I'm so glad this movie was bad, because I am 20 years old and really did not want to have to walk up to the ticket booth and ask for a ticket to see "The Bye Bye Man".

I was an extra in this movie. I knew from my first day on set (November of 2015) that this movie was going to be fucking terrible. Not only was the acting noticeably terrible, the director was also all over the place. Some of the crew were making such a big deal about this movie, it was honestly kind of sad. The main girl was really cute though and had a lovely British accent. Not sure if she used an American accent for the film, since she didn't have any lines in the scenes I was on set for. The main guy and his brother had some lines though. God damn was it painful to watch. You could get the sense from almost everyone on the crew that they were making a bad movie, and it was exhausting. The 2nd AD was the man though. He treated everyone with so much respect and had such positive energy. I was taking a break during one scene and sitting in a chair behind the camera. He sat down in a chair next to me and just sighed and held his head in his hands for a moment. I asked him how he was doing and he just sorta nodded and said something along the lines of "as good as I can be." Also, Doug Jones, who plays the Bye Bye Man, was on set one day, out of his make up. I saw him during our lunch break sitting at the cast table, not talking to any of he college age actors, just sitting there quietly looking entirely unamused. We made eye contact and he just had this helpless expression, but so seemed really annoyed that I was looking at him. I felt bad for the guy

So... up until this movie came out, who actually said Bye-Bye Man in real life? Wouldn't it be a more effective monster if it were named the "Later Dude"?

BYE BYE MAN my script idea. Also, This movie takes place in the 1960s: A child brutally beaten and bullied by his parents leaves the house and runs away to a train far away from them as quickly as possible. There he meets a stray young puppy that comforts him, they both eventually become friends and leave the train to get to the same area in the movie. The boy isn't really doing well from what happen to him in the past which haunts him through his childhood and teenage years make him feel uneasy. The boy steals food in a liquor market joined along his dog. The cops eventually goes after him and tell the boy what his doing and where are is his parents. The boy cries and tells them he doesn't want to go back with his them because of the way they treated him. The cops take him to a orphanage temporarily until he meets his new parents. His original parents are arrested for their crimes and are sentence to death. Fast forward, the boy is now a grown man who is driven insane by the nightmares and his past including the teens that bullied him in high school years because of his fear. Also, when he was a child the parents' kids weren't very kind to him and taunted him (the cast in the movie) by laughing at him constantly calling him a coward or sissy and the old parents insane personality starts to appear and through that beats the kids and carves the walls death threats with words such as BYE BYE in blood and others while there parents aren't around in a secret place underneath the basement. The kids tell their parents one day and the parents kick him out of the house and is arrested. It wasn't long from his prison sentence being over and was treated by psychologist but despite this he still had the nightmares inside his head even after the treatment. Later on, he was taken off the treatment and was discharge for his actions because it wasn't intentional. The old parents personality slowly starts going into the man's brain sort of like Two Face but it fully takes control slowly through the film. After the personality takes control the man starts stalking and visiting people's homes. Also, killing people and beating kids wearing a cloak. Soon after, a group of adults go after the man and his almost attacked by them but his the dog protects him. One adult says bye bye before he kills him alongside his dog shooting them and later burning them both, coincidentally connecting the BYE BYE theme. *So the parents spirit goes after all the families that are connected to all the ones that killed his son. The parents spirit calls himself BYE BYE MAN for the son's suicidal marks and disturbing nightmares about them. In conclusion, Some adults are arrested for the event and others are yet to be caught. The BYE BYE MAN is a spirit that kills not only through dreams but while your awake. The deaths look like normal incidents such as crashing, suicide, and ect. When the person is dreaming or awake they will always get a vision about The Boy taking them to the train, every adult involved in the event slowly die by him one by one and the kids that are now grown up are the next ones for the LIST OF BYE BYE MAN, THE END.*

I really hope Chris does more collab’s with his friends in the future. I just really really enjoy watching the synergy he has with flickster, matt brando, and the others previously featured

I watched this with a couple of friends and I don't know what you guys are talking about. This was the greatest comedy/drama I've ever seen!

When he was singing "bye bye love" I kept expecting him to sing "bye bye man". Lol you're right, I would've died laughing if they played bye bye bye then!

Just finished watching. Absolutely amazing. An underappreciated bit was at the beginning (no spoilers), someone mentions that this girl wants to do a seance at the house and the guys keep dismissing her because "people who wear hats inside are crazy" but she never wears a hat inside out outside through the whole movie.

God seeing all those short 6 second ads before vids about this film drove me into the ground about this movie, I'm kinda glad it was awful as what did we expect? Like they said it has an OK premise but it's generic, has a bucketful of white teens in the cast & has bloody 'the' in the title, as if 'bye bye man' on its own wasn't bad enough

I was thinking maybe the back story on the man could have been the dog. Him and the dog lived together but people kept saying bye bye man to him because he's old or something lol. He then dies and the dog dies by his side. Basically the dog is actually getting revenge on anyone that says bye bye man. Still shit but better than the actual movie and I came up with it on the spot!
