You are so correct on this. Thomas has been an issue BEFORE he was confirmed. If anyone is justifying why we need both term limits and a definitive code of ethics for the Supreme Court, it’s him. He’s been an embarrassment. And the fact that he is so brazen about admitting what he did, shows that there HAS to be guardrails on the amount of power lawmakers and judges have in insulating themselves from PROPER accountability. Exposing the misdeeds or crimes is NOT accountability, it’s a responsibility to the public to do so by news organizations. It is the responsibility of government to serve as a check and balance. But when not enough of government wants to do this because they see it as their mission to instead protect, coverup and make excuses for one of their own, it means government is fundamentally broken.

Thomas actually did claim on his disclosure forms in the late 90s that he had used Harlan's private jet for a couple of trips (to California, I believe),. The NY Times did a small story on Thomas's relationship with Crow, and Thomas never included another trip on his annual disclosure forms. ProPublica has a YT channel and recently posted a video about all of this. It's quite interesting.

An IRS agent can’t even accept a cup of coffee while on official duty, yet a Supreme Court justice can accept lavish gifts? So does that mean the Agents have more authority? Make it make sense. The public should be calling for his head. It’s obvious he is selling his rulings to the highest bidder and even if he isn’t, it sure appears to be so to the public.

The idea that "justices should make decisions independent of popular opinion" is the stated reason the founding fathers instituted lifetime service on the Supreme Court. I've definitely changed my opinion about many things since I was younger. I'm glad I wasn't allowed to make legal rulings on the things I used to believe way back when. And if someone doesn't believe in science or try to grow in character with knowledge and experience (progress), I sure don't want them deciding things for me today. I feel Supreme Court justices should have term limits.

Anita Hill, I always believed you from the beginning. I knew years ago this man, and his wife are pieces of shi*! I watched this as a young girl. I listened to her testimony. It took a lot to stand up for herself. I was proud of her as a young woman.
