peanut butter, etc. I don't micromanage my meals; I know not to overdo it. I never check my blood sugar, and my AiC's are consistently in the 5 range. I take Metformin and Glipizide daily. My doctor told me recently that my diabetes is "very well controlled."

What do you do with the other half of the fruits? They get brown so quickly
@williamlarochelle6833
@williamlarochelle6833 Жыл бұрын
@@laurielynne2006 I have a small, hard plastic container just big enuf to hold a whole apple; that's where I put ithe other half, the fleshy part down, til I eat it the following day. The top screws onto the bottom, so the air can't get to it. But you could just as easily use cling wrap, I should think.

It's good to know that I'm not alone in wanting to know the healthiest choices for my diet. It's not been easy, but I'm scared enough of diabetes to control what and how much I eat of anything. I feel I'm still learning more about it even though I was diagnosed in 2017. I've had two mini strokes last year and really want to prevent any repeat of that.

Ok brother I respect it that you feel that you are better fri pre diabetic but diabetes and heart decease high BP are the two silent killers so really I don't know how you say you're feeling BETTER. Then IDK maybe you are. Then go see a doctor maybe you can break the Medication and WE can get rich.

@@JxT1957 I don't know where MsCeci get they "FELT" better Doo Doo from smh you can go a head and BELIEVE em' but diabetes you don't feel. Diabetes and BP are the TWO SILENT KILLERS. So you're prediabetic NP, cut all ALL sugar with SPLENDA even NO SUGAR soft drinks and drink a I DRINK A COFFEE CUP but drink a cup of cinnamon tea. 1 cup a day to much cinnamon is not good. The best way or the way I make cinnamon tea is I put a stick a cinnamon in a pot of water bring to a boil and let it boil for hmmm 4 minutes. Drink 1 cup EVERYDAY and watch your sugar go down quick QUICK. A regular sugar count is 70-130, back 2018 I was told by my home nurse to go to the hospital NOW. I went I found out that I was killing myself and I didn't feel I was matter a fact I felt VERY healthy, found out that my sugar count was a 1000 yes a THOUSAND. When I finally saw doc he was very puzzled and said 1's @ 500 are already dying and here I am @ a 1000. I found out in my 2019 physical I "REVERSED" my diabetes hey I'm still a diabetic bc once you have diabetes you have diabetes for the rest of your life. I have my diabetes under control and a matter a fact my sugar count this morning was 117. I'm able to go to Luby's eat supper and for dessert and can eat me a slice a cherry pie. Once in a blue moon but I can. Also drink a lot a water and why bc each time you go pee bc you are full a water sugar is released in your pee. I'm sure doc just told you to drink a lot of water but didn't tell you "WHY" am I RIGHT. Hey come on zero sugar soft drinks are not as bad as it sounds, I like em'. Google and do research on diabetes you can even Google Cinnamon. God Bless and peace out.

Flaxseed is good as well leche de alpiste with water, for cholesterol, constipation, blood sugar and reflux. I am not a diabetic but diabetes runs in my family so I always watch what I eat and keep my weight down where I should be. I love this KZfaq channel with Dr. Ergin teaching everyone what’s good for you to eat and what is not, I really appreciate his input! 😊👍👍👍

@@SugarMDs Dr. Ergin thank you for suggesting the video about seafood and I am so sorry I misspelled your name, I will correct it in my post. I am a 75 year old female and very health conscious about the food I eat and serve to my husband as well, I have been like that my entire life. Your channel is a real blessing to me with you actually surprising me sometimes with foods that I thought might be good for you but really aren’t that great if you don’t want to spike your blood sugar. My husband and I are huge rice lovers and eat it on a regular basis knowing that white rice has the highest glycemic index so therefore I use brown rice sometimes on and off which my husband of 55 years unfortunately doesn’t care for. After eating brown rice for a while and switching back to white rice, makes that rice taste like cardboard! 😁 I only buy long grain white Himalayan Basmati rice and the brown version of it, but I watched your video yesterday where you suggested a rice from Louisiana (our neighboring state) called Parish rice which I ordered on Amazon right away because we want to try it. It’s a bit pricy but our health is worth it to us, I will let you know how we like it! Like I said, neither my husband who is 81 and myself being 75 are not diabetics and are trying to keep it that way, so thank you for all your great videos you make to keep us all healthy, I love them all! By the way, my last lipid panel in May of this year showed my glucose level at 83 and my husbands at 86! 😊👍👍👍

@@nanapoku5259 What I did was a bowl of Cheerios @ night (bc it's not a heavy meal late @ night) with unsweetened Almond milk bc milk does have sugar. Yes I know I didn't think so either but it does. Then just sprinkle to your taste bc common is a strong spice. Sprinkle also in pizza, tacos ANYTHING you want. You can also eat cactus CACTUS is good for diabetes. Just keep monitoring your sugar and watch it go back to normal then stop don't want to go to low and watch your sugar in take. I'm even able to eat me a BIG cinnamon roll @ times Ana slice of Cherry pie @ times but do drink water bc each time you are full of water not coke tea etc has to be water. Each time you urinate it releases sugar. See doctor doesn't say "WHY" he just says "DRINK WATER". Eat cinnamon but remember to monitor your sugar count and be BLESSED.
