It's sad how the D.O.C played such a critical role, with Death Row and The Chronic album being created, but wasn't property credited and compensated for it. Along with the N.W.A. albums. But it just enhances The D.O.C.'s greatness, and importance to hip-hop. Along with being a great MC. #Legend. #GOAT 👊💯

Man thats respect bro. D.O.C. is a legend off of one solo album and his pen for a-lot of classics for NWA, The Chronic and Doggystyle. He says all the time that he wanted the respect of the East coast M.C.'s so it drove him to be great. Notice how there is hardly a cuss word on his album. It's kind of a nod to his favorite M.C. Rakim.

jboog1974 I'm not sure if Snoop's career wouldn't have blown up, but I feel the respect you are giving D.O.C. For the folks replying to your post downplaying D.O.C. all I can say is this. Dude wrote alot of Eazy's parts. He's all in the movie, and D.O.C. was the FIRST solo artist on Ruthless. If that doesn't tell you how good he was, then i don't know what will. His pen is also all over the Chonic and Doggystyle albums. Look back at the video's and old N.W.A. interviews. D.O.C. is everywhere. There is a reason a cat that had no voice after his accident is everywhere they are. Snoop always big ups him. and Ice Cube said during N.W.A.'s rock n roll hall of fame induction that the D.O.C. was the 5th member of the group bcoz he penned alot of their music. West Dallas born n bred D.O.C. with Dr Rock and the Fila Fresh Crew.
@davidhill7071
@davidhill7071 5 жыл бұрын
@Ali Chaudhry D.O.C. to this day said NY hip hop is what he listened to and wanted the respect of bcoz he saw himself as a lyricist. I didn't mean to downplay Snoop, but if you watch, in a lot of interviews Snoop credits Doc as the person who groomed him as an artist.

Man, I listen to this brutha' talk and I think to myself... there goes I but for the grace of God. I was in L.A. during the rise of NWA, & The D.O.C., along with all the east and west coast rap legends as a D.J. I traveled the world rockin' houses from Pattaya Beach to Australia and I think of all the vices that I could have taken part of, but I was wise enough to refrain from most of them. I did my share of damage but God had another plan for me. Today, I blessed with a beautiful wife, a lovely lifestyle and all that I did in the 80's is nothing but a distant memory. I survived to tell my story and quite a story it was. But now, I'm a content and happy man. I am blessed and I thank God for allowing me to come this far. Peace and health to you my brother, The D.O.C.. Those were some fun times that we will never forget.
