It lost some points for me solely because of Ed Harris' hairpiece...

*love* Oculus - watched it recently and it's such a fun little inventive movie. Gerald's Game and Doctor Sleep were great too! Keep doing King stories, mr. Flanagan!

.Kingdom...' is not a good film. Just watched it at the cinema twenty minutes ago - a pointless dull film.

I saw this movie very recently. Like you, I basically went in blind and wow, I was not ready for the adventure I went on but I enjoyed the journey so much.

It was a little too comical for me. The characters were always too cool and never seemed to worry about dying. It was silly and you don't feel the weight of what they were doing. I would prefer a more realistic portrayal of what happened instead of all the no look shooting to play to the cameras.

I can't call this a bad movie because Paul Giamatti's performance elevates it so. He is that good.

The acting, the music, the first ever gopro shot of the wife in the tub. Common, this movie is the greatest sic movie ever made, bar none.

What's really scary about this movie is that though it was considered a massive flop, it still grossed $230 million on about half the budget. My first thought is, how did this turd cost over $100 million dollars, and even more frightening, how did it make 200 million? In 1997, during the peak of the era of Extreme. There were some great, innovating, edgy films in the 90s, and ones like this that that really didn't fit. The 80s were considered passe by this time, but even they would have chucked this piece of trash to the curb.

I liked it a lot , I thought it was better than the 3rd one. Yes this movie had “slow” moments but people act like there wasn’t any action at all. Which is not true. There was action for sure. If you’re into exploration of a world and a journey , this film is for you. If you want action all the time , it’s not for you.

I thought it was good. It wasn't great and really didn't hold up to the original trilogy. Still, I was happy to see it.

I watch this movie at least once a year, minimum. Whenever I doom scroll Netflix and can't find anything to watch I fetch this BluRay and off we go.

I thought it the movie was good but bad within the context the the title. It's more of an adventure rather than "kingdom". The King doesn't appear until the second half and his ideas aren't really explored beyond the scene at the dinner table. I just wish it was called something else because it misses the interesting plot of building an ape kingdom

Watched it last night and really enjoyed it. I agree it lacked the depth of the previous movies. I did find Mae to be a little flat, she wasn't very emotive. Small issues for what is an otherwise decent film.

@@DavidTheDeveloper I literally was falling Asleep, I never fall asleep in the movies. The movie lacked the soul of the last three. I didn’t connect with any character, felt rushed. Visuals were good, though. My opinion. I loved the last three, this was mid at best
