Also, back in the day, bathrooms were called ‘ bathory rooms’. Throughout the years, English has changed and shortened terms, so it became ‘ bath rooms’. They were named after Elizabeth bathory because of her “ bathing “ in the blood of her victims. 😊 I thought that was super interesting and watching this reminded me of it.

The 20 years is the part that gets me. That number of victims, even if they were peasants, seems like it would raise a big stir.

It comes out to 32 and 1/2 victims per year or roughly one every 10 days or so so I mean it depends on how far they were going out to get these and how big the area was and how many children The peasants had. Typically peasants do you have a high number of children the lower class also wouldn't have been as concerned about girls because girls cost money and don't earn money if she had taken boys even from the peasants in the lower class things would have happened so much sooner because boys had value and girls have negative value back then

At least she took some breaks now and then or there'd be Waaay more in 20 years.... unless she torchured one for weeks at a time.. I gotta do the math here my Need To Know is Kicking in. Ok so in about 20 years here shed have taken on average one every 11 days or so, woow! Yup I think it was probably long torchures with day or 2 off to bath in them.. and another to catch another. you'd think her husband would have been a bit more cautious around that one!

25:18 The room was literally bricked off. Like, they built a brick wall to keep her inside. The only contact she had was through a slot for passing food and other stuff through. She did not get to go for walks. Just had to mention that. Love the story btw, I learned a lot about the Countess that I had never heard of before.

I was thinking the exact same thing! And she started off with peasants.. her baby technically was that because her first lover was beneath her. Then she came to enjoy it and maybe even started taking it out on ppl from nobility not only because it was exciting but because that's was what she was and had to be. In a way doing it to herself.. if that makes sense.
