It reduces me to tears every time I watch one of these videos when they pop up.I am a 71 year old veteran of 22 years service in the British Army and count myself lucky that I came home every time.I salute all the men and women who faced a foe whoever it may be and made the ultimate sacrifice or were injured doing their duty.I am not the slightest bit religious but may your God bless you all.

"When you go home, tell them of us and say, "For Your tomorrow, we gave our today.'" RIP Boys and Girls of the British Armed Forces. We will carry on what you left behind. God speed!

How come those working in private contracts do not get the same respect? There was a a high profile case back 2 years ago where a young lad was killed in a gunfight between renegade Afghans and this British contract guard. He got no send off! His parents rightfully spoke out about it - still nothing has changed - WHY?

But that is not really fair is it? I mean maybe from a Government financial perspective maybe - but from a moral point of view its wrong. Those guys are laying down their lives no matter how you look at it!

@desdecks19 I would have expected a more mature comment from a 35 year old American. But as the saying goes every village has its idiot and for me you can claim that accolade without any doubt whatsoever

@OsConscript "iraq is free" ? free of what? its own self rule maybe, afghanistan is free? your idea of being free is a N.W.O. concept ie free to do what WE say. If your idea of being free is to go to the toilet (?) having a pint," and go to work with a normal life" (A happy robot in other words), i dont think you understand what freedom really is. It was said once , " there is no happier slave than one who doesnt know they are a slave" , some ideology owns you, but can you see it?

@permaveg Iraq is free of a dictatorship, people there have more say there because of the war than they did before, and yes agreed the word freedom is loosely used but at the end of the day, if you can do all those things i said then that is your own freedom, we all live under rules and laws, thats what society is built upon. Life is what you make it, if you can plan your future, get married when you want, see friends or sit at home in your pants on your day off from work, you are free to do so.
