70s TV star Debralee Scott's life is truly one worth celebrating...even if the ending isn't exactly the one that she would have hoped for.

Debralee was awesome. I only spoke to her once. I was trying to find an address to send her condolences and found a phone number for a talent agency and left a message. Debralee called me back. What a sweet lady. I just loved her. She was too good for this world but I sure miss seeing her.

@@salsberi l am sure of it. Debralee at age 52 probably felt she had nothing else to live for. I've seen this in other cases where people will not fight for their lives. How ironic. The same thing happened with my mother's parents as well, but my grandma went first. And I seriously think that wiped my grandpa out. They were together for 63 years and married for 65. When my grandfather passed away in January 2019 my grandmother was very lonely and brokenhearted and 3 months later after so much time of keeping to herself and died in her sleep around the same time of day my grandfather died. My birthday falls on the same day as my grandmothers birthday in late January and this year will be very lonely for me... now I have no thoughts of ending my life just missing the time every year. My grandfather on my mom's side his birthday was the day before mine and growing up we celebrated both birthdays on his birthday and I ignored mine because I looked up to him more. Though this story of mine is sad in its way I do not tend to end my life... but continue to live as both sets of grandparend has taught and raised me. Cheers all

David, thank you so much for posting this heartfelt tribute to Debralee Scott. I loved watching Debralee, on television, when I was growing up. She seemed to pop up everywhere, for a while. I was also thrilled to see her in the Police Academy movies. There was something very unique about Debralee too.... she was one of the actresses that always stood out, immediately. I mean, once you've seen her face, with that cute little overbite, in a film or television show, you never ever forgot her. She had that special quality where she seemed familiar to many. She was very relatable. She seemed like she could easily become everybody's best film. Hell, I even remember Debralee's appearance in the TV edited version of the blockbuster film "Earthquake." Her scenes, on the airplane, landing during the earthquake, never made it in the theatrical release of "Earthquake," but it came time to edit the successful film for television. Debralee's scenes were added back into the film. Such a tragic ending to am actress/celebrity that meant so much to many viewers, out there. As an actor, up here in Toronto, I would be thrilled if my work could eventually touch as many lives as Debralee Scott's. I remembered being quite shocked that Debralee had passed on (I found out, a little later, after it happened)....and quite possibly of a broken heart. She was definitely a big part of my formative years. RIP Debralee Scott. My condolences to Debralee's loved ones. My heart still aches when I think how tragic her last few years on earth, must have been. Thanks, again, David.

Wow, did not know. Thanks for sharing. When my grandmother passed she was 95, she went to sleep and did not wake up. It was three days after my grandfather passed away in his sleep. They said she smiled at everyone but was quite and stopped taking her meds. One thing, she called almost every immediate member of the family...just to say hi and she loved us. We talked about my first dog and summers on their farm and going to the railway crossing, waiting for my grandfather to wave his lantern as he passed on the train. I was so young I can only remember doing this twice. He worked on the Illinois Central Railway for over 60 years, started when he was 11. Sorry, again Dave bro you hit some memories. Cheers.

Good morning Dave. You are such a masterclass storyteller I love your channel. (But you already knew that) Please don't be hesitant to tell the story of beloved actors and shows we grew up loving just because of a terribly tragic ending. We, as viewers, can pick and choose which videos to watch if it takes too big of a toll on our hearts. I think Debralee would want her story told. It keeps them and their work alive in our hearts and lends a kind of immortality to them. And she would def give you a big hug for this I have no doubt. You and your channel are a treasure. Thank you for all of your hard work.

Dave... like you I also don’t like watching or reading something if I think it will have a sad ending. I like Happily Ever after endings for everyone. With that said you did a phenomenal job with this video. What a fitting tribute to an actress who was a part of our childhood and growing up years. I remember her in every show you mentioned ( I did watch “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman” with my grandmother: I really thought it was a strange show😊). I was not left sad hearing her story ( Though I was sad for what happened to her.) You left me feeling admiration for her as an actress. You did a great job! Thanks again for the memories 👍

Not an easy story to tell, and you did it the right way. Thank you for doing this. I remember Debralee on various shows, game shows, and specials. You produced a very informative, tasteful, and touching tribute.

Dave, thanks for giving us the heads up at the start of this video. Like you, I tend to avoid movies, shows or stories where the outcome is tragic. Maybe it’s unrealistic that we do that but we all have our own devices... Great video, and I applaud the sensitivity in the approach you took here. Wow, it really seems like “American Graffiti” was a one stop shop for ABC to find their 70s sitcom stars.
