What a great era we live in, where some guy in his room can give world class commentary and instant max engine level recap to virtually every game in existence, be it a Fischer or a candidates game that ended right now. And do so brilliantly and consistently. Kudos to agad, the KZfaq chess curator.

That was due to the unusual e5 in the Sicilian. He tried to trick fabi into taking the poisoned bishop, but didn't fall for it and got the draw. Up for grabs with 13 rounds to go.

@@aaronchan1088 for sure,he played a dubious line, but then Fabi would have been well prepared for any standard line. I think Nakamura knows that Fabi has the edge in classical, so he had to make it scrappy. No increment helped a lot too, you can see Fabi isn't a fast player. With more time he would have finished Hikaru easily. Exciting stuff! Let's see what happens with the white pieces

@@nazarenoalmiron526 after naka played Rf6, if fabi took the free bishop, naka wins with Qf2+, followed by Qf1+ and Rxf1#. Naka was fortunate to hold fabi to a draw after playing e5 in the Sicilian. @@tunkyw I think that's good, but try out all the streams. Irina Krush is great, esp with Vishy. She seems to know how to prompt him and to offer good ideas. Svidler is my favorite commentator, but he's working with Pragg. Chess is largely pattern recognition, so watching the games will give us all more of that. Jeremy Silman reviewing GMs games, any really, helps even when we have no idea what they are doing. Eventually the sense of it will come into focus, so long as we work on tactics and endings and the skills of chess. Good luck! Don't let bad losses or blunders get you down and have fun!

find it strange that Fabi, after drawing with Magnus in 18' then getting destroyed in Rapid, has not been able to think a bit quicker in Classical so that when he reaches a critical position he would have a bit more time to find a excellent move to at least put more pressure on or win some material That move K-g2 smacks of trying to not lose something in a complicated position instead of looking deeper.
