- brings up his concerns directly but sensitively, acknowledging her boundaries - notices her behaviour is out of character and acknowledges that too - Clearly states the traits he values in her - Doesn't react defensively when she bats him away - Reminds her that her current mood is temporary and things will improve for her Some good tips here for how to discuss a loved one's mental health if you have concerns about them!

The problem with this scene and many others in The Crown is that only 2 people were involved in the conversation-we have no idea if it actually took place, let alone the exact wording. It's a common technique in films and the viewers often vicariously assign legitimacy to the event.

I am not sure that the others don't have achievements, and for sure I will not call equestrian competition a "down to her own effort alone". Equestrian activities, unless you are a farmer, are basically a manifestation of privilege. If she was born in a working family in a low-income suburb she would not be playing with pure-blood horses as a child. So yes, good effort but far *from alone* , she is not Muhammad Ali.

Back when television showed real sporting events and not just physical games I saw lengthy films of Princess Anne in competition at the Kiev Horse trials. She is fearless and tireless in the face of astronomical jumps, speed and endurance. She deserved every bit of the support and confidence her father gave her. Had he done the same with her brothers it might have helped them to build their self-confidence and courage. But they were not born with her intestinal fortitude and what they did have was abused out of them early on at their boarding schools such as Gordonstoun. I admire Anne. I feel compassion for Charles.

Philip's death shocked me more than I thought it would. It's worth delving deeper into what made Philip tick. His childhood, his time at boarding school, his frontline service in WW2 and the reasoning behind The Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Yes, he did suffer "foot in mouth disease" but no more than many others. Such as shame that he didn't get a telegram from his wife. As for Anne; she's still quietly brilliant.

I love that he references the Battenburg family connection. So much about the English royal family is framed around the Windsor brand, which is fine but it's true that their Battenburg lineage, like or loath it, was a part of who Anne was as a young woman. If this representation is accurate, good on Philip for helping his children connect the dots and leverage the strength from their extended family history. All families, not just royal ones, should inspire their kids in the same way. :)

This women finished a team eventing ride after suffering a concussion because of a fall half way through. To this day she maintains that she has no memory of the second half of that ride. Sadly the team had to withdraw anyway because two of the horses were injured. But I kinda doubt that this woman (today the president of the FEI) would have seriously considered not to ride an olympic tournament if given the chance.
@AnimalisMD
@AnimalisMD 9 ай бұрын
Ingmar De Vos is the current FEI President- has been since 2014. Anne was FEI President from1986-1994. Her father was President from 1964-1986. You are correct about the Olympics and HRH not remembering much of her ride. Anne represented Britain at the 1976 Olympics in The Sport of Eventing. She indeed had a bad fall during the cross-country phase and was concussed. In those days you were allowed to remount and finish. Nowadays that isn't allowed but back then there wasn't the understanding of the dangers of brain injury that we have today. In fact, many people never wore a helmet for regular riding (I grew up in England and got my horse training there). There are actually photos of her late Majesty and the RF galloping up Ascot racecourse without helmets (HM in a headscarf and the men in cloth caps)😬😮

What is all of this based on though. The whole thing, with Diana’s ghost also, shows they are making up a lot of things. Sad that they can’t just be left alone. They should just make one on Meghan and Harry’s failures. That one would at least be accurate 😂

@tushafilms1061: Ah, so pathetic, that the only way to get anything published is to make pithy petulant perorations on KZfaq about situations and people you know nothing about. By doing so you immediately create empathy for the real life characters and actors by convincing people that unfortunately know you too embarrassed to admit it. What a piece of s**t.

Oh grow up. Opulence and money don't mean much when everyone is distant and rather cold.

Humans have emotions , no matter how much you have or don't have. You could be incredibly wealthy but feel depressed and that's normal. I absolutely hate when people mock wealthy people of having mental health issues because they have money. It's incredibly annoying and disgusting. We humans have our ups and downs that happens and instead of beating a person while they are down, help them or understand where they are coming from. I abhore people like you.
