Nope! It was too do with carly who controls the estate agents who purchased it and also owns the landfill sight nearby. She wasted no time blocking the access road/ hiring a digger and setting fire to it just as the sale went through.

Apparently, the lane was blocked by a large 8' high mound of soil preventing fire service access to the pub. Hard job proving arson now pub demolished...
@SupercarSpeeders11 ай бұрын
There was two mounds. One at the enterance and one under the bridge. Both mounds were moved when the digger went in to destroy the evidence and then the mound at the gate was put back. I show a short clip of it at the end of this video.
@onenote661911 ай бұрын
That it was arson cannot be any more apparent. I can only hope that some video evidence comes up. Or that the local council says 'bite me' when the new owner applies for planning permission.
@rogersmith833910 ай бұрын
New owners will be Tory donating Freemasons so they will have no problem with planning permission and obviously will not have broken any laws as it was all a tragic accident. Or am I just getting old and cynical?

I’m hoping a whistleblower comes forward and tells all, this is criminal what has been done, it’s completely broke me seeing a beautiful building being torn apart like it meant nothing, who f***in does that to an heritage rich building that is world famous and one of a kind? Hope a full through investigation goes ahead and those who done this face justice for what has happened. I’m visiting tomorrow, I was privileged to have been here and done an paranormal investigation here, it was a rarity to visit and to experience how amazing this place was, gonna miss this building big time and my daughters (along with many other kids and their next generations of kids) will never get to experience and make memories with this gorgeous building, it’s very sad and upsetting. RIP crooked house, you will always remain in our hearts and our memories and even if they rebuild it, it will never be the same 💔 xxxxxxx

It happened with the Carlton Tavern in London although that one wasn’t burnt and demolition was stopped half way thru. Trouble is, it’ll be hard to prove arson and even harder to prove a link to the owners. They might get some fines for illegal demolition but a rebuild looks very unlikely. Probably worth writing to the local MP and Mayor to ensure they know how voters feel. I’ve sent mine

A pub crime, pure 'n' simple. This is disgusting, the letter you found looks like the 'K' possibly the crookedest letter, some one else found the 'C' . We are losing our pubs. There was one in Newport, that had to be knocked down during the pandemic, as it had had 3 arson attempts. I set out to make a list of 20 pubs in my area (West Yorkshire) that had gone, i got to 20 no bother, went for 30, then 40, then 50, I got to 57, I am sure I could make 60, but it was all too depressing. I remember the Royal Standard Manningham Lane Bradford had a beautiful ebony bar, funny how it all got crated up, ready for a makeover just before it got torched? About 1989. The Glen Royal Cinema (Shipley) got torched about 2012, it had been mothballed since about 1964, and was still mint inside, would have made a brilliant art house cinema, someone had other ideas, a few gallons of unleaded put paid to that. Drummonds mill (Lumb Lane)went up in about 2015. Seems we can't have nice things. Hope someone goes to jail for this travesty of heritage. council hang your heads in shame! HOABL

For years in the SE..decades..such practices have been rolled out, particularly targeting perceived 'historical' sites...I most sincerely hope that the People of the Black Country get justice for this crime against their community, naming and shaming the perpetrators nationally..In this endeavour your success could 'out' a too-long accepted evil...😢

I wish people were as supportive of what has happened to Ayr's Station Hotel just this week. A massive Victorian French style landmark building that the local council wanted to have demolished despite offers to restore it and return it to use from people who have done the same elsewhere. SAVE Britains Heritage carried out a survey and published a report which says the building is in nowhere near as bad a condition as the council was making it out to be, and that the building was structurally sound and able to be restored, this is followed a few days later by a large article in the Scottish Herald newspaper in support of restoring the building, and highlighting the building's importance. On that very same day, the article is published, the building, in particular the section the council wanted to have demolished, burns to the ground.... lo and behold... 3 teenagers who can't be named are apparently arrested for it... nothing fishy going on there eh....

@pb12399611 ай бұрын
Not Arson, it was an accident.The mud piles blocking the fire service were there because a lorry dumped its load by accident. Someone working on the building removed windows, which allowed air flow, that must be an oversight. The digger used to demolish the building was booked a week before the fire for another job nearby on the owners land that he had access problems to because the building was in the way. That's just a coincidence. They removed items of value before the fire started, very lucky in hindsight. The buyer had some bad luck this week. Good job he can now get access to his other business. Otherwise, this would be a total loss 🤔
