I mean it makes sense! I thought the themes of womanhood and fertility were really engaging in Nie no Hakuniwa, in a way that surprisingly empowers Kyouko as a murderous psychopath. It really does read like someone who has genuinely considered/struggled with these ideas, and you could interpret the story as a reclamation of that trauma (being able to decide for yourself that you want a child, regardless of your fertility).

The first two acts are intriguing and had depth to it. It's unfortunate that the last act devolves into mindless revenge torture plot. I agree with a good amount. Kinda ironic how for diving into the worth of a women, the story turns them into throwaway whores in the 3rd act.

I know VN’s aren’t typically the pinnacle of upmost respect for women, but this is just sick. And isn’t the writer a woman herself?? She should be completely ashamed for pandering to that mindset!

I found the story to be surprisingly empowering not in spite of, but because of the rape and torture. The third act is entirely Kyouko's decision, although Kurou is the aggressor, he agrees because it's Kyouko's desire, placing the agency into Kyouko's hands. Kyouko's character to me reads as a reclamation of the pain and trauma she was subjected to (albeit in a very unhealthy way). Even when turned infertile, it is her decision to still want a child anyways, it is her decision to burn down the cage she was born in. The story stresses that it is possible for someone to love you, regardless of your physical state or how much you are "worth" as a wife, to the point they would murder everyone who you despised, if that was your wish. This contrasts the other families, where that love is not possible (with that one exception but it's an exception for a reason). Also, I don't think the story was trying to say that "all women enjoy rape," it's that the women in these specifically families had undergone the same generational suffering and that this "last act" is their freedom from it. Most of the scenes emphasize that they don't enjoy rape/abuse with other men (see Rikugo Suzune), just Kurou. This is because they know that he's not doing this because he "hates women," and thinks he's superior, but because he's driven by his wife's craving for a child. It's not personal, it's just how the box works. He just likes sex because it feels good and he likes the control of violence. Again, he doesn't think women are beneath him. Obviously, the story is gratuitous. It's gore porn lmfao. But I found the exploration of fertility and womanhood to be quite engaging and not at all disrespectful. In fact, the main character's atrocities are reactions to the cruel and horrific systems of misogyny that the story explicitly frames as being wrong.

Sayori, the creator of NEKOPARA, is not only the producer but in charge of the Art Direction. I was curious to see how Sayori would tackle something she doesn't typically do. Those scenes I found unexpectedly well directed. Besides while the guro stuff may come off as torture content, the setting/premise around tends to have more depth to them. I spoke about the first 2 acts being intriguing as a family political drama x drama romance. That and I'm always curious to see what wacky ideas guro content writer come up with lol

For the general rule, you can go to VNDB, check on the character list and then spot if there's at least one ugly looking guy (monster included). Those are the characters that most likely to do the deed to your beloved waifu. Usually the more ugly the guy, the more extreme the NTR.
