Actually be careful about applying sunscreen thinly! Sunscreen works by creating a layer of a tested thickness and if you don't use enough you don't actually reach the spf level!
@TheSimpleEnvironmentalist
@TheSimpleEnvironmentalist 2 жыл бұрын
does this depend on how frequently you apply it?

@@TheSimpleEnvironmentalist You need 1/2 tsp on your face to reach the SPF as your sunscreen is labeled. The same goes for your neck.

Thank you for making this video. It was helpful to see the results on someones actual skin. I ordered some Butter Me Up sunscreen after watching and can't wait for it to arrive. I haven't worn sunscreen in years because of all the nasty chemicals in them. I'm glad there are so any good options.

This is the video I've been dreaming of!! Just wanted to note since you didn't go over ingredients really, I looked these up as I was watching the video and I think all of them except for Sea & Summit have coconut oil in them. I get it as an ingredient for a product kept in a tin to keep it like, solid, but it sucks for those of us with sensitive skin who break out really easily but also want to be as environmentally friendly, and beautiful, as possible. Guess I know which one I'll be buying!

If you rub the sunscreen in your hands really well and then apply you avoid the white cast. But some sunscreens it is just unavoidable

I had a recommendation for SPF lip balm because the brand I use will sanitize and reuse the plastic tubes if you send them back but YT auto mod keeps deleting my comments. 😩
@findingagain
@findingagain 2 жыл бұрын
I think it's just because YT automod is recognizing geographic information and deleting it. I use P or t land Bee Balm's solar eclipse, which is SPF 15. I can find it in the pharmacy and grocery, but that might be because of proximity. I'd love to use their refill kit, but the SPF balm isn't in it yet.

@@TheSimpleEnvironmentalist I’ve tried some but the amount you get for the price is just too high especially for the amount of sunscreen you should be using so it’s not cost effective for me plus mineral sunscreens dry my already dry skin out and these are so oily for my skin since I live in a fairly humid climate in the north east and during winter these dry me out so bad and then leave a greasy film on my skin. Zero waste and natural are different to me because I’m not a fan of “natural” like essential oils that so many of these products also use which are resource intensive and use a ton of water and distilling in alcohol to be made. I just wish there were options because mineral isn’t for everyone.
@TheSimpleEnvironmentalist
@TheSimpleEnvironmentalist Жыл бұрын
@@pattycarljackson that's totally fair, I agre they don't last the longest. I work indoors all day so I don't need to spf my whole body every day. I agree too and avoid essential oils as they really aren't eco. many of these are scent free tho!

@@TheSimpleEnvironmentalist yes but I regret all the plastic bound makeup I bought when I was younger. If you ever see teen magazines there’s tons of makeup ads.
