The industrial era of our country was pretty must decimated by the '70s because of our lousy inept gov't and their regulations/policies. I miss my childhood years as well when things were wayyyy more personal and better. Growing up in the '90s was great. We still do not have cell phones and will never get them. We don't use any wifi. We stopped using a microwave about 15 years ago. We don't eat any GMO foods..GMOs are very easy to avoid.

I might have brought this up before so sorry if this is a repeat. You have so many eggs you should make homemade egg noodles. Another chance to home make something so it’s higher quality. You can try a small batch, then go big as dried noodles last a very long time. I’m not sure if this would work but I’m thinking of trying to use the bread maker to knead the noodle dough so the gluten is very springy. This summer I’m going to challenge my 15 year old to help me make home made ramen noodles. (We don’t have eggs like you do for egg noodles) He’d live on ramen if I’d let him. I’m always looking for things where I can control the ingredients. I feel like it’s healthier that way. Always love watching your homestead grow. Have fun in the kitchen, no matter what you decide to make! ❤

Back in the day, we would raise cornish cross for meat, 100 chicks at a time starting in May . Another 100 chicks in June, and 100 in July. In part of our barn hay mow, we had 3 grow out sections on concrete floor covered with fluffed up hay. Small room for heat lamps, 1/3 of big room for the 4 to 8 week group, and finish them out in the big birds' side. We culled the rusters for freezer camp ourselves. Hens went to freezer camp at 10 to 12 pounds, or until their legs start to go out! We also had our feedmill mix our own chicken feed recipe. I miss those days.😢

Gary the meat birds I was telling you about at the meet up is called Rudd Rangers from Hoovers hatchery I paid 143.00 for 40 unsexed birds and you do have to feed them 4-6 weeks longer but the also don’t eat as much as the Cornish cross birds I got 40 birds on April 11th it is May 22 and I still have all 40 birds and they are growing very good. The website says they will be between 8-11 pounds in 12-14 weeks

Apologies Gary, but CC chickens are not GMO. They are hybrids. Plenty of available info on this if y'all are interested. More likely that the feed y'all are buying is GMO. Anyways...keep up the good work.

Yes, you are totally correct. And I hope they do look into it because bad info like that gets spread around and confuses people. I appreciate you bringing this up. And from our point of view they really should be avoiding GMO foods, more than they realize. But I'm glad to hear they are starting to move in the right direction.

hi! i saw on another youtube channel were a guy made his own chicken feeder, he grab a pvc pipe and then placed a bend on that pvc pipe and on that bend then he placed a obstacle in form off a small wood thingy so only half off the hole on the bend was exposed then he screw the whole pvc pipe on the wall and then he pour the chicken food in the pvc pipe and when the chickens was hungry then they could go to the pvc pipe and eat from that bend on the pvc pipe. basically take 1 pvc pipe then in the end of that then put a i think 40 or 60 bend then put a 90 bend pvc pipe, on the end off the 90 bend pvc pipe then put a wooden obstacle so the food dont go everywere and then you have the automatic feeder i saw. you can make your own form off that automatic chicken feeder but i do hope you understand what i mean?

like that idea of one seed at-a-time feed. Less waist and a slower consumption. chickens were made to peck ... so it's natural for them to grab the seed . . . the bowl is for animals with spoon mouths, like cows & dogs.
